AICHELE Janet Sue Maxwell Aichele, 61, of Pinehurst, NC, died February 17, 2001 at her home. Predeceased by parents Ruth and Bill Maxwell of Cannelville, Oh. She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen; loving children, Lori (Gordon) Roberts of Ottawa, Ontario, Dave (Kim) Aichele of Charlotte, NC, Christina (Tom) Rica of Hawthorne, NJ; three adoring grandsons, Alec, Willis, Justin; four brothers, Jerry Maxwell of Columbus, Oh., Stephen Maxwell of Dover, Oh., Virgil Maxwell of Columbus, Oh. and Daniel Maxwell of Zanesville, Oh. She was very proud of her 35 years of nursing service in a variety of hospitals throughout the country. Her many interests included the Sophisticated Ladies Dance Group, membership in P.E.O., quilting, golf, and volunteer activities, as well as total family involvement. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 20 at 1 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst, NC. BOLES FUNERAL HOME of PINEHURST is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in which she received her early Christian education: Cannelville United Methodist Church, c/o Harriet Smith, 3463 Cannelville Road, Roseville, OH 43777.

BAUSCH Floyd E. Bausch, age 85, formerly of Columbus, died Friday, February 16, 2001 at the Ohio Veteran's Home in Sandusky, Ohio. Veteran U.S. Army WWII. Survived by brother-in-law and 2 nephews. Graveside service with interment 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2001, Union Grove Cemetery, Canal Winchester. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL.

BEAVERS Aldon "Al" Beavers, age 72, Saturday, Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Retired carpenter Local #200. Member AmVets and Al Beaver's Belshuer Mountain Blue Grass Band. Veteran World War II and Korean Conflict, U.S. Army. Loved blue grass music. Survived by loving wife, Elsie; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Tom Sandera of Columbus, Rhonda and Jim Gerhart of Delaware; 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; sister, Julie Stevenson; brothers, Phil, Elbert, Charlie, and Michael Beavers, all of Virginia. Preceded in death by son Bruce Aldon Beavers; brothers Theodore and Lloyd Beavers. Friends may call Sunday and Monday 6-8 p.m., EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. BERTRAM James J. Bertram, 83, of Reynoldsburg, Oh. and Sebring, Fla. passed away Friday, February 16, 2001 at Select Specialty Hospital, OSU East after a tough battle with emphysema and pneumonia. Jim is a veteran of WWII having served in Patton's 3rd Army. Retired from DSCC and US Army Reserve. He is a former long time member of Highlands Golf Club. He is survived by wife of 35 years, Carol N. Bertram; sisters, Betty (Amp) Hayden, Euless, Tex., Nancy Zoderer, Indianapolis, In.; brother, Maury (Romilda) Bertram, Albuquerque, NM; step-daughter, Nancy Jean (Ray) Mauger, Pataskala, Oh.; eight nieces; eleven nephews and four step-grandchildren. His memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 22 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston, Columbus, Oh. Reverend Wayne A. Zavotka officiating. The family will receive friends 1/2 hour before service. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to American Lung Association, Mid-Ohio, 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43228. Interment will take place at a later date.

BIRKHEAD Edward Birkhead, age 94, of Grove City, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2001 at Brown Memorial Nursing Home, Circleville. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Verna, son Richard and son-in-law Carl Poling, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Julianne "Judie" Poling; daughter-in-law, Judy Birkhead; grandchildren, Debbie (Jim) Hoover, Craig (Helena) Birkhead, Brock (Kathy) Poling and Brant (Susan) Poling; great-grandchildren, Megan and Kristan Hoover, Haley and Damon Birkhead, Nathan, Olivia, Jenna and Sarah Poling; brother, Walker Birkhead. Funeral Service 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, with Pastor Steve Wachtman officiating. Interment at Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point. Friends may call on the family on Tuesday morning, one hour prior to the service.

BLACKSHEAR LaMonica Reene Blackshear, age 20, unexpectedly. A graduate of West High School 1998 and Bradford University 1999. a former employee of Family Practice West and was currently employed as a Medical Assistant for OSU Stoneridge. A faithful worshiper of Agape Family Worship Center. Survived by son, Tyree Stewart; mother, Diana Roddy; father, Kevin Braxton; sister, LaNora Williams; brother, Troy Williams; grandparents, Ernest and Barbara Blackshear; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral 7 p.m. Monday at the Agape Family Worship Center, 385 Miller, Pastor Gregory Tolliver, Officiant. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service. BRENNER Thomas L. Brenner, 78, Sunbury, Friday, February 16, 2001. Memorial service will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. at Condit Presbyterian Church, 15102 Hartford Rd., Sunbury. Family will greet friends 1 hour before the service and are invited to join the family for dinner following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the church. COTTRELL Mark Cottrell, age 45, of Grovy City, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2001 at The Ohio State Medical Center. Arrangements are being completed with MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City.

CULVER Miss Elizabeth L. Culver, age 31, Thursday, February 15, 2001 at O.S.U. Hospital. Born July 7, 1969 to John Flewellen and Anita Culver. DICKERSON John W. Dickerson Sr., age 89, of Stygler Village, Gahanna, died Friday, February 16, 2001 at University Hospital. Born August 20, 1911 in Harpersville, Alabama to parents Benjamin and Emma Dickerson. Retired from Claycraft Brick Co. A former member of the Ohio National Guard and a member of Amvets Post #89. Preceded in death by parents; son John W. Dickerson Jr. and brother George Dickerson. Survived by wife of 51 years, Neomi Dickerson; daughters, Norma Jean Riser of Columbus, Joann and husband, Race Harder of Columbus, Deborah Somdahl of Reynoldsburg; stepdaughters, Joyce Chrysler of Columbus, Nancy and husband, David Stewart of Johnstown, Patricia DeVault of Johnstown; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Emery Kitzmiller of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Margaret Dickerson of Graysville, Ala. and Dorothy Shirk of Gahanna; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. DILLION Virginia Catherine (Arnett) Dillion, 69, of London, died Saturday in the Madison County Hospital. Formerly employed as a Therapeutic Program worker at the Central Ohio Psychiatric Hospital in Columbus. Survived by son, Ralph (Nanette) Dillion, Jr. of London; daughter, Anita (Joe) Pittenger of Hilliard; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Lilly Marie Ricks of Circleville; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the EBERLE FUNERAL HOME, London. Interment in Paint Township Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.

DeLAY Harry J. DeLay Jr., 65, died Friday, February 16, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. He is survived by loving wife, Barbara; sons, H. Michael (Linda) DeLay and Mark J. (Becky) DeLay; daughter, Kathi L. (Dennis) Manning; grandchildren, Michael DeLay, Joseph DeLay, Brian DeLay, Chelsea DeLay and Kortney Manning; mother, Ada (Snyder) DeLay; sister, Patricia Linn; nieces and nephews; many friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by father Harry J. DeLay Sr. and granddaughter Jacklyn DeLay. ERK Gladys M. (Weber) Erk, age 97, born August 30, 1903 and passed from this world on February 17, 2001. She had resided with her daughter in Sarasota, Fla. since 1993. Preceded in death by husband Kennard R. Erk. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and Jerry Coburn of Sarasota, Fla.; 3 grandchildren, Chris Walker and her husband, Robert of Atlanta, Ga., Donald Coburn and his, wife, Patti, of Sarasota, Fla, and Chip Coburn and his wife, Tiffany, of Orlando, Fla; 3 great-grandchildren, Bradley and Emily Walker of Atlanta, Ga., and Kristi Jo Coburn of Sarasota, Fla.; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and church family. Gladys was a member of St. Paul Luthern Church, New Rome, and a current member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Sarasota, Fla. Galilei, August 10, 1987; also preceded by sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rose and Louis Di Paolo. Sofia is a charter member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She held membership in St. Andrew's Women's Club, Focolare Movement, Mello Naires of St. Matthias, Amici D'Oro, S.F.I. Auxiliary, Damen Sektion of the Columbus Maennerchor, Wing 54 of Nightingale Cottage, Guilianova Teramo Auxiliary, O-NI-KA-PA Alumni of Camp Fire, Inc. She was the founder of the Northwest Civic Association. Sofia is survived by her children, Jerry Edward of Byron, Mich., Michael (Beverly) of Parker, Colo., Christopher A. (Vicki) and Therese M. (Donald) Roush, all of Columbus; grandchildren, David A. GAMMELL Melvin E. Gammell, of Reynoldsburg, was born October 18, 1921, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2001. He was retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 189, member of VFW, was an MP during WWII with the U.S. Air Force. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Gammell; brother Earl; sisters Rucille and Almeda; and an infant son. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Kendra Gammell; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Steve Nole; grandchildren, Matthew, Allison and Elizabeth Nole, Scott and Austin Gammell; brother, Dave Gammell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
