Mrs. Therese S. Mosenteen 85 of 6 Oak Street Dolgeville, died unexpectedly Monday April 25, 20011 at her residence of natural causes.
A lifelong resident of Dolgeville, she was born here on July 26, 1925 the daughter of Peter and Gertrude (Nash) Servidone and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1943.
Therese was employed by Adirondack Bat Company of Dolgeville retiring from there in 1966.
She was united in marriage to Gus F. Mosenteen on November 16, 1966 in St. Joseph’s Church Dolgeville. Mr. Mosenteen predeceased her on July 18, 1988.
Therese was a faithful communicant of St. Josephs Church Dolgeville.
She is survived by her cousins Alice Marie Pasquarelli and her husband Frank of Tribes Hill, New York, and John Connor and his wife Janet of Dolgeville and their families, and her friends Marcia Bowers, Alice and Bill Fake and her neighbors.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11 AM at St. Josephs Church Dolgeville. Calling hours are on Friday from 5-7 PM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery.

Helen Borowicz
MOHAWK - Helen Borowicz, age 81, of Mohawk, NY, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Arden Courts Assisted Living Facility, Tampa, FL.
She was born in Richfield Springs, NY, the daughter of Charles and Martha Karpowich, and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. She was married to John Borowicz in E. Herkimer in 1949 and was predeceased by him in 2008. Prior to retirement, Helen was a long-time employee of Morrisville-Eaton Central School District.
Survivors include her son, Bob Borowicz and his wife, Lisa, of Tampa, FL; her daughter, Doreen Borowicz, and grandson, Devon Mancini, of Lake George, NY; her sisters, Mary Alexczuk, of Mohawk, and Rose Merrick and her husband, Frank, of Mohawk; her brothers, John Karpowich, of Ilion, Kazmir Karpowich and his wife, Eleanor, of Mohawk, and Art Karpowich and his wife, Coke, of Richfield Springs, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann Entwistle.
Calling hours are Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home’s new location at 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion. A Graveside Service for family members will immediately follow at the Mohawk Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of CNY. Envelopes are available at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home.
The Borowicz family has entrusted all service arrangements and supervision to their family Funeral Director, Don Applegate.
Alice M. Jones

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mrs. Alice M. Jones, 81, a resident of Folts Home and formerly of St. Johnsville, entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2011 at Little Falls Hospital.
She was born on December 25, 1929 in Pulaski, NY, daughter of the late Truman D. and Julia (Sulia) Guinup. On March 1, 1957 she was united in marriage with Henry Jones. Their loving union lasted 12 years until his passing in 1969. She worked as a laborer for Lexington Center in Gloversville.
Alice was very family oriented. Her family meant everything to her. She was the most caring and loving person in the world. She had such a kind heart she would help anybody who needed her assistance. She absolutely loved Christmas. She lived and loved Christmas 24/7 365 days a year.
Survivors include her daughter Theresa Bennett and her husband George ; her sons Henry Jones and his wife Teresa of Herkimer and David Jones of Oklahoma; her grandkids: Stephanie Callanhan and her husband Fred, Nick Bennett and his wife August, George Bennett, Chris Bennett, Bernie Bennett, Alex Jones, Tiarra Jones, Samantha Jones and her fiancé Jason Bryant and Racheal Jones, her many great grandchildren; her brothers: Truman John Guinup, Allan Guinup, Elmer Guinup, Clifford Guinup, Elvin Guinup and Raymond Guinup; her sisters: Virginia Shipley and Bonny Broadbrent; and her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Timothy Jones, her brothers: Clarence (Bob) Guinup and Charles Guinup; her sisters: Evelina Munn, Shirley Dygert, Barbara Jean Guinup and Pinola Guinup; and her grandsons: Timothy Bennett and Private 1st Class David Jones.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St. St. Johnsville from 2-5pm on Thursday, April 28, 2011. A religious service will be held at the funeral home at 12pm on Friday, April 29, 2011 with the Rev. David A. Johnson officiating. Her burial will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11am at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. The family is being cared for by John P. Lewandowski, funeral director.
Beverly A. Jacobs
ILION - Beverly A. Jacobs, 78 of Brook Street, passed away in her sleep at the Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 after a long illness.
Beverly was born in Troy, NY in 1933 and was a long time resident in the Mohawk Valley during her adult years. Beverly was employed by multiple generations of families as a housekeeper and babysitter and was best known for her love of those children.
Beverly enjoyed singing, choir, travel, boating, swimming, card games, knitting, beading, and sewing. She was a member of the Valley Health Center’s Bell Ringing Choir and attended New Life Church and Ministry Center in Herkimer, NY
She is survived by her son Joe Talcott, Herkimer, NY; her sister Lois Jacobs of Poughkeepsie, NY and the many families, individuals and friends that were fortunate enough to have her part of their lives.
Calling hours and a memorial service will be at the Applegate- Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd. Ilion, NY, from 3-6 pm April 30, 2011. A religious service will be held at 4:30pm on Saturday, April 30, 2011 with Deacon Mike Sweet officiating.
Flowers and/or donations to the Herkimer Area Resource Center, Valley Health Services or the YMCA’s Child Advocacy Center of Herkimer County in Beverly’s name would be greatly appreciated.

He was found at the bottom of a 137-foot drop at Pratt's Falls Park in Pompey after a fire destroyed the main office building at the park where he was caretaker. He was born in Norwich. Eugene E. "Gene" Attleson of Cortland died Thursday of cancer. Born in Galesburg, Ill., he graduated from Cortland High School and received a master's degree from Ithaca College School of Music. He was a teacher at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, State University College at Cortland and University of Bridgeport.
