David C. Ford, 76, of Franklin Street, Auburn, died Sunday at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center in Auburn. Born in Petersburg, Pa., he received a master's degree from State University College at Cortland. He taught math and computer science at Cayuga Community College and math at Central High School, both in Auburn. He was a former Scoutmaster at Booker T. Washington Community Center in Auburn and a member of the Auburn Lakelanders, a barbershop quartet. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Auburn. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.Survivors: His wife, the former Joyce Elliott; a daughter, Rebecca J. Alfred W. Hubbard, 77, formerly of Simeon Dewitt Apartments, Oswego, died Sunday in St. Luke's Health Services, Oswego. Born in Scriba, he lived in Fulton for more than 20 years. He was an iron worker with Iron Workers Local 60 in Syracuse. He was a member of American Legion Post 268 in Oswego and a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 569 in Fulton. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Angela Procopio, and a son, Alfred Jr., died previously.Survivors: Two daughters, Susan V. Roy A. Paul, 50, of RD 1, Oneida died Sunday of kidney failure. Born in Shreveport, La., he attended Canastota schools and graduated from Cuba High School in Illinois. Marguerite A. "Peg" Cater Bertrand, 91, of Manlius Home for Adults, Manlius, died Monday at Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville. Born in Morristown, she had also lived in Clayton. She attended Morristown schools, graduated from Clayton High School and attended Potsdam Normal School. She was a homemaker and had been a hostess at Clayton Golf Club. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Clayton Calumet Chapter 274 since 1937 and had been its worthy matron. She also was right worthy grand color bearer of the Grand Chapter of the state OES and was a former member of Clayton United Methodist Church.Survivors: Her husband of 35 years, Alvah A.; a daughter, Kay M. Donald I. Clark, 77, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Monday of coronary artery disease. Born in Fulton, he lived in Central New York until moving away in 1987. He was a crane operating engineer for Operating Engineers of Local 545 in Syracuse for 50 years. William D. "Bill" Clement, 88, of Springbrook Apartments, Pulaski, died Tuesday. Born in Pulaski, he was a life resident of the Pulaski area. He graduated from Pulaski High School. He was superintendent of Springbrook Apartments from 1972 to 1986 and had worked for Frink's Snowplow in Clayton. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge 416 and Ringgold Fire Department, both in Pulaski. His wife, the former Amelia A. Kellar, died in 1997.Survivors: A daughter, Rosalie A. Edward G. Compton, 79, of North Syracuse died Tuesday. Born in Elbridge, he spent winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., for the past 10 years. He was maintenance supervisor for Allied Chemical in Solvay for 40 years until the plant closed in 1985. He was a member of Edwards-Wevers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7290 in North Syracuse and Riverside Country Club in Brewerton. Michael O. Lennon, 74, of Massena died Nov. 13. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Manlius High School and from Central Tech in Syracuse as a tool and die maker. He worked at Precision Castings in Fayetteville and Carrier Corp. in Syracuse before moving to Massena in 1959. Howard F. "Mac" McCarthy, 90, of Clearwater, Fla., died Nov. 19 of heart failure. Born in Taunton, Mass., he lived in Syracuse, Eastwood and Cortland more than 30 years before moving away in 1977. He attended Taunton High School. He retired in 1977 as owner and operator of McCarthy's 5&10. He was a charter member of On Top of the World Kiwanis Club in Clearwater and a member of First Universalist Church in Syracuse.
