Joseph Wyss
HOAGLAND, Ind. - Joseph N. Wyss, 64, Hoagland, died at 12:55 a.m. (Ind. time) Saturday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Allen County, the son of Joseph and Marie (Maldney) Wyss.
In 1988, he married Loretta Lumsden, who survives.
He was a farmer and former employee of Central Soya Co., Decatur.
In 1996, he retired from Chemco., Monroeville, as a truck driver.
He was a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Hessen Castle in Fort Wayne, a founder of Wheels of Yesteryear Club and a former fireman with the Preble Volunteer Fire Department.
Also surviving are two sons, Joseph and Jerold, both of Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Kathleen) Fink of Dayton and Mrs. Dan (Karen) Weber, Decatur; a stepson, James Conley, Fort Wayne; two stepdaughters, Vickie Sprow of Lima and Mrs. Dennis (Penny) Saylor, Payne; a brother, Charles, Hoagland; a sister, Mrs. James (Rosaland) Golden, Hoagland; and 12 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and a great-stepgrandchild.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a daughter, Mary Ann, in infancy.
A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. (Ind. time) Tuesday in Zwick & Jahn Funeral home, Decatur, followed by services at 10 a.m. in the church with Rev. Bob Van Kemper officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. (Ind. time) Monday in the funeral home with a 4 p.m. rosary service.
Preferred memorials are to the church, St. Joseph Catholic School in Decatur or masses.

Marie Meyer
NAPOLEON - Marie A. Meyer, 90, Napoleon, died Saturday night at Napoleon's Lutheran Home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1910, in Henry County's Harrison Township, the daughter of Heinrich and Helen (Meyer) Riebesel.
In 1931, she married Arnold Meyer, who died in 1982.
She was a housekeeper and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon Township, its Ladies' Aid and TOPS of Henry County.
Surviving are two sons, Elden of Napoleon and Maurice, Aurora, Colo.; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Harlan; a brother, Junior Riebesel; and two sisters, Lorena Rickenberg and Hilda Van Pelt.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. David Gensch officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Handling arrangements is Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to Sharing and Caring or a charity of the donor's choice.

Ann Peper
GOSHEN, Ind. - Former Napoleon resident Ann Peper, 83, Goshen, died Saturday evening at Greencroft Nursing Home, Goshen.
She was born Nov. 8, 1916, in Valparaiso, the daughter of Bruno and Rose (Sweeney) Wilscam.
In 1939, she married Robert Peper, who died in 1974.
She was a former real estate salesman for Huner Realty and Auctioneer Service and a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, both in Napoleon.
Surviving are three sons, James of Savannah, Ga., Robert of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Thomas, Los Angeles; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Riverview Memory Gardens with Rev. James Updegraff officiating.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the church.
There will be no visitation.
Handling arrangements is Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to the church.

Kathryn Christy
ARCHBOLD - Kathryn Christy, 95, Archbold, died Monday morning at Fairlawn Haven, Archbold.
She was born Feb. 19, 1905, in Defiance, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Conn) Zeschke.
In 1934, she married Donald Christy, who died in 1979.
She was a member of Archbold United Methodist Church, where she served as church organist.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Schie of Napoleon and Mrs. Howard (Dee) Howlett, Lakewood, N.Y.; a sister, Jane Hoffman, Coronado, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Donald and Richard Zeschke; and two sisters, Helen Schlosser and Mary Seibel.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. Kent Jaquette officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Handling arrangements is Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to the church, Archbold Area Foundation or the Festival of Lights.

Esther Grube
Esther A. Grube, 85, Defiance, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan.
She was born April 3, 1915, in Willard, the daughter of Willis and Lillie (Ewing) Keefer.
In 1950, she married Loyal Grube, who died in 1985.
She worked at First Federal Savings and Loan for 27 years as a loan officer.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Ankney, Defiance; and a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Grace Gerstenberger.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mary Bell
BRYAN - Mary C. Bell, 97, Bryan, died Monday at Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan.
She was born Dec. 17, 1902, in Mt. Sterling, the daughter of Warren and Nancy (Heller) Chambers.
In 1928, she married Francis Bell, who died in 1974. She attended Miami University, graduated from Ohio State University and was a teacher with Bryan City Schools until her retirement.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bryan, Bryan Taine Club, International Friendship Club and Delta Delta Delta.
Surviving are two sons, James of Michigan City, Ind., and David, Cincinnati; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, James, Eldon and Herman; and a sister, Ruth.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the church with Rev. Dwight Bowers officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Handling arrangements is Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Preferred memorials are to the Bryan Area Foundation, Ohio State University F.I. Bell memorial fund or a charity of the donor's choice.

ALFORD, Fla. - Former Napoleon resident Gayle Reed, 96, Alford, died Tuesday evening in Marianna Nursing Home, Marianna.

George Waxler
Services for George L. Waxler were held Monday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman with Rev. Keith Hunsinger officiating.
Music was provided by Pete Schlosser.
Burial was in Riverview Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Dave Hostettler, Steve Buchholz, Ray Meade, Howard Bronson, Pete Schlosser and Charles Goliver.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Bryant, Bob Sanders and Donald Mohr.
