Bertha Elizabeth McHargue
Retired Clyde cook
Bertha Elizabeth McHargue, 78, of 700 Helen St., Clyde, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1999, in the Arbors at Clyde, where she had resided for five years.
She was born in Clyde Sept. 4, 1920, to Charles and Anna Elizabeth (Magruder) McDonald.
Survivors include: two children, Larry McHargue of Bellevue and Terry McHargue of Clyde; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild; and a sister, Bessie Carnicom of Oak Harbor.
Two brothers, Charles Jr. and Harry McDonald; and a half brother, Royden Heckman, are deceased.
Mrs. McHargue, a 1938 graduate of Green Springs High School, retired as a cook from the Flat Rock Children's Home.
She formerly resided in Flat Rock.
There will be no services or visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Joe A. Dysard
Norfolk/Western Railroad retiree
Joe A. Dysard, 76, died Wednesday June 16, 1999, at his residence at 875 Valleyview Drive, Bellevue.
He was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Kingsbury, Ind., to Offley "O.T." and Ipha (White) Dysard. His wife, Gertrude "Trudy" (McManus) Dysard, whom he married
May 23, 1945, in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Norwalk, survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Joe Dysard II of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Karen) Hartman of Bellevue; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and a sister, Dorothy Gress of Port Clinton.
Preceding him in death were a brother, John Dysard, and a sister, Mary Briggs.
Mr. Dysard, a 1940 Willard High School graduate, retired in 1982 from the Norfolk & Western Railroad.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue; K of C, American Legion, of which he was a life member; the VFW, Eagles, Last Man's Club of Huron County Grange, N.A.R.V.E., Historic Lyme Village, Mad River and NKP Railroad Museum and 4-County Young at Heart.
A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he was a former member of several western round and square dance clubs.
The Rev. Robert Tucceri will be the celebrant at the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Bellevue Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and Grange services will be at 7.
Memorials may be made to the church or Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
Twila Sarah Nycum
Former restaurant owner
Twila Sarah Nycum, 90, of North Brush Street, Fremont, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1909, in Mayburg, Pa., to Frank and Elizabeth (Harkins) Mauraco. On March 30, 1927, she married
Ellis "Nick" Nycum, who died Jan. 4, 1997.
Survivors include: five children, Mrs. Robert (Norine) Sieger of Bellevue, Ronald Nycum of Luna Pier, Mich., Mrs. James (Mary Jo) Carey of Kingdom City, Mo., Mrs. Richard (Judith) Tucker of Fremont and Mrs. Jim (Linda) Mooney of Florida; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
A sister, Bessie Graber, and two grandchildren are deceased.
Mrs. Nycum, who received her education in the Fostoria Schools, owned Nicky's Restaurant in Clyde and Green Springs and also worked at Clyde Porcelain Steel and for the Ohio Turnpike.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. Jeff Nordhaus officiating. Interment will be in Scott-Trinity cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Maria Guadalupe Nye
Fostoria resident
Maria Guadalupe Nye, 38, of 724 S. Poplar St., Fostoria, died Wednesday afternoon, June 16, 1999. She was born Sept. 1, 1960, to Reynoldo and Josephine (Leal) Casiano. They survive in Carrizo Springs, Texas. On April 7, 1993, she married
Dave Nye at St. Mary Church, Tiffin. He survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: two sons, Kevin Banks Jr. and Jeremy Casiano, both of Fostoria; three daughters, Chastity Casiano of Fremont, Maria Hernandez and Serena Banks, both of Fostoria; a stepdaughter, Chrystal Nye of Fostoria; five brothers, Joe and David Casiano, both of Carrizo Springs, Texas, Ray Casiano of Toledo, and Oscar and Henry Casiano, both of Fostoria; three sisters, Jane Bulkowski of Cleveland, Irma Kiser of Carlsbad, N.M., and Josephine Kreais of Findlay; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ray and Michael Casiano, and a sister, Jane Casiano.
Mrs. Nye worked at GSW Manufacturing Inc., Findlay. She was a 1979 graduate of Fostoria High School and member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
The funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.
Visitation hours are 5-8 tonight and one hour prior to the Mass Saturday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.
A Christian wake servicewill be at 5 tonight at Hoening Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Seneca County Community Hospice and Mass Intentions to the church.
Opal Kathryn Cassidy

Opal Kathryn Cassidy, 76, of 715 W. North St., Fostoria, died Wednesday afternoon, June 16, 1999 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. She was born May 30, 1923, to Albert A. and Bertha L. (Nau) Heinze. On Oct. 14, 1950 she married
Casper "Cap" J. Cassidy in St. Wendelin Church. He died Sept. 6, 1983.
Survivors include: two sons, Gregory J. Cassidy of Findlay and Mark E. Cassidy of Fostoria; a daughter, Carol Ann Reese of Clinton Township, Mich.; a sister, Maxine Edgerton of Tiffin; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Heinze, and two sisters, Velma Beamer-Lawless, and Marie Garn.
Mrs. Cassidy was a homemaker, member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Rosary-Altar Society, and a graduate of Arcadia High School.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.
Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 tonight, at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Choice N. Culver
Retired Sycamore area farmer
Choice N. Culver, 92, of 781 Woodside Road, Sycamore, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Wyandot Manor, Upper Sandusky. He was born April 26, 1907, to Ira and Laura (Newell) Culver. On Nov. 2, 1940, he married
Alberta M. Spiegel. She died Aug. 19, 1991.
Surviving are many cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lauren and Oliver Culver, and a sister, Thursa Margaret Culver.
Mr. Culver was a retired farmer. His memberships included: Our Master's Chapel of Benton; induction in 1987 to the Hall of Fame of the Ohio State Fair; former Texas Township trustee; church trustee for many years; charter member of Mohawk Historical Society; Sycamore Grasshoppers Baseball Team; poultry and livestock judge, judging all over the United States for 70 years; purebred livestock breeder; induction into the Senior Citizens Hall fo Fame in Crawford County; Wyandot County Honorary 4-H member; and an avid baseball player who was once was asked to play for the Toledo Mud Hens.
The Rev. Charles McGlone will officiate the 1 p.m. Monday service at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be at Brokensword cemetery, Bucyrus.
Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Mohawk Historical Society; Our Master's Chapel; Wyandot County 4-H Endowment Fund; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
John C. Reinhard Jr.
Atlas retiree
John C. Reinhard Jr., 74, of North TR 21, Fostoria, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, June 18, 1999, at his residence.
Mr. Reinhard was born May 19, 1925, in Fostoria to John C. and Mildred (Tyson) Reinhard Sr.
He married
Margaret L. Deitchman Aug. 23, 1944, in Fort Smith, Ark. She survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, John C. Reinhard III of Findlay and Brian J. Reinhard of Fostoria; a daughter, Pamela M. Adams of Wapakoneta; three brothers, Roger of Fostoria, Art of New Concord, Ray of Arcadia; three sisters, Gladys Maneke and Amy Below, both of Toledo, and Mrs. Ralph (Mildred) Cunningham of Hammansburg, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Reinhard retired from Atlas Crankshaft Corp. in Fostoria in 1983 after more than 31 years. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Fostoria; Eagles Club of Fostoria; and was an U. S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Waite officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens near Arcadia.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice of Seneca County or the High Street United Methodist Church Elevator Fund.
Harry E. 'Catfish' Heffelfinger
Melmore resident's father
Harry E. "Catfish" Heffelfinger, 77, formerly of 602 Baker Court, Upper Sandusky, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, 1999, at the Wyandot Manor Nursing Home, where he had resided the last one and one-half years.
He was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Upper Sandusky to John Clyde Heffelfinger and Alberta Mae Bailey.
On Nov. 13, 1959, he married
Lillian D. Young in John Stewart United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky.
Surviving family members include: his wife; a son, Steven Young of Powell; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Gloria) Steurer of Nevada, Mrs. Cal (Kay) Baker of Toledo and Mrs. Cayce (Debra) Smith of Melmore; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. He was the last of his family.
Mr. Heffelfinger retired from Swan Rubber Co. in Bucyrus March 30, 1979, after 20 years.
He was a member of the John Stewart United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky; Eagles 2184 of Upper Sandusky; served 14 years in the U. S. Navy during and following World War II. His hobbies included aquariums, tropical fish and working crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed working with his hands such as yard work and working in his garage.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Bringman-Clark & Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with George Kolarik officiating. Burial will be in the Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with an Eagles memorial service at 8:30.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Activities Fund of Wyandot Manor Nursing Home.
Mildred Dee Haugh
Former ASCS employee/homemaker
Mildred Dee Haugh, 82, 393 W. CR 592, died at 11:25 p.m. Friday June 18, 1999, in the Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, where she had been a patient since March 23.
She was born in Bascom on Feb. 27, 1917, to Mott and Florence M. (Boltinghouse) Parks. On Aug. 1, 1937, in Bloomville, she married
John R. Haugh, who survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Robert A. Haugh of Dayton, David L. Haugh of San Clemente, Calif. and Stephen R. Haugh of rural Tiffin; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A lifelong Seneca County resident, Mrs. Haugh had been employed at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and the Ohio Power Co. She also was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Shiloh Grange, the Auglaize Valley Unit of Wally Byam Airstream Organization and Community United Church of Christ, Fort Seneca..
A 1934 Columbian High School graduate, she also was a member of Tiffin Chapter 189 Order Eastern Star, Ladies Club of Knights Templar 9 and the Kum-Join-Us Farm Women's Club.
The Rev. Barry Bordenkircher will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, where Eastern Star services will be at 7:30 p.m.

Norman T. Snyder
Retired Nationwide Insurance agent
Former Fostoria resident Norman T. Snyder, 90, of Perrysburg, died Sunday June 20, 1999.
He was born Aug. 18, 1909, in Alvada, to Herbert E. and Ida E. Snyder. His wife, Zenith, survives.
Survivors also include: a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Norma) Kwiatkowski; a son, Terry E. Snyder; two brothers, Donald and Herbert Snyder; a sister, Ellene Myers; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Berneta; three brothers, Jay, Wilson and Ralph Snyder and a sister, Pearl Rhodabaugh, are deceased.
Mr. Snyder retired in 1973 as an insurance agent from Nationwide Insurance Co., where he had been employed for 34 years.
He was a life member of Heatherdowns Church of The Brethren and a member of the Wiseman Club at the west Toledo YMCA, Toledo Rockhounds, Rubicon Lodge 237 Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite, Ft. Industry Chapter 208, Fostoria Chapter 94 Order Eastern Star and the Fostoria Commandery 62.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Heatherdowns Church of The Brethren, followed by interment in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo.
Friends may call 2-6 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Road, Toledo, where Masonic services will be at 7:30 p..m., followed by Commandery services.

Jean Agnes Peltier
Fostoria homemaker
Jean Agnes Peltier, 73, of 428 Burnham Drive, Fostoria, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday June 19, 1999, in the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born in Fremont, Jan. 21, 1926, the daughter of Bernard and Clara (Hillyer) Hughes. Her husband, Franklin "Frank" Peltier, whom she married
May 26, 1947, in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fremont, survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: five sons, Gary Peltier of Waynesboro, Va., Gregory and Dennis Peltier, both of Fostoria, David Peltier of Alexandria, Ohio and James Peltier of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Marian Gaertner of Sun City, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.
A homemaker, Mrs. Peltier was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a 1944 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
A memorial Mass will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Her body has been donated to the Anatomical Department of the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
