Born in Syracuse, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in North Syracuse and its Take Pounds Off Sensibly group. She was a former member of Mattydale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her husband, Louis, died in 1991.Survivors: A daughter, Sharon Sergart of Florida; four sons, Alan Sager of North Syracuse, Robert and David, both of Liverpool, and Ronald of Cicero; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild. Crawford "Stan" Stanford, 73, of 116 Dawes Ave., Syracuse, died Tuesday. Born in Chapel Hill, N.C., he graduated from public schools there. He was a cabinet maker and worked at Schaack Fabricating. He worked for Sandmill Furniture in West End, N.C. for 23 years until moving to Syracuse. He worked for Stanton Foundry, Syracuse, and was a former member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.Survivors: His wife of 24 years, the former Ruby M. Hill; four daughters, Rose M. Harris of Jackson Springs, N.C., Clara M. Bessie Lane Cole, 95, of 100 Summerfield Lane, Onondaga Hill, died Tuesday. Born in Amber, she spent winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., for 20 years. She retired in 1965 after 20 years in sales with W.T. Grant in Syracuse. She was a life member of Excelsior Grange in Navarino and was a member of Navarino United Methodist Church. Her husband, Donald, died in 1993. Frederica June "Rita" Bagby Harder, 80, of 311 Maple St., Syracuse, died Wednesday. Born in Syracuse, she graduated from Central High School and attended Cornell University. She retired in 1986 as a supervisor in the accounting department of Bell Atlantic after more than 40 years. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, where she was superintendent of Sunday school, financial secretary, and a member of its choir. She had worked in the church's food pantry and served on a committee for the homebound. She was a member of the Syracuse chapter of Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority and the English Speaking Union and was a member of Bell Atlantic Pioneers.Survivors: A sister, Rosalyn A. He was a member of Truxton United Methodist Church and was its former treasurer. He was a member of Cortland Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He was designated as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Cortland Rotary Breakfast Club. Joseph W. Weinberg, 85, of 720 Fellows Ave., Syracuse, died Tuesday of cancer. Born in Maspeth, he graduated from City College of New York, received a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley. He retired in 1984 as a professor of physics at Syracuse University after 15 years. He won the Gravity Research Foundation Prize and the American Association of Physics Teachers first prize for undergraduate laboratory apparatus. He founded Friends of Schola and received the Cultural Resources Council award for service to the arts.Survivors: His wife of 61 years, the former Merle Hoesly; two sons, Crispin B. of Brookline, Mass., and Tobias M. of Belmont, Mass.; three grandchildren.
