MOORE William McNulty Moore (Mac), 85, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at Whetstone Care Center. He is survived by wife, Kathryn of Columbus; son, Thomas (Katherine) of Laurel, Md. He is preceded in death by son John. He was retired from Carr Equipment Co. and a Veteran of WW II Army Air Force, serving in the CBI area. He was a graduate of the Columbus Academy and Oberlin University. Member of York Masonic Lodge and Maple Grove United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 7 West Henderson Rd., where the family will receive friends following the service. Rev. OWEN William J. Owen Sr., age 94, of Westerville, Oh. and formerly of Huber Heights and Shawnee, Oh., died Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at Mt. Carmel/St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. Bill was a graduate of Shawnee High School and a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, WW II, serving in the Western Pacific. Retired from Life Insurance National Association of Security Dealers, Bill was the author of "No Such Thing as a Poor American", "Pathfinder Poems" and hundreds of published letters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Evelyn; children, Faith A. (Tom) Harper of Lodi, Calif., William J. (Carol) Owen II of Worthington, Oh. and Sonja J. (Leopoldo) Lovelace of Irvine, Calif.; grandchildren, Lisa (Gregory) Hickman, Sean Owen, Todd Parizzo, Anna Lovelace; great-grandson, Ethan Hickman; 7 step-grandchildren; sisters, E. Marie Orndorf and Marjorie June Duncan, both of Lodi, Calif.; brother, Don A. (Phyllis) Owen of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Beth, brothers Robert and Frank Owen and sister Lillian Miller. PETROZZI Anthony Joseph Petrozzi, age 71, Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was retired from Ohio Bell/Ameritech after 34 years of service. Tony was truly a steward in the communities in which he lived; councilman and mayor of Wintersville, Oh., volunteer for several years with the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Circle of Grandparents in Worthington, and a longtime active member of the St. Michael Parish community. Tony lived his faith in an exemplary Christian life. He is preceded in death by his parents Loreto and Mary Petrozzi, sisters Adeline Paravano and Millie Cassidy and grandson Jacob Campbell. He is survived by Annette, his loving wife of 45 years; daughters, Janice Petrozzi and Lisa (Charles) Campbell; grandson, Joshua Campbell; brothers, Armand (Marie), Rocco (Minda), Louis (Mary), Dominic (Mary Ann), Alphonso (Ellen) and Tillio (Louise); sisters, Pearl Everson and Lucille (James) Riley; many nieces, nephews and good friends. SIGAL Teddy (Zelda June) Sigal, of Columbus, 70, passed away on May 9, 2002. Daughter of Ben and Belle Horowitz of blessed memory. Survived by sister, Shirley and Edward Sohmers; children, Kathy and Stuey Perles of Monsey, N.Y., Bernie and Reta Sigal of Blacklick, Oh., Dr. Marvin Sigal of Charlotte, N.C., Jerry and Laura Sigal of Bexley, Oh.; grandchildren, Deena, Eli, Jen and her husband, Jeff, Belle, Jacob, Halli, Benjamin and Becca. Teddy was a lifelong member of Beth Jacob Congregation. After her career in helping to run the family business and then as a bookkeeper, she retired to enjoy mah jongg and cards, but her greatest pleasures were her children and grandchildren. Teddy became an active volunteer with the Mental Health Association of Franklin County three years ago and was selected as Volunteer of the Year for both 2000 and 2001. Funeral services were held at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL with Rabbi David Stavsky and Cantor Jeffrey Siegel officiating. Shiva to be held at the home of Jerry and Laura. SIMKINS Jean Ellen Harvey Simkins, of Northcrest, died on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 in her home at age 75. Mrs. Simkins was a Certified Nurses Aide, having worked for Visiting Nurses Association for more than 10 years. She was also a licensed beautician. Her husband of 41 years, Frank Albert Simkins Jr., retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, died in November 1986. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Lee Simkins of Northcrest, Frank Albert Simkins III of Brookhaven, Pa., Steven Randall Simkins of Quakertown, Pa. and Wayne Harvey Simkins of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sisters, Ruth Patton of Canal Winchester, Oh., Mabel Franciscus and Danny Antle, both of Columbus, Oh.; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter. WATKINS John "Buddy" Williams Watkins, age 75, of North Ft. Myers, FL and Columbus, OH, died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Hospice House North, Cape Coral, FL. He was an Industrial Arts Teacher in the Columbus Public Schools for over 30 years, primarily at Linmoor Junior High School, retiring in 1985. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from The Ohio State University. John was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Columbus, OH and Messiah Lutheran Church in N. Ft. Myers, FL; the International Technology Education Assoc.; The Ohio State Alumni Assoc.; the Elks Club in Lehigh Acres, FL; V.F.W. Post #4353 in Pine Island, FL. WHITEHURST Anna Maria Whitehurst (Thompson), born August 6, 1924, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at Columbus Health Care Center. ARMSTRONG Lester E. Armstrong, 78, of Oak Hill, formerly of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Chillicothe Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. Born January 16, 1924 in Cambridge, Oh. to the late Samuel and Bertha (Lemmon) Armstrong. Worked for Kroger Co. in Jackson, had been employed by Retail Merchants Trucking and Central Aluminum in Columbus. A veteran of WW II in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors, son, Larry (Sandra) Armstrong of Columbus; sister, Gladys Armstrong of Cambridge; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
