Donald Blumberg Sr.
JEFFERSON — Donald F. Blumberg Sr., 81, of Jefferson, passed away on April 24, 2001, after a short stay at A.O. Fox Hospital.
Donald is survived by his wife, Shirley; and three sons and their wives, Donald Jr. and Ann of Lindenhurst, Charles Sr. and Leah of Jefferson and Kenneth Sr. and Maryjo of Las Vegas. Also surviving are 11 beloved grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral wake will be held in Lindenhurst, Long Island, at Johnston's Wellwood Chapels located on Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst. Friends may call at the funeral home today and Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C.C. in Lindenhurst, at 8:15 a.m. Interment will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead.

Olga M. Mowers
JEFFERSON — Olga M. Mowers, 90, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Jefferson, died April 23, 2001, in Kissimmee, Fla.
She was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Philadelphia, Pa.
Mrs. Mowers kept her own home in Jefferson until 1990, when she moved to Florida.
She was a member of Jefferson Eastern Star and Jefferson Methodist Church.
Three daughters, Olga Rabuck of Kissimmee, Fla., Beatrice Warner of Ocala, Fla., and Carol Stark of Akron, Pa.; a son, Donald Mowers of Gilboa; daughter-in-law, Shirley Mowers of Rotterdam; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren survive.
Her husband, Fred L. Mowers, predeceased her in 1964; and her son, Fred L. Mowers Jr., in 1992.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mowers will be on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 3 p.m. at the Jefferson Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Nash officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be on May 12, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the West Jefferson Cemetery.

Howard K. Rich
ROCHESTER — Howard K. Rich, 72, died at home in Rochester, after a prolonged illness.
He was born June 19, 1928, in Oneonta, the son of Walter and Isabelle (King) Rich.
A lifetime proponent of agriculture, Howard dedicated his life to the farming industry and animal husbandry. He was voted Farmer of the Year in 1959.
His wife, Annette of Rochester; three sons, Robert of York, Pa., Steven of Auburn and John of Hobart; a daughter, Janice; and seven grandchildren survive him.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 27, 2001, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Bert More officiating at the Hobart Presbyterian Church, Hobart.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart. Following the burial the family will be in attendance at the church.
Donations at the request of the family may be made to the American Lung Association.
Arrangements are with the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart.
Leland Priscott
DELHI — Services for Leland Henry Priscott of Dry Brook Road, Delhi, who passed away April 21, 2001, at Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown, will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bert More officiating. Calling hours will be on Friday, April 27, 2001, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.

ONEONTA — Graveside committal services for Dorothy Foutch, who died on Feb. 28, 2001, will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Emmons (Upper Section).

Edna M. Halter
ONEONTA — Graveside services for Edna M. Halter, who died Nov. 21, 2000, will be held on Friday, April 27, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.

Clyde E. Maine
SPRINGFIELD CENTER — Mr. Clyde E. Maine, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2001, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in New Hartford, the son of Edward and Laurel (Darling) Maine.
On March 30, 1946, he married Janice McCredy; she survives.
He moved from Clayville to Springfield Center, where he attended Springfield Central School.
He was in the United States Army Air Corps for 31/2 years, serving in Iceland during World War II.
He and his wife, Janice, owned and operated McCredy's Grocery Store during the 1950s.
Clyde serviced and installed oil burners for Jones Fuel and Oil Co., and Mohawk Valley Oil over a period of 25 years.
He retired from the Otsego County Highway Department in 1987.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Springfield Center, for many years.
Besides his wife, Janice Maine of Springfield Center; he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rae and Daniel Overstreet, and a granddaughter, Mary Van Horn, all of Shelby, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Helen Maine of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Erwin (Pete) and Lyle.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Rex Fullam officiating. Burial will be in the Springfield Center Cemetery, Springfield Center.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 27, 2001, at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
Contributions in Mr. Maine's memory may be made to the Springfield Fire Department or the First Baptist Church, Springfield Center.

Viola T. Craver
BAINBRIDGE — Viola T. Craver, 81, of Bainbridge, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at The Hospital, Sidney.
She was born July 27, 1919, daughter of the late Darwin and Lena Harrington Taft in Greenfield, Mass.
Viola married Robert P. Craver May 30, 1940, in Bainbridge.
Mrs. Craver was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bainbridge, as well as the Bainbridge Recreation Club.
She is survived by her husband, Robert P. Craver of Bainbridge; two sons, Robert J. and Patricia Ann Craver of Liverpool and Philip B. and Elise Craver of Bainbridge; two daughters, Christine Craver and John Haddad of Sidney and Cynthia C. and Michael B. Johnson of Bainbridge; two brothers, Darwin and Bea Taft of Bainbridge and Benjamin and Helen Taft of Afton; two sisters, Dorothy Nichols of San Diego, Calif., and Margaret and Donald Peterson of Sidney; seven grandchildren, Robert W. and Philip M. Craver, Cresta E., Danica H. and Damon T. Cajthaml and Danielle P. and Alexander J. Craver; and one great-grandchild, Jaden Cajthaml.
She is predeceased by a brother, James M. Taft.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2001, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bainbridge, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Bainbridge.

Clayton F. Finch
ANDES — Clayton F. (Gus) Finch, 66, of Dingle Hill, Andes, died April 25, 2001, in Rosendale.
He was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Arkville, the son of Lee Finch and Pearl Germond.
He was a corporal in the United States Army, March 5, 1952, to March 4, 1955.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
He lived most of his life in the Margaretville area.
He was a member of the VFW Post #6292, Stamford, American Legion Post #0950, Phoenicia, VFW Post #8787, Austin, Texas, and Disabled American Veterans.
Gus enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing horseshoes.
He is survived by his companion, Jane Soderback of Andes; two daughters, Barbara Aldrich of Stamford and Darlene Scherer of Bloomville; two sons, Clayton Finch of Bloomville and Frederick Finch of Oneonta; five grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Finch of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Edward Finch of Rosendale; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Floyd Finch; one sister, Delores Emerson; and two sons, Robert and Edwin.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001, at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, with the Rev. Richard L. Elders officiating. Burial will be in Old Margaretville Cemetery, Margaretville. Calling hours will be Friday, April 27, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.

UNADILLA — Mrs. Edna Finch Hornbeck, formerly of Covered Bridge Road, Unadilla, passed away on March 19, 2001.
Burial will be held on Monday, April 30, 2001, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge, at 11 a.m.

Carole Maddalone
SIDNEY — Carole A. Maddalone, 63, of Sidney, passed away Friday, April 27, 2001, at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton.
She was born Jan. 21, 1938, daughter of the late Patsy and Matilda Martin Delello in Oneonta. Carole married Joseph A. Maddalone on April 8, 1956, in Oneonta.
Mrs. Maddalone was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sidney; a charter member of Borden Hose Co. Auxiliary, Mount Upton; and member and past president of the Sidney Fire Department Auxiliary, the Phelps Hose Co. Auxiliary and the Charles L. Jacobi Post #183 American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Delaware County American Legion Auxiliary, the Central Fireman's Association Auxiliary and Women of the Moose #502 of Sidney.
Mrs. Maddalone is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Maddalone of Sidney. She was the loving mother of two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Tamara Maddalone of Sidney and James and Karen Maddalone of Bainbridge. She was the loving grandmother of Daniel, Matthew and Andrew Maddalone. She also leaves four sisters, Frances and Maurice Walley of Chenango Bridge, Esther Vandermark of Oneonta, Eleanor and Leonard Beers of Norwich and Martha Delello of Oneonta; four brothers, Martin and Edith Delello of Oneonta, Bernard and Rose Delello of Syracuse, Patrick Delello of Laurens and Fred and Nancy Delello of Oneonta; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Bernice Mulkins, Cecilia and Phyllis Delello.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, April 30, 2001, at Sacred Heart Church, Sidney, at 10:30 a.m.
Friends may call Sunday. The family will be in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m. at C.H. Landers Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney.
An American Legion service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.

Mary Ella Roberts
ROSEBOOM — Ms. Mary Ella Roberts, 79, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2001, at her home in Roseboom.
She had received loving care and assistance from Rose Yearry and her family for several months.
She was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Middlefield, the daughter of Lee and Frances (Bostwick) Roberts.
She was a lifelong area resident. Mary was a graduate of Cherry Valley Central School. She worked at the Schenevus Glove Shop, Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, GE in Schenectady, Fuller Brush Sales and Grand Union Deliveries. She then did wallpapering and painting for several years before she worked for Opportunities for Otsego until her retirement. She was an avid gardener, wrote poetry and loved to do crafts.
Survivors include her children, Gary and his wife, Janet, of Hadley, Nancy Roberts and her husband, Bill, of Sharon Springs, Barry Roberts Jeschke of Elmira, Nancy Kofakis of Casper, Wyo., and Terry and his wife, Rose, of Roseboom. She was a loving "Grammy" to 21 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Pearl Pollette of Middlefield and Beulah Waid of Sharon Springs; a brother, Lee Roberts of Tucson, Ariz.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Campbell and Edna Alice Roberts; two brothers, Kenneth Roberts and Wayne Roberts; and a son, Henry Ralph McAdams.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2001, at the Ottman Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Messner of St. Johns Zion Lutheran Church of Sharon Springs, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Middlefield Cemetery.
After the service, everyone is invited to the Middlefield Fire Hall for fellowship.
Calling hours will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the Middlefield Fire Department, Star Route, Roseboom, N.Y. 13450.

Robert W. Utter
ONEONTA — Robert W. Utter, 81, of Oneonta, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 20, 1920, son of William and Izma (Bullis) Utter, and married Eleanor Weyher on May 10, 1947.
Mr. Utter was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II, where he served in the Pacific Theater of Operations.
An engineer with the Delaware & Hudson Railroad for 30 years retiring in 1985, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and a former member of the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, of 54 years; his son, Steven Utter of Oneonta; his daughter, Susan Decker, and her husband, Duane, of Maryland; two brothers, Clayton and Joyce Utter of Oneonta and Wayne and Eleanor Utter of Valrico, Fla.; and four sisters Kathleen Maggio of Valerico, Fla., Barbara Dorimus of Brandon, Fla., Betty and Earl Beardslee of Goshen, Ala., and Carl and Roger Ackley of Oneonta. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alicia Kilts and her husband, Walter, and Kimberly and Mathew Decker. He has one great-grandchild, Joshua Kilts. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was predeceased by two brothers, Clifford, who died while serving in the Korean War, and Walter Utter.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Plains Cemetery in Oneonta with the Rev. Norman Moran.
There will be no calling hours.
