PENTZ Jerry L. Pentz, 73, of Jefferson Lane, Waverly, Oh., formerly of North Columbus, Oh., passed away 8:46 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001. He was born on February 15, 1928 in Franklin Co. to David and Minnie Grubbs Pentz, who preceded him in death. He was married to Margaret Ellen Crawford on July 10, 1950. She also preceded him in death on November 10, 1992. He is survived by 2 sons, Jerry L. Pentz of Columbus, Oh. and Mark D. (Skip) Pentz of Waverly, Oh.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Donald (Vickie) Dennison of Obetz, Oh. and Mrs. Randal (Kitten) Hammond of Waverly, Oh.; several nieces and nephews; 4 granddaughters; 7 grandsons; 6 great-grandchildren. Jerry is loved by all who knew him. He will be missed by all his family and friends. He was a member of local Teamsters Union 413 for 35 years and was a 25 year member of the Teamsters Golf League. He also was a 5 year member of the Eagles Lodge #2227 of Waverly. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at BOTKIN FUNERAL HOME, Waverly with Rev. Steve Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Union Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

PORTER Gertrude C. Porter, 93, of Pickerington, Oh., formerly of Gallipolis, Oh., died Monday, March 26, 2001 at the Pickerington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 21, 1907 in Sanish, N.D., daughter of the late Henry and Lola Mae Archer Shong. Retired from The G.S.I. with over 30 years of service. Member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Gallipolis, Oh. Preceded in death by parents, 1st husband Vance Clark, 2nd husband Curtis Porter, brother Lawrence Shong and sister Hazel Higbee. Survived by daughter, Linda Clark Bowen, Pickerington, Oh.; grandsons, Michael D. Bowen, Kansas City, Mo. and Christopher D. Bowen, Pickerington, Oh.; step-children, Harold Porter, Wichita, Kan., John Porter, Akron, Oh., Bill Porter, Pt. Pleasant, W.Va. and JoAnn Downey, New York, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Pluma Shong, Gallipolis, Oh.; nephew, Larry Shong, Gallipolis, Oh. Visitation 11 a.m. Friday at WILLIS FUNERAL HOME, Gallipolis, where funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bob Fulton officiating. Burial Ridgelawn Cemetery, Mercerville, Oh.

PORTER Roger K. Porter, age 47, passed away on December 31, 2000 in Bowling Green, Ky. Survived by mother, Lily Porter, 313-934-9342.

RECOB Dorothy A. Recob, age 90, died Monday, March 26, 2001 at Knox Community Hospital, Mt. Vernon, Oh. Member of Parkview United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her friends and crossword puzzles. Preceded in death by husband Harold; son Robert; daughter Marilyn Flowers and grandson Bret Niven. Survived by daughters, Jean (Ralph) Niven and Jo Ann Gibbs; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service Friday 11:30 a.m. SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street, where friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. Rev. Lowell Headley officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society in her memory.

RINEHARD Frances E. Rinehard, 87, died Monday March 26, 2001 in Columbus Community Hospital. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church. Preceded in death by parents John Rinehard and Anna Rinehard Weidner, step-father Gust Weidner. Survived by brothers, John (Marjorie) Rinehard, Carl (Alice) Rinehard; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where funeral service will be held Friday 12noon. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.

ROSSING Robert J. Rossing, age 74, of Westerville, Sunday, March 25, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Retired Electrical Engineer for Rockwell International. Charter member of Ohio LST/Amphibs Association. U.S. Navy Veteran, WW II. Preceded in death by parents Adolph and Catherine Rossing, sister Elizabeth Donelson. Survived by loving wife, Eleanor M.; sons, Douglas J. of Westerville, James P. of New York; granddaughter, Natalie Rossing of New York; brothers, John and Arthur; sisters, Florence Resnik, all of Pa., Ruth Lardin of Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Rd., Westerville, Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville. Graveside service and burial will be held 2:30 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Oh.

RUTH C. Donald Ruth, 59, died Monday, March 26, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Survived by his niece, Tina (Steve) Holtzapfel; 2 great-nieces, Courtney and Stephanie Holtzapfel. Preceded in death by his parents Alvah and Irene Ruth, brother Jim Ruth, nephew Patrick Joseph Ruth. Family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. Graveside service and interment 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 at Mifflin Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes. Association in his memory.

SEARS Charlene Dionne Sears, the only daughter of Lt. Col. (Retired) Charles Walter and Katherine C. Sears, was born July 24, 1959 in Neu-Brucke, Germany. Her father was stationed in Germany with the United States Army at the time. She was educated in the military elementary school system in Germany and secondary public schools of Hilliard, Oh. She graduated from Hilliard High in the Class of 1977. Charlene attended The Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College during 1985-1992. While a senior in Hilliard High School, Charlene was stricken with a severe mental condition that adversely affected her life for 24 years. In the Spring of 2000, Charlene was diagnosed with colon cancer, her condition gradually worsened. In October 1982, Charlene gave birth to Daniel Oliver Sears and he has been her pride and joy. In her teen years, Charlene was a very good scholastic track star and Daniel has followed that lead, having been successful in track at Thomas Worthington High School and now at Norfolk State University. Throughout her life Charlene demonstrated excellent skill as an artist; she produced many paintings and her work as a sculptor is on display at her parents home in Hilliard, Oh. Charlene was a gifted musician; she played the violin for many years. Charlene leaves to cherish her memory, her only son, Daniel Oliver Sears; her parents, Lt. Col. (Retired) Charles W. and Katherine Sears; 2 brothers, Walter Albert Sears (Jacque) of Pleasanton, Calif., Major Emanuel Oliver Sears (Lezandra) of Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.; 14 aunts, Dr. Evelyn S. Peevy (Goldmon), Norfolk, Va., Floretta S. Thomas, Norfolk, Va., Eunice S. Frazier (William), Hampton, Va., Lucy S. McCra (Bob), Phoenix, Ariz., Lula S. Rogers (William), Chesapeake, Va., Ida Magby (Jim), Detroit, Mich., Edith Williams, Gladys Winston (Roy), Plain City, Oh., Ruth Manigo (Joe), Columbus, Oh., Marie Hilliard, Shirley Johnson, Jacqueline White (Sterling), Columbus, Oh., Onnye J. Sears, Atlanta, Ga., Ruth L. Sears, Norfolk, Va.; 3 uncles, Odell Harvey Sears, New York City, Newell Conley, Columbus, Oh., Robert Conley (Darlene), Columbus, Oh. Additionally, Charlene is survived by 4 nieces and nephews; 59 cousins; and many extended family members and dear friends particularly Gail Mock Nutter, Minnie Hickey, Cindy P. Askey. SILAS Norma Ruth Silas (Blackford), of Columbus, Saturday, March 24, 2001 at home. Preceded in death by her husband Wyndol E. Silas. Survived by daughter, Susan of Houston, TX; son, Todd (Gretchen) of Columbus; beloved granddaughter, Ashley Davis of Houston, TX; brother, Frank (Anna) Blackford of Columbus. Alumna of Asbury College and the University of Kentucky, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in romance languages and a Master of Library Science. Norma enjoyued square and round dancing with the Orviting Squares, Satellites Round and Happy Trails Country Western dance clubs. Family will receive friends at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2001 with a short service to follow.

SNASHALL Miriam Jeanette Allen Snashall, born to mother, Nellie K. Allen and father, Harry J. Allen on September 10, 1925 in the presence of God in Lancaster, Pa. Welcomed by Jesus Christ into heavenly life, March 25, 2001. Preceded in death by 7 sisters and 5 brothers and special nephew, Sonny Allen. She is survived by loving husband, William R. Snashall; children, Carol (Ted) Mackey, Beverly (Mike) Rees, Bill (Chris) Snashall, Bob (Dori) Snashall and Larry (Robin) Snashall. Miriam is also survived by grandchildren, Amy and Mike Rees, Jackie, Billy, Erin, Ryan Shelby and Samantha Miriam Snashall; numerous nieces and nephews; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and lifetime friend, Mary Aardrup Blakeslee. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful assistance of the Mt. Carmel Hospice Organization, especially Jackie, Katherine, Dawn, Janet, Susan and Sherry. Miriam was a devoted Christian, and an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grove City. Her many accomplishments include being a member of the national high score bowling team in 1975. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada as well as watching her children's and grandchildren's sports activities. Pastor Donald Allman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. SPEAKMAN Charles E. Speakman, age 61, of Canal Winchester, Tuesday March 27, 2001. Survived by wife, Rita; children, Barbara, Paul, Edith Ann, Anthony, Brenda and Bruce; mother, Betty Largan; sister and brothers. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Pastor Thomas McGranor officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service.

WARNER Paul L. Warner, age 57, died Sunday, March 25, 2001 at his residence. Veteran U.S. Army, Korean Conflict and Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Member of V.F.W. Post #495. Survived by wife of 24 years, Flo; daughter, Tina LeVance; grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle and Cassie; brother, Gene (Kathy) Warner; sister, Lana Joyce Holsapple; brothers-in-law, James M. ANGIULO (LEISTNER) Donna Leistner Angiulo, age 42, of Upper Arlington, Went to be one of God's angels on Monday, March 26, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was an artist who specialized in sculpting clay and glass works. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Jim Angiulo; parents, Martha and Jim Sheets of Upper Arlington; sister, Nancy Leistner of Hilliard; several aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. A 1976 graduate of Upper Arlington High School, she graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education in 1980 and attended O.S.U. School of Business. As an artist, she studied extensively at Museum of Fine Arts School and Mass. College of Art in Boston, MA. and the National Academy of Art in New York City. Donna was former president and member of Westwood Acres Community Organization and an avid quilter, reader and gardener. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001. The Rev. Vicky Smith officiating.
