Douglas R. Stock
CSX Railroad tower operator

Douglas R. Stock, 56, of Palmer Street, Fostoria, died at 12:40 a.m. Monday May 31, 1999, in the Toledo Hospital.

He was born June 29, 1942, in Fostoria, to the late Elmer and Alma (Higley) Stock.

Survivors include: three brothers, William Stock of Fostoria, Charles Stock of Old Fort and Richard Stock of Niles, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stock, a 1960 Fostoria High School graduate, was employed as an operator at "F" Tower for the CSX Railroad in Fostoria. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

The Rev. Bertie Dell will conduct the 11 a.m. Wednesday service in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia, where military honors will be conducted at the graveside.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Beatrice Thelma Robenalt
Retired Castle manager

Beatrice Thelma Robenalt, 90, formerly of 466 N. Sandusky St., died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday May 29, 1999, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Tiffin.

She was born in Townwood, Ohio, Nov. 11, 1908, to Virgil and Mary (Pingle) Haner.On Dec. 31, 1947, in Tiffin, she married Edward J. Robenalt, who died in 1989.

Surviving are: a son, Norman Twining of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. George (Eileen) Sahadi of Arizona and Mrs. Frank (Marjorie) Kocour of Sand Lake, Ariz.; a brother, Frank Haner of Tavares, Fla.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Mrs. Robenalt retired in 1972 as manager of the Castle at Heidelberg College.

Services in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dr. Robert Buckley officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home is 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to St. Catherine's Care Center, Tiffin.

Lois C. Moore
Mother of Tiffin resident

Lois C. Moore, 93, formerly of Rt. 1, Arlington, died at 7:35 a.m. Sunday May 30, 1999, in St. Francis Nursing Home, Tiffin.

She was born Feb. 12, 1906, in Port Clinton, to Fred and Clara (Christiansen) Bredbeck. On May 19, 1928, she married James C. Moore, who died April 10, 1972.

Survivors include: a son, John W. Moore of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Willard P. (Patricia A.) Heddles of Tiffin; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A brother, H. Paul Bredbeck, also is deceased.

Mrs. Moore, a homemaker, was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, Arlington.

The Rev. Jerry L. Nuernberger will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. service today in the Crates Funeral Home, Arlington. Burial will be in Arlington cemetery.

Visitation is after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the church.

John C. Hoover
National Machinery retiree

John C. Hoover, 62, 2150 N. SR 53, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday May 30, 1999, in the Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born in Tiffin, May 30, 1937, to the late Hugh S. and Leah (Armbruster) Hoover. His wife, Louise F. (Mathias) Hoover, whom he married Sept. 10, 1960, in St. John United Church of Christ, survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Steven (Christine) Thom of Tiffin and Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) Cook of Sycamore; two brothers, James and David Hoover, both of Tiffin; and four grandchildren .

A graduate of Old Fort High School, Mr. Hoover retired in 1989 as an assembler, from the National Machinery, where he had been employed for 25 years.

He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Moose Lodge 846, Tiffin and the National Machinery Quarter Century Club.

He also served in the United States Army and Army Reserves.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. John United Church of Christ, with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, where National Machinery Quarter Century Club members will meet in body at 7 p.m. and Moose Lodge services will be at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Express Van, Autumnwood Care Center or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mary Kentris
Homemaker/restaurant owner

Mary Kentris, 78, of 2725 Foxfire Lane, Findlay, died in Fostoria Community Hospital at 8:15 a.m. Saturday May 29, 1999.

She was born in Youngstown, Nov. 24, 1920, to George and Anna (Natschu) Cassimatis. On June 27, 1943, in Detroit, Mich., she married Michael N. Kentris. He survives in Findlay.

Survivors also include: a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Alexandra K.) Wolph of Fostoria; three sons, Dr. Nicholas M. and Dr. William A. Kentris, both of Fostoria and George L. Kentris of New Albany, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis G. Cass of Detroit, Mich.; and a sister, Andronica C. Maget of Findlay.

Mrs. Kentris, a homemaker, also owned and operated the M & M Restaurant in Fostoria 1960-62 and co-owned and operated the Plaza Inn, also of Fostoria 1975-80.

An avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan, she was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Toledo and its YAH group (Young at Heart). and the '60s Dance Club.

She served as a volunteer at Fostoria Community Hospital and also was a member of the former Fostoria Chapter 94 Order of Eastern Star.

She had attended Detroit Business Institute.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. George Matsis officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest cemetery, near Arcadia.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, where a "Trisagion" service will take place in the evening.

Memorials may be made to a local diabetes fund.

Dean B. Powell
Bendix-Autolite retiree

Dean B. Powell, 86, of 1205 CH 96, Carey, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday May 28, 1999, in the Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky.

He was born in Crawford Township, Wyandot County, Oct. 16, 1912, to Fred S. and Stella R. (Brown) Powell. His wife, Evelyn E. (Schade) Powell, whom he married June 7, 1935, preceded him in death Dec. 11, 1993.

Several nieces and nephews survive.

A 50 year member of Carey Lodge 420 Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, Mr. Powell retired from Bendix-Autolite in Fostoria, after 11 years of employment. Prior to that he worked 19 years at Porcelain Products in Carey.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Carey, the Pioneer Club, Indian Mill Antique Association, Upper Sandusky and UAW Retired Workers Union Chapter 533.

He also was a member of the following Masonic Bodies: Carey Chapter 159 Royal Arch Mason of Ohio where he served as past high priest; Upper Sandusky Council 98 Royal and Select Mason of Ohio, 32nd degree Mason and life member of Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo and Warpole Chapter 366 Order of Eastern Star, Upper Sandusky.

The Rev. Paul DeMoss will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Wednesday service in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation at the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey is 6-9 p.m. today, where Masonic services will be at 8:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the church, in care of the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, Ohio 43316-1169.

Sadie G. Bennett
Upper Sandusky homemaker

Sadie G. Bennett, 83, of 318 S. Seventh St., Upper Sandusky, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday May 30, 1999, in Marion General Hospital.

Born March 30, 1916, in Madison County, Ohio, to Albert Ross and Bessie Mae (Leonard) McGraw, she married Olen E. Bennett, Sept. 2, 1936, in Kentucky. He died Sept. 12, 1987.

Survivors include: three sons, James E. Bennett of Upper Sandusky, Marvin L. Bennett of Mansfield and Gary E. Bennett of Marion; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Janet L.) Szelag of San Antonia, Texas; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Bennett of West Jefferson.

A son, Robert; a grandchild and a great-grandchild, also are deceased.

Mrs. Bennett, a homemaker, also had been employed as a cook for several years at Fairhaven Health Care Community, Upper Sandusky.

A former member of the Harpster Travel Club and a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Upper Sandusky, she enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens in Upper Sandusky and her family, She also enjoyed crocheting, latch hooking and vegetable gardening.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Ben Gregory officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Bethel cemetery, Mt. Sterling.

Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetic Association, the Wyandot County Heart Support Group or the donor's choice.

Russell L. Rohe
Long-time Glass House employee

Russell L. Rohe, 95, formerly of 243 First Ave., died Sunday May 30, 1999, in Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born in Tiffin, June 22, 1903, to John P. and Sarah (Brinkman) Rohe. On Nov. 6, 1929, in Tiffin, he married Minnie F. Nichols, who preceded him in death March 12, 1990.

Surviving are three step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and 14 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were an infant son, Russell; a step-son, Stanley Krock; seven brothers and six sisters and a step-grandson.

Mr. Rohe, a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Sandusky River Coon Hunters, had been employed as a glassworker at the former Tiffin Glass House, where he had worked for 47 years.

Services in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial. will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. Thursday until time of the service.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Arthur F. Miller
Rural Bellevue farmer

Arthur F. Miller, 91, of 16275 E. TR 136, Bellevue, died in The Arbors of Clyde, Sunday May 30, 1999.

He was born Jan. 7, 1908, in Franks, Ohio, to Alois and Agatha (Gerber) Miller. His wife, Mary I. (Hohman) Miller, whom he married May 18, 1935, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, the Rev. William Miller C.PPS of Sacred Heart Parish, Sedalia, Mo. and Richard Miller of Bellevue; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Carolyn) Aicholtz of Attica and Mrs. Gilbert (Lois "Betty") Shultz of Northville, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Corrine Schock of League City, Texas.

A son, Dominic Miller; three brothers, Marcus, Roman Sr. and Robert O. Miller; and two sisters, Viola Bauman and Matilda Smith, are deceased.

Mr. Miller, a farmer, was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, rural Bellevue, its Holy Name Society and Sacred Heart League.

The Rev. William Miller C.PPS, Mr. Miller's son, will be the celebrant at the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday funeral Mass in St. Michael's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

John C. Hoover
National Machinery retiree

Visitation for John C. Hoover, 62, of 2150 N. SR 53, who died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, May 30, 1999, in Autumnwood Care Center is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where National Machinery Quarter Century Club members will meet in body at 7 and Moose Lodge services will be at 7:30 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home will be 9-10 a.m. Thursday.

Clen W. Standish
Former Ballreich distributor

Word has been received of the death of Clen W. Standish, 75, of Fremont, who died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

He was born in Lyons, Ohio, to George and Hope (Clendinnen) Standish. On Dec. 25, 1975, in Fremont, he married Wilma Groen. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Roc and Brec, both of Fremont.

A 1942 graduate of Columbian High School, Mr. Standish had been employed as a distributor for Ballreich Potato Chips.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Africa and Italy during World War II.

There were no services or visitation. His body was donated to science. The Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont, was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society.
