SOUTH AMHERST -- Letty C. Hand (nee Leimbach), 88, of South Amherst, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Community Health Partners Hospital, Lorain, following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Elyria, and lived in South Amherst for more than 50 years. Mrs. Hand was employed as a assistant cook at Henrietta School and had also worked as a machine operator for 10 years at Hamco Manufacturing, Henrietta. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking pastries and playing cards and bingo.

AVON -- Emma J. Bushnell (nee Raimondo), 85, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at her daughter Stephanie's home in Avon, following a brief illness. She was born in Los Angeles, Calif., and lived in Manhattan Beach, Calif., for 50 years. She moved to Avon in November 2005.

SANDUSKY -- M. Patricia "Pat" Fleming, 80, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly Monday, April 24, 2006, at home. She was born March 18, 1926, in Cleveland. She graduated from Milan High School in 1944 and from Providence School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1948.
Patrick Lewis Donoughe
FAIRVIEW PARK -- Patrick Lewis Donoughe, 80, of Fairview Park, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006. He was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Altoona, Pa. Donoughe joined the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, now known as NASA, in 1947. His work with NASA included turbine cooling and nuclear rocket propulsion research and satellite communications experimentation and he directed the staff at NASA's Plum Brook reactor in Sandusky. Donoughe retired from NASA in 1981 but continued working on satellite communication projects for support contractors until 1988. He was author of "Pressure Distributions about Finite Wedges in Bounded and Unbounded Subsonic Streams" and "Nuclear Rocket Systems as an Earth-Satellite Booster." He was involved in community, school and church activities, recorded books on tape for the blind and was an activist on regional transit issues. He was active at St. Joseph Academy and St. Ignatius High School, where he was a past president of the Fathers' Club; and was a member since 1962 and a lector at St. Angela Merici Church, Fairview Park.

DUBLIN -- Dolores "Dee" Martins, age 72, of Dublin, formerly of Avon Lake, died Jan. 2, 2003. She was born Sept. 4, 1930. She was a graduate of Mt. Sinai School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph parish in Avon Lake and recently St. Brigid parish. She enjoyed Lake Erie, books and music. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Baer of Dublin; son Steven Martins of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jeanette Guilianelli; husband, Arthur; and daughter, Judy. Funeral Mass was Jan. 7, 2003, at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, Dublin. The Rev. Jeff Coning and Deacon Frank Iannarino officiated. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army of Lorain County, 2506 Broadway, Lorain 44052.
