Edwin B. Cleveland
Ohio Division of Forestry employee
Edwin B. Cleveland, 79, of Woodland Court, Clyde, died there Monday, April 5, 1999.
He was born June 4, 1919, in Adams Township, Seneca County, to Norman J. and Fannie (Francisco) Cleveland. His wife, Marie (Strohm) Cleveland, whom he married
Aug. 26, 1942, survives.
Other survivors include: three children, Lanny Cleveland of Fremont, Mrs. Dennis (Diane) Drown of Walbridge and Michael Cleveland of Clyde; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Loyola Sellers and Esther Morton, and four brothers, Wayne, Clark, William and Orlie Cleveland, are deceased.
Mr. Cleveland, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, had been employed as assistant superintendent of the Ohio Division of Forestry at the State Nursery for 34 years, retiring in 1981.
A life-long area resident, he was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church, Green Spring VFW, where he was a life member, Vacationland Travelers Camping Club and the Dartball League.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Green Springs United Methodist Church, North Broadway and Green Street, with the Rev. Nancy Hull officiating. Interment will be in Green Springs cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Green Springs VFW.
Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to Sandusky County Hospice.
Norman N. Nye
National Lime/Stone retiree
Norman N. Nye, 80, formerly of 112 Columbus Ave., Carey, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in the Wyandot County Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky, where he had resided for the past four years.
He was born in Marion, June 26, 1918, to Ned F. and Rebecca C. (Fry) Nye. On May 23, 1953, in Richmond, Ind., he married
Hazel L. Swisher, who survives.
Survivors also include: two sons, Jeff Nye of Carey and James I. Nye of Fostoria; three daughters, Mrs. Duane (Sue) Pierce of Ft. Myers, Fla., Mrs. Mike (Judy) DeAmicis of Carey and Mrs. James (Jean) Gordon of Clarksville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Zitella Crow-Thiry of Bradenton, Fla.
A grandson; a brother, Cecil R. Nye; and a sister, Eva C. Wright, also are deceased.
Mr. Nye, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, retired from the National Lime and Stone in Carey in 1983. Prior to that he was a truck driver for Swan Rubber, also of Carey.
He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Carey.
The Rev. Paul DeMoss will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Friday service in the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-9 p.m. Thursday.

Thomas J. Myers
Retired from U.S. Army
Thomas J. Myers, 62, 18 Madison St., died at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in the Emergency Room of St. Charles Hospital, Lucas County, Oregon, Ohio.
He was born in South Charleston March 19, 1937, to the late Linson and Edna (Sharp) Myers. On March 9, 1991, in Tiffin, he married
Mary Whitaker. She survives.
Survivors also include: six children, Timothy Whitaker of Clyde, Brian Myers of Findlay, Debra Daughenbaugh of Tiffin, Lisa Beamer of Arcadia, Brenda Myers of Tiffin and Deanna Daughenbaugh of Findlay; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Myers, who was an active Junior ROTC instructor at Springfield High School, retired from the U.S. Army. He also was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
A 1955 Columbian High School graduate, he was a member of Tiffin Moose Lodge, Tiffin Eagles and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He had lived most of his life in the Tiffin area.
The Rev. Richard Muhlmann will conduct the 1 p.m. Friday Memorial service in the First Presbyterian Church.
There will be no visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Addah Mae Kight
Homemaker/former Tiffin resident
Addah Mae Kight, 88, formerly of 262 Beechwood Drive, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield, where she resided.
She was born in Fremont Dec. 17, 1910, to William V. and Jessie F. (Feighner) Boroff. On Feb. 21, 1931, she married
Benjamin T. Kight, who survives at the Ohio Masonic Home.
Other survivors include: a foster daughter, Patricia Banks of Dayton; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Gearldyn Ferstler of Tiffin and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Belle) Mooney of Clyde.
Two sisters, Dorothy Hollar and an infant sister, are deceased.
A homemaker, Mrs. Kight was a member of the Protestant faith and a former member of the Good Sam Club.
The Rev. Van Fisher will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Friday service in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

John A. Maistros, 68, 39 Harvest Lane, died at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in St. Francis Home. Arrangements are pending at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Beulah G. Tomb, 86, 171 Gibson Court, who died Monday, March 22, 1999, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greenlawn cemetery with the Rev. William Smith officiating. Iva Minnetta Whiteman

Former Fostoria resident Iva Minnetta Whiteman, 86, of 24 Westwood Court, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in St. Catherine's of Tiffin.
She was born in Tiffin, Nov. 26, 1912, to William H. and Minnie Mae (McCormick) Shutt. Her first husband, Wilmer F. Walters, whom she married
April 22, 1939, died Sept. 9, 1941. She later married
Charles Lee Aug. 2, 1941. He died in February 1968. On May 15, 1976, she married
Charles R. Whiteman, who died in April 1984.
Survivors include: a stepson, Elwood Lee of Fremont; a stepdaughter, LaVonne Bivens of Tiffin; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Oliver, Owen and Forrest Shutt; and four sisters, Flossie Connor, Marjorie Zoll, Alverta Hoover and Emma Smith, are deceased.
Mrs. Whiteman, a graduate of Bloomville High School, had been employed at AlliedSignal in Fostoria for 17 years as a machine operator.
She was a member of the Fostoria Church of the Nazarene.
Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Mark Lafferty officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.
Visitation at the funeral home will be noon-1 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to the Heart or Cancer Fund.
Gary Eugene Keegan
Retired Heinz employee
Gary Eugene Keegan, 58, of Linden Blvd., Fremont, died there, Wednesday April 7, 1999.
He was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Clyde, to Ernest and Loretta (Wahl) Keegan. His mother survives in Clyde. On April 20, 1968, he married
Betty Smith. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Gary A. Keegan of Syracuse, N.Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Charlie (Michelle) Starks of Hilliard; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Marlene) Tornow and Janet Kauble, both of Fremont; and two brothers, Richard Keegan of Clyde and Randy Keegan of Toledo.
His father died this year.
Mr. Keegan, a 1958 Clyde High School graduate, was employed at the Heinz Co. in Fremont for 37 years, retiring in April 1996.
An avid NASCAR racing fan, he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Garry Gosnell officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bernard Tiell, 69, 350 S. Sandusky St., died at 5:03 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo. Arrangements are pending at the Hannay Traunero Funeral Home.
Marcella M. Potteiger

Marcella M. Potteiger, 87, of 200 McKinley Drive, Findlay, died at 2:55 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 1999, at her home.
She was born Oct. 29, 1911, to John and Emma (Geckle) Rumschlag in Fostoria.
Survivors include: her husband, Theodore Potteiger of Findlay; sons, Ronald L. Potteiger of Tiffin, John F. Potteiger of Fostoria, Charles E. Potteiger of Fostoria, Theodore "Pete" Potteiger Jr. of Findlay, Floyd E. Potteiger of Van Buren and Terry Potteiger of Findlay; daughters, Darlene Nagle of Houston, Texas, Frances Dallen of Las Vegas, Nev., and Deborah Kroeschel of Stafford, Va.; brothers, Floyd Rumschlag of Fostoria, Henry Rumschlag of Toledo, Orland "Tubby" Rumschlag of Fostoria, and John Rumschlag of New Riegel; a sister, Eleanor Moffit of Fostoria; 36 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Rumschlag and Charles Rumschlag, a sister, Margaret Clemens, and a son, Robert E. Potteiger.
Mrs. Potteiger was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Findlay.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Interment will be in the St. Wendelin Parish cemetery
Visitation at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A rosary service will be at 7:30.

F. Marion Kretsinger
U.S. Post Office retiree
F. Marion Kretsinger, 90, of Tiffin, died at 8 a.m. Friday, April 9, 1999, at Autumnwood Care Center.
He was born Feb. 9, 1909, to Orvis and Nettie (Weiker) Kretsinger. On April 20, 1946, he married
Alice M. Doran in Tiffin.
He is survived by his wife; brothers, Leland Kretsinger of Georgia and Kenneth Kretsinger of Tiffin; and a number of nieces and nephews. His sister, Joyce Sanford, is deceased.
Mr. Kretsinger, a U.S. Post Office retiree, graduated from Republic High School in 1927 and from Tiffin University in 1929. He was as a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, where he taught Sunday school classes; the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Mad River and NKP Railroad Society. He served in the Army - Pacific Theater during World War II.
The Rev. David Culp will officiate the funeral at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Fairmont cemetery.
Friends may call at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home 5-8 p.m. Sunday.

Robert R. Eyestone

Robert R. Eyestone, 71, of the Autumnwood Care Center, formerly of Clinton Street, died Friday, April 9, 1999.
He was born June 29, 1927, to Harley Ross and Esther (Tavenner) Eyestone of Tiffin. Both are deceased.
He is survived by his brother, Richard A. Eyestone of Orlando, Fla., and a cousin, Luella Parish of Westerville.
Mr. Eyestone, a retired ware grinder at American Standard, was a short wave radio enthusiast. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tiffin.
Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Spring Grove cemetery in Carey. The Rev. Richard E. Mahlmann will officiate at the 2 p.m. memorial service Monday at the First Presbyterian Church. There will be no visitation.
