Survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth; 7 children, Dr. Carol (Ron) Lebeiko of Dublin, Oh., Bruce (Jean) Hyslop of Hilliard, Oh., Dr. Grace (Adolph) Christ, New York City, N.Y., Ronald (Julia) Hyslop of Bethel Park, Pa., Cynthia (Blair Davis) Tinapple of Worthington, Oh., Joy (Ron) Harbert of St. Clairsville, Oh., Cheryl (Robert) Picha of Elmhurst, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Hyslop and Florence Clarquist; many nieces and nephews. Jones Rebecca M. Jones, age 82, of Grove City, passed away Friday, February 2, 2001 at Sun Rise on the Scioto Care Center. Rebecca assisted her husband for many years in his Veterinary practice. Preceded in death by husband Dr. Robert Jones, son Robert L. Jones, parents Martin I. and Effie G. (Miller) Snider, brother Lawrence R. Snider, sister Florene Compton. Survived by daughter, Patty Jones; grandchildren, Kim (Ty) Weber, Kris (Don) Ford, Stephen Jones, all of Grove City, Michelle (Bob) Handley of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Cole and Peyton Weber, Dalton and Cody Ford; sister, Irene Newhouse of Kirkwood, Mo.; sister-in-law, Dottie (Harold) Douglas; daughter-in-law, Margaret Jones; 2 nephews; 2 nieces. KUHN Bessie N. Kuhn, age 96, of Pickerington, died Sunday, February 4, 2001, at Arbors East Care Center. She is survived by her son, Jack C. (Janet) Kuhn of Pickerington; grandchildren, Roberta "Bobbi" (Daniel) Gaines of Groveport, Jack C. Kuhn II of Dublin, Thomas W. (Sandra) Kuhn, Betsy A. (William) Hinterschied, and Timothy A. (Lisa) Kuhn, all of Pickerington; great-grandchildren, Jake, Adam, Daniel, Nathan, Shawn, Jon, David, and Billy; sister-in-law, Bernice Casto, Bexley, Oh. Bessie was preceded in death by husband Harry S. Kuhn, daughter Joyce, her parents, brothers, sisters, and her daughter-in-law Erma Jean Kuhn. LAEUFER Diana Basinger Laeufer, age 69, of Columbus, passed away Monday, February 5, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born March 27, 1931 in Lima, Oh., the daughter of the late Dr. Harvey L. and Bettye Clark Basinger. She was a graduate of Laurel School For Girls, Cleveland, Oh. and University of Cincinnati, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta. She retired from U.S. Census Bureau in 1997. Previously, she was a hematologist at O.S.U. and Children's Hospital, Columbus. She was an entrepreneur in the fast food industry-owning the second Taco Bell east of the Mississippi River. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eric B. and Sarah Laeufer; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and John Welsh, all of Columbus; granddaughters, Sarah, Maddie, Linda and Heather; mother-in-law, Madeleine Laeufer; sisters, Linda Laeufer Basinger, Lima, OH., Martha Carmean, Bellefontaine, OH. Diana was preceded in death by her husband Barney J. Laeufer in 1986 and brother H. Taggart Basinger in 1992. She was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and also a member of Twig # 69, Children's Hospital. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2001 at St. Johns's Episcopal Church, 700 High Street, Worthington. Dr. Arthur Hadley officiating. Committal service 3 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, Oh. LANE Herbert James Lane, age 76, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2001 at Laurels of Worthington. He loved billiards and participated in several billiard leagues. Survived by wife of 32 years, Carol; daughters, Vicki (Chris) Davis of Gahanna and Virginia McCrary of Delaware; sons, Stacy Lane of Columbus, Douglas Grashel and Jorge Grashel; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne (Don) Poreman; brothers, Butch, David and Ted; many nieces and nephews. LINDSEY Faye Lindsey, age 71, of Logan, Oh., February 4, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center West, Columbus, Oh. Born July 9, 1929 in Hocking Co., Oh., Russell R. Beery and Bertha Mae Nimon Beery. Graduate of Logan High School and of the former Bustin Beauty School of Columbus. Survived by husband of 52 years, Leroy C. Lindsey; son, Robert L. (Anita E.) Lindsey of Logan; daughters, Carol D. Lindsey of Logan and Mrs. Mark (Cheri) Smith of Nelsonville; 6 grandchildren. MASDEA Lillian B. Masdea, age 65, departed this life Sunday February 4, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Born June 8, 1935. She is preceded in death by parents James and Angela Bellinfante and granddaughter Lauren Howe. She leaves to cherish her memory six devoted children, Ann, Angela, Ted, Theresa, John, and Jim; sisters, Marie Ziobro and Judy Davis; 14 loving grandchildren, Jonathan 17, Jennifer 16, Tyler 14, Ryan 13, Ian 10, James 10, Jessica 8, Gina 8, Justine 7, Jordan 6, Anna 6, Anthony 5, Sarah 5, and Michael 3; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and all who loved her. Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Angelina Micalizzi, brother Michael and sister Theresa. Survived by sisters, Sister Anna Letizza, Josephine Lacalamita, Katherine (Frank) Castellano, Helen (Ralph) Affinito; sister-in-law, Mary Micalizzi; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. MILLER Robert K. Miller, 60, of Columbus, died Saturday February 3, 2001 in Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Preceded in death by first wife Raccine, father Albert, brothers Carlton and Rodney. Survived by mother, Letha Miller; children, Robert A. Miller, Tronnie Miller and Sharine Miller; sisters, Wilma Adams, Barbara (Dairl) Gillespie, Pat (Ward) Runkle, Sandy (Paul) Compton, all of Columbus; brothers, Kenneth (Judy) Miller, TN., Richard (Kim) Miller, TN. and David Miller, Grove City; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rebecca Kay Miller. McDONALD Capt. Jerry R. McDonald, U.S.N., retired, 59, of the 1200 block of Botetourt Gardens, passed away on Saturday evening, February 3, 2001 in his residence. Jerry was born and raised in Columbus, Oh. and graduated from Linden-McKinley High School. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in anthtropology and a masters degree in Public Administration. Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963 and served as a fire control technician aboard the aircraft carriers, Randolph, Lexington and the Intrepid. He was commissed as an Officer and Gentleman in the Navy in 1968. He served in the Cuban Missile Blockade, Viet Nam in 1969, Mariel Cuban Boat Operations of 1980, Lebanon, Beirut during the 1983 bombing of the Marine barracks, and in Bahrain during the tanker wars of 1988. Capt. McDonald served a total of 29 years in the Navy, 19 of them forward deployed. He had 4 major commands, Commanding Officer of U.S.S. Shakori (AFT-162); U.S.S. Portland (LSD-37) and U.S.S. LaSalle (AGF-3), and Commandre of Amphibious Squadron Six. Following retirement from the Navy in 1991, Jerry with his partner, Matthew H. Lipkin, built Marpol, a wastewater management company, Bay Gulf Trading and Seaforce Marine. He is survived by his parents, Jeanne and Joe McDonald of Columbus, Oh.; his beloved wife of 33 years, Julie Ogle McDonald of Norfolk; sister, Judith McDonald of Columbus, Oh.; his beloved daughter, Ellen McDonald and son-in-law, Joseph Bondi; and his grandchildren, Emily Grace Bondi and Claire Emma Bondi, all of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Margaret McDonald, his aunt Katherine McDonald and his mother-in-law Mary Ogle. A funeral service will be conducted with full military honors at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 in the Ft. Meyer Old Post Chapel in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Box 21, 2101 Executive Dr., Hampton, Va. 23666 or to the donor's favorite charity.
