Kenneth M. Humphrey
SALISBURY CENTER Mr. Kenneth M. Humphrey, 78, of 291 State Route 29A, Salisbury Center, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at his residence after a brief illness. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Dibble-Tuttle Cemetery on the Emmonsburg Road, town of Salisbury, with the Rev. Robert Jeffers, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Salisbury Center, officiating. There are no calling hours. Memorials in his name may be sent to the Herkimer County Hospice Program, 301 N. Washington St., Herkimer; or to the Stratford and Salisbury Ambulance Corps. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts-Buck Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville.
Kathleen T. Keller
ST. JOHNSVILLE Kathleen T. Keller, 78, of Midtown Estates, St. Johnsville, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at Little Falls Hospital.
She was born Nov. 7, 1921, in St. Johnsville, the daughter of the late Howard Keller and Teresa Haggerty-Hayes. Kathleen was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1939, and was a lifelong resident of the St. Johnsville area.
Kathleen was owner and operator of Kay's Second Hand Store in Fort Plain for 10 years, retiring in 1982. At one time she worked for Beech-Nut in Canajoharie for many years.
Miss Keller was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her cousins, Catherine May and husband Howard of Northville, Jeanette (Jean) Van Valkenburg of St. Johnsville, and George Haggerty and wife Marilyn of Fort Plain.
In keeping with Kathleen's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, April 10, 2000, at 10 a.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home with Sister Dolores Stevens of St. Patrick's Church officiating. Interment will follow in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. All memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

HERKIMER Mrs. Marie J. Graham, 84, of 104 North Washington St., Herkimer, (Folts Home), passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 5, 2000.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, on Friday, April 7, from 5-8 p.m. The ladies of the Michael S. Pliseck VFW Post 4915 Auxiliary of Herkimer are respectfully asked to gather at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. to pay their respects as a group.
On Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. the family will gather at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer. The Rev. Peter Nabozny, pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer, will offer prayers at the grave. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service.
Marie was preceded in death by her son, Richard Graham; her grandson, Robert Graham; her sister, Dorothy Bennett, and a brother, Robert Peliter.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and was well liked for her ability to make others around her happy. Marie is survived by her beloved family including her three daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Youker of Herkimer, JoAnne Maine along with her husband, Alan, of Richfield Springs, and Bonnie Perry of Herkimer; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Graham along with his wife, Joan of Virginia Beach, William Graham along with his wife, Darlie, of Little Rock, Ark., Donald Graham along with his wife, Judy, of Chesapeake, Va., and Thomas Graham along with his wife, Donna, of Mohawk; 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mary Peliter of Mohawk and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1915, in Ilion, Marie was the daughter of the late Pete and Dora (Moore) Peliter. She received her education in Ilion schools, and had been a lifelong resident of this area. On Feb. 16, 1933, Marie joined in marriage with Joseph K. Graham in Ilion. The couple had shared in a blessed union of over 61 years of marriage together. Mr. Graham passed away on May 12, 1994. Marie attended St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. She was a lifetime member of the Michael S. Pliseck VFW Post 4915 Auxiliary of Herkimer. She also was a proud Goldstar Mother an honor bestowed upon her by the VFW as a result of her son Richard's dedication and service to our country during the Vietnam War.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, Herkimer.
Kathryn R. Tiel
MOHAWK Kathryn R. Tiel, 85, of 24 E. Center St., Mohawk, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 4, 2000, at Faxton Hospital in Utica.
In respect to Kathryn's wishes, cremation has taken place under the guidance of the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer. There were no public calling hours. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside memorial service in her honor on Friday, April 7, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer. Prayers at the grave will be offered by the Rev. Robert Shinos pastor of the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph in Herkimer.
Kathryn was born on Dec. 8, 1914, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late George A. and Laura V. (Perrin) Ruff. She received her education in Herkimer schools, and had resided the greater part of her life in the Herkimer area. She attended the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph, and was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Baldwin, and a brother, George Ruff Jr.
She is survived by her son, Samuel R. LiBritz of Clay; two daughters, Lynn Jean Cave of Ilion, and Mary Anne Thuma and her husband David of Cooperstown; one sister, Betty Wildey of Herkimer; two grandchildren, Sarah Cave and William Cave, and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, Herkimer.
Joseph A. Lamanna
LILLIAN, Ala. Mr. Joseph A. Lamanna, 72, of 1401 W. Ridgewood Drive, Lillian, Ala., passed away on Monday, April 3, 2000, at the West Florida Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, Fla.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Friday evening, April 7, from 6-8 p.m. The family will also be present at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the beginning of prayer. Contributions in honor of Joseph may be considered to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes may be obtained from the Enea Funeral Home.
His funeral will commence with full military honors on Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. from the Enea Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred A. Lamanna, cousin of Joseph, officiating. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where interment will take place. Full military rites will be offered by the U.S. Army.
Joseph was born on Sept. 4, 1927, in Little Falls, the son of the late Joseph and Christina (Visconti) Lamanna. He had attended Little Falls schools. At one time he had worked with the H.P. Snyder Manufacturing Company, along with the Melrose Slipper Company, both formerly located in Little Falls. Joe lived for over 39 years in the Lima, Ohio, area, where he had been employed as a mail clerk with the U.S. Post Office.
On Oct. 1, 1951, Joe was joined in marriage with Cece Hyman in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout the 48 years of their union, each of them was the other's best friend. The commitment and devotion which they shared was an inspiration to all who knew them. It was only a week ago that the couple renewed their marital vows, something that was so very special to Cece. In 1994, the couple relocated to Alabama. Joe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served our country with the U.S. Army. He enlisted on Jan. 3, 1949, and was honorably discharged on Oct. 25, 1951. Upon relief from active duty, Joe held the rank of corporal. As a result of his courageous dedication to our country, Joe was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Francisco, and Angie Colangelo, along with his four brothers, Pat, Rocco, Anthony and Louis Lamanna.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Cece; his daughter, Cece VanEss and her husband, Peter of Milan, Illinois; one grandson, James VanEss along with his wife, Jan, stationed at Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Nancy Yacobucci of Palatine Bridge, and Mary Maneen of Ilion; a brother, Larry Lamanna and his wife, Mary of Little Falls, and a sister-in-law, Rose Lamanna of Little Falls, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe was always concerned for the well being of his wife, daughter, grandson and family. He dedicated himself unselfishly to tending to their needs. He was a pillar of support for them, and his strength and character were never more evident than during his recent illness. He will be dearly missed.
