Robert E. Henry
QUEENSBURY
Robert E. Henry, 75, of Queensbury, formerly of Fort Edward passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 22, 2008, after a short, hard fought battle with Stage 4 lung cancer.
Born February 25, 1933 in Fort Edward, NY he was the son of the late William Earl Henry and Eleanor Rita (Regner) Henry. Bob was a 1951 graduate of Fort Edward High School. He spent 13 years in the United States Air Force and while enlisted he served in Korea and Vietnam.
Rheta S. Foster
Saratoga Springs -- Rheta S. Foster, 95, of the Embury Apartments., Saratoga Springs, formerly of Rupert, Vt., passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at Saratoga Hospital. Services are pending.
Arrangements are by the McClellan Funeral Service, 19 East Broadway, Salem, N.Y.
Sister Theresa Scarselletta
Garrison -- Sister Theresa Scarselletta, a Franciscan Sister of the Atonement, died on Aug. 21, 2008. She was 72 years old.
Sister Theresa Scarselletta was born on Oct. 16, 1935 in Glens Falls, N.Y., to Mario and Isabel DeCarolis Scarselletta.
Sister Theresa came to the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement at Graymoor, Garrison, N.Y., in July 9, 1955. She professed her first vows on May 1, 1957, and her final vows on Sept. 1, 1962. As an Atonement missionary she served in various ministries of the community in: Cobleskill, N.Y.; Dannemora, N.Y.; Cadyville, N.Y.; Assisi, Italy; Quadrelli, Italy; Mechanicville, N.Y., Saco, Maine; Athens, N.Y.; Glens Falls, N.Y.; Mother Lurana Home, Garrison, N.Y.; Rossinver, Ireland; Rouses Point, N.Y.; Ogdensburg, N.Y.; Latham, N.Y.; Lake Placid, N.Y. and Motherhouse, Graymoor, Garrison, N.Y.
Guy Leslie Hartman M.D.
Salt Lake City, Utah - Guy Leslie Hartman M.D. died at his home in Salt Lake City on Aug. 20, 2008. He was born in Big Flats, N.Y. on Sept. 11, 1922 to Fred Charles Hartman and Ruth Agnes Andrews.
A man for all seasons, his enthusiasm and passion for many causes endowed him with a life full of varied interests and friends.
Learning how to read from his sister before he entered school put him ahead of all his peers and made him the youngest graduate in all of his school classes. He attended Elmira Free Academy and was an honors graduate from Hornell High School. He was a scholarship recipient and graduated from Alfred University. He received his medical degree in the Army Specialized Training Program at the University of Buffalo.
Rheta S. Foster
Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - Rheta S. Foster, 95, of the Embury Apartments in Saratoga Springs, passed away Thursday night, Aug. 21, 2008, at Saratoga Hospital. Mrs. Foster was born on April 5, 1913 in Rupert, Vt., the daughter of the late Will O. and Charlotte (Hatch) Sheldon. She was a graduate of west Pawlet High School in 1930 and also was a graduate of Castleton Normal School in 1932 and Castleton State College in 1934. Mrs. Foster was an elementary school teacher for 33 years before retiring.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley M. Foster, who passed away April 21, 1987.
She is survived by a nephew and two nieces and their families.
Genevieve M. O'Dell
Granville, N.Y. - Genevieve M. O'Dell died on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at The Orchard in North Granville.
Gen was born on Feb. 13, 1920, in Westville, N.Y., the daughter of John and Ella (Hughes) Fallon.
Gen was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Veronica No. 289, in which she held various offices. She was also a member of the Washington County Food Service Association, on which she had been president. Gen was a 4-H leader for a number of years and was also a member of the Golden Girls. Gen was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church where she also served for many years as a Eucharistic minister.
Rose Rowan
Corinth - Rose Rowan, 86, of Angel Road, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Saratoga Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on Sept. 11, 1921, in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Vram and Armenouhi Moroukian.
Mrs. Rowan graduated from Pumpton Lakes High School and attended business school in Pumpton Lakes, N.J.
Harry R. Parker
Warrensburg - Harry R. Parker, 69, of Schroon River Road, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at his home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 8, 1939, in Newcomb, he was the son of the late Clifton and Florence (Turner) Parker.
Harry graduated from Newcomb High School in 1957.
Imilda Louise Greene
Queensbury - Imilda (Louise) Greene, 87, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Friends may call Monday, Aug. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls, N.Y. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Imilda Louise Greene
QUEENSBURY - Imilda (Louise) Greene, 87, of Queensbury, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Sept. 10, 1920, in Rosston, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Matthias and Lena (Heinz) Cook.
Imilda (Louise) Cook married Elwood T. "Pete" Greene on April 30, 1943, in Bartlesville, Okla. Pete died on June 10, 2002.
Helen V. Smith
QUEENSBURY - Helen V. Smith, 88, of the Adirondack Manor, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on July 25, 1920, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Duane and Rose (Rustin) Waite.
On Sept. 3, 1939, she married Walter Smith at St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls. He passed away in 1991.
Francis A. Bedard
GLENS FALLS - Francis A. Bedard, 65, a resident of Glens Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at his home.
Calling hours are scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
Funeral services are scheduled on Wednesday, at a time to be announced.
Emma E. Beck
SCHROON LAKE - Emma E. Beck, 84, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Moses Ludington Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, N.Y.
Emma was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Ocila, Ga., the daughter of John and Emma Inman Dawson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Beck, June 25, 1984.
Frances Cristaldi Valerio
CAMBRIDGE - Frances Cristaldi Valerio, 88, died peacefully at her residence on West Main Street, in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Theodore A. Valerio who died in 1981.
Born in Manhattan on April 1, 1920, she was the daughter of Vincenzo and Serafina DeMarco Cristaldi.
The family moved to the farm on King Road in 1931 and Frances graduated from Cambridge Union School, Class of 1937.
Howard Cleveland
JACKSON, N.Y. - Howard Cleveland, 79, of Jackson, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, with his family at his side.
Mr. Cleveland was born in Troy, N.Y. on Dec. 24, 1928, the son of the late Ernest and Alice (Moore) Cleveland.
He graduated in 1946, from Salem Washington Academy.
Nicolina A. Eggleston
HUDSON FALLS - Nicolina A. Eggleston, 85, a resident of Hudson Falls, passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at the Orchard Nursing Home in Granville, N.Y.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1922, in Fort Edward, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Santo and Carmella (Isgro) Torre.
Nicolina worked for General Electric during World War II at both the Schenectady and Fort Edward plants. She also at one time was employed at Scott Paper for 16 years.
Edna Folts Esford
CORINTH - Edna Folts Esford, daughter of the late Louis P. Folts and Esther Clothier Folts, born Nov. 10, 1914, in Corinth, N.Y., died peacefully in her sleep, Thursday evening, Aug. 21, 2008, at the Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa, N.Y.
A graduate of Corinth High School, Edna married Harvey G. Esford on Nov. 23, 1950.
Edna worked many years at Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory in Corinth and later at the Adirondack Regional Hospital in Corinth, from which she retired in 1977.
Robert E. Ruggles
QUEENSBURY - Robert E. Ruggles, 87, of Wincrest Drive, Queensbury, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Pleasant Valley Infirmary, Argyle.
Born in Glens Falls in 1921, he was the son of the late Robert Warren and Claudia W. Ruggles.
He graduated from Lawrence Park Institute in Toronto, Canada.
Thomas Purcell
HADLEY - Thomas J. Purcell of Hadley, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa.
He was born in Schenectady and spent his early years in Rotterdam.
Thomas and his family had lived in Ballston Lake for many years before moving to Hadley.
Robert Byers
OLDSMAR, Fla. - Robert R. Byers, 98, of Oldsmar, Fla., formerly of Glens Falls, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at Meese-Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor, Fla.
Born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Aug. 12, 1910, he was the son of Gilbert and Ollie (Wible) Byers of Fort Edward, N.Y.
In his late teens, Bob worked for his uncle, Lester Wible. Bob owned and operated "The New Venus" restaurant and bar and managed "The Wonder Bar" (Maple Street in Glens Falls) for Frank Scully. He then worked for Colony Liquor and Wine Distributors, Menands, N.Y. for more than 30 years. He also sold real estate for James Scellen and often tended bar at private parties such as Sen. Nathan Proller's annual Christmas party.
Helen Smith
QUEENSBURY - Helen V. Smith, 88, of the Adirondack Manor, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on July 25, 1920, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Duane and Rose (Rustin) Waite.
On Sept. 3, 1939, she married Walter Smith at St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls. He passed away in 1991.
Robert Hall
CAMBRIDGE - Robert Charles Hall Sr., 79, died Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Orchard Nursing Home in Granville, N.Y. He resided on Cambridge Woods Lane in Cambridge with his wife, Wilhelmina E. (Tschumi) Hall.
Robert was born on May 21, 1929, in Valley Falls, N. Y., son of the late Wesley and Anna Mae (Hewitt) Hall.
He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School.

WHITEHALL - Audrey W. (Davis) McLaughlin, 80, of First Ave., passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.

Andrew Macura
GRANVILLE - Andrew Macura, age 82, of 33 Williams St., Granville, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Andy was born Dec. 6, 1925, in Granville, N.Y., the son of Adam and Suzi (Strich) Macura.
Andy served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in Okinawa and Hawaii.
Francis Bedard
GLENS FALLS - Francis A. Bedard, 65, a resident of Glens Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at his home.
He was born on May 23, 1943, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and was the son of the late Alexander J. and Clementine R. (Boulay) Bedard.
Mr. Bedard retired from the N.Y. State Department of Corrections in June 2003, where he was a correctional officer at Great Meadows Facility.
