Brenda Deer
GUILDERLAND Brenda Julienne Bourgeois Deer, of Guilderland, who was born Jan. 25, 1960, was struck and killed by a drunk driver while running on Sunday, July 30, 2000.
She was an avid runner and was running with her beloved husband, John, when she was hit.
Brenda is survived by her husband, John, and her children, Johny, Benjamin and Bethany, all living at home. Brenda is also survived by her parents, Gerard and Doris Bourgeois of Morris, and in-laws, John and Barbara Deer of Middle Village, N.Y.
She is also survived by her sister, Diana Birdsall and her husband, David; and three brothers, Gerard Bourgeois Jr. and his wife Connie, Brian Bourgeois and his wife, Marjorie, and Oliver Bourgeois, all of Morris.
Brenda is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Francis Deer and his wife, Evelyn, of Milford, Mass., Jeffrey Deer of Middle Village and Timothy Deer and his wife, Joyce, of East Stroudsburg, Penn., beloved aunts and uncles, Carol Deer of New York, N.Y., Lucille and Maynard Conroe, Elaine and Dennis Bourgeois, James and Harriet Nissen, and grandmother Martha Herrmann of Middle Village. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Matthew and Meredith Birdsall, Bradley and Phillip Bourgeois, Gerard Bourgeois III, Frazer Bourgeois, Amy, Brian and Theresa Deer, Angelica White and Kayla Deer. She is also survived by many close cousins.
Brenda graduated from Morris Central School, Morris, in 1978 and attended Hartwick College, Oneonta.
She married John Deer on Dec. 19, 1981. They have lived in the Capital district for 15 years.
Brenda was an active member of Christ's Church in Guilderland and St. Thomas the Apostle in Delmar. Brenda was a very strong Christian and held Bible Study groups in her home.
She was also a Girl Scout leader and a soccer coach over the years.
Brenda worked at the Guilderland Elementary School as a teaching assistant. She also tutored students in her home.
She was loved by her family, friends, co-workers, and students. who will all miss her so much.
The funeral services for Brenda will be held at Christ's Church, 6 Charles Park in Guilderland, Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at 10 am.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike (Route 20) in Guilderland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brenda Deer Memorial Fund at any Key Bank branch.
Jennette H. Marble
MOUNT VISION Mrs. Jennette H. Marble, 80, of Mount Vision, died early Saturday morning, July 29, 2000, at her home.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1919, in the Harrison Homestead at Blood Mills, a daughter of Lyman and Edna (Lane) Harrison. She married Sherman D. Marble on Sept. 3, 1941, at the Harrison Homestead. He died Feb. 17, 1998.
Jennette was raised in Mount Vision and was salutatorian of the Laurens High School Class of 1938. She then went on to graduate from secretarial school and was employed for a brief time by an attorney's office and a feed store in Oneonta. She and her husband purchased the dairy farm in Mount Vision in 1942, where they would spend the rest of their lives.
Throughout her married years, Jennette devoted her life to taking care of her family and was active in the operation of the dairy farm. She sold eggs, helped out during the haying season and greatly enjoyed vegetable gardening.
She was a lifelong and vital member of the Mount Vision United Methodist Church where throughout the years she taught Sunday school and served on various committees. She took an equally active role in the former Otego Valley Grange.
Jennette is survived by two sons, Dean S. Marble and Kim VanDeusen of Mount Vision and Dale R. Marble and his wife, Jeanne, of Redford, Mich.; five grandchildren, Brad Marble, Caitlin Marble, Amber Marble and Karlyn VanDeusen, all of Mount Vision, and Brianna Marble of Redford, Mich.; her twin brother, Dwight Harrison of Mount Vision; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Vivian Harrison of Mount Vision; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and three special caregivers, Molly, Stan and Laurie Paddleford, all of Mount Vision.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at the Mount Vision United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger G. Yoder, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mount Vision Cemetery.

Donald L. Clouse
WARWICK Donald L. Clouse, 70, of Warwick, died Tuesday, July 31, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern.
The son of the late William and Ida (Dixon) Clouse, he was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Hamburg, N.J.
He served for 19 years as a sergeant for the Hamberg Police Department. He was also an extruder operator for Remee Wire in Florida, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Edith (House) Clouse; his sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Karen Clouse of Unadilla and Timothy and Jackie Clouse of Blairstown, N.J.; his daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and William Hill of New Port Richey, Fla., and Sandra and Rick Peabody of Port Richey, Fla.; his stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and George Ball of Warwick and Marie and Charles Hughes of Franklin; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Myers of Bainbridge; four brothers, Herman R. Clouse of Sussex, N.J., Lloyd Clouse of Clinton, Iowa, Linn Clouse of Branchville, N.J., and Alan Clouse of Raleigh, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, David Clouse.
The funeral service will be held at the Lazear-Smith &VanderPlaat Memorial Home at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood.
Beulah M. Beams
ONEONTA Mrs. Beulah M. Beams, 81, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Oneonta, the daughter of Leland and Maude (Kenny) Coe.
She married Gordon H. Beams on Oct. 5, 1940, in Oneonta. He died Feb. 12, 1999.
Beulah graduated from Otego High School. She worked at Woolworth's and at Bendix Corp. during the war, and worked for 20 years at the S&H Green Stamp Store in Oneonta.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Beulah is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by an infant son, Donald Bruce Beams.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta, 357 Main St., Oneonta. The Rev. William Moorby will officiate.
Burial will be in Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta.
The family will be present on Tuesday evening, Aug. 1, 2000, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
It has been has been requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to either Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St., Oneonta, N.Y., 13820 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York Chapter, Leatherstocking Branch, P.O. Clarence Gilchrist
COOPERSTOWN A committal service for Clarence W. Gilchrist, who died on Jan. 3, 2000, will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the Richfield Springs Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeffrey Hale, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Cooperstown, officiating.

Gary M. Greco
ONEONTA Dr. Gary M. Greco, DVM, 47, of Oneonta, died on Monday, July 31, 2000, as the result of a heart attack, while en route to Palm Island, Fla., to vacation with his family.
He was born Aug. 12, 1952, in Brooklyn the son of Nunzio and Mary (Testa) Greco. He married Jane Slaymaker on Sept. 6, 1975, in Brooklyn.
As a kid, he always loved animals and would charge friends a nickel to come and see his pet circus, which included different animals, varying from gerbils, birds, and monkeys.
Doc graduated from Brooklyn Tech, Brooklyn College, and the University of Palma, Italy, where he studied veterinary medicine, and fulfilled his life long dream.
In 1984, he and his family moved to Oneonta, and in 1986 he opened Southside Animal Hospital.
He was a member of the American Veterinary Association, the Adirondack Mountain Club, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Caribbean Conservation Society and the Mote Marine Conservation Club.
Doc had a great love for life. He lived for the moment and especially enjoyed fishing, writing, music, bowling, gardening, cooking, spiritual ZEN and most of all his family.
He found sanctuary in Italia (wine, food and friends), the Adirondacks (mountains, hiking, camping and fresh air) and Palm Island, Fla., where he enjoyed sunsets, the ocean, beach combing, dolphins, wildlife, fishing with his son and walks with his wife on the beach.
Doc is survived by his wife, Jane Slaymaker Greco of Oneonta; his children, Jonathan Greco of Miami, Fla., Jennifer "Lou" Greco of Wilmington, NC., and Janine "Nin" Greco of Oneonta; surrogate sons, Joshy Brown and Quame "Q-Man" Patterson of Oneonta; his mother, Mary Greco of Brooklyn; and a brother, Phillip Greco of Stratford, N.J.
He is also survived by three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Greco residence on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, Aug. 3, from noon to 2 p.m.
The funeral service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Critter Compassion Fund, c/o Southside Animal Hospital, 114 Southside Dr., Oneonta, N.Y., 13820.

Ruth W. Predmore
OLD FORGE Ruth W. Predmore, 88, of Old Forge, formerly of Oneonta and Red Bank, N.J., died July 30, 2000, at the Allen-Calder Residential Health Care Facility, Utica.
She was born July 26, 1912, in Morristown, N.J., the daughter of Ada and Fred Wilman. Ruth was married to George W. Predmore in 1936. He died in February 1996.
Before her retirement she was secretary at River Street School, Red Bank, N.J.
She was active in the Senior Citizens Bowling League in Oneonta and was its secretary for many years.
She was a volunteer at the Old Forge Arts Center and the Old Forge Library children's reading program,
Ruth is survived by her sister, Doris Bott, of Kennebunkport, Maine; one daughter, Nancy (Raymond) Schoeberlein, of Old Forge; four grandchildren, Michael Schoeberlein of Old Forge, Karen Guernsey of Cortland, Richard Schoeberlein of Brockport and Kristin (Bruce) Condie of Big Moose; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be no funeral or calling hours in honor of Ruth's wishes.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Melissa Jordan
SIDNEY CENTER Melissa Sue "Missy" Jordan 16, of Sidney Center, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 31, 2000.
She was born March 19, 1984, to David and Elnora Vermilyea Jordan in Sidney.
Missy was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sidney Center where she was active in the youth group.
Missy was to be attending Sidney High School in the fall as a junior.
She was loved so dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Missy is survived by her parents, David and Elnora Jordan of Sidney Center; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lisa Jordan of Sidney Center and Danette and Al Smith of Menlo, Ga.; her maternal grandfather, Charles Vermilyea of Sidney Center; her paternal grandparents, Charles and Caroline Jordan of Unadilla; several close aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends.
Missy was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Vermilyea.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at 1 p.m. at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St., Sidney, with the Rev. Donna Joy Schmid, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Sidney Center, officiating.
Friends may call Thursday, Aug. 3, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Sidney Center.
Memorial contributions may be made in Missy's name to the United Methodist Church of Sidney Center as well as the Sidney Center Emergency Squad.

Angelina Morrow
RICHFIELD SPRINGS Angelina M. Morrow, 86, of Lake Street, died on Monday morning, July 31, 2000, at Bassett Healthcare Cooperstown.
She was born on April 2, 1914, in Richfield Springs, daughter of the late Angelo and Rose Famulare Agresti. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident she was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School and the Utica School of Commerce.
She married James A. Morrow on Oct. 6, 1951, in Richfield Springs. It was a blessed union of 15 years until his passing on May 16, 1967. She was the secretary-office manager for Suburban Propane, Richfield Springs, for 40 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church Richfield Springs, where she was a lecturer and a member of the Richfield Springs Senior Citizens, serving four terms as president of the group.
Surviving are an aunt, Dorothy Famulare of Fly Creek; several cousins; many cherished friends, Ken and Shirley Dries, Ruth RedJives, Sue Pierson and Sister Patricia; and her devoted friends and neighbors, David and Pauline Lynch along with their son, Christopher Lynch, who was Angelina's pride and joy.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Agresti, on July 7, 1998.
Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. in St., Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, with the Rev. Robert Shinos officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Charles T. Smith
SIDNEY Charles T. Smith, 65, of 1 Orchard St., Sidney, passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 1, 2000, at The Hospital, Sidney.
He was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Kelsey, N.Y., son of the late Charles T. and Flossie Tuttle.
He married Kathryn Clum in Bainbridge, on Sept. 3, 1988.
Charles owned and operated a tire and radiator business in Bainbridge for several years.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Charles L. Jacobi Post 183 American Legion, Sidney.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn L. Smith of Sidney; four daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Stoutenberg of Norwich, Terri and Jeffrey Cornell of Bainbridge, Carol and Kevin Montgomery of Peachtree City, Ga., and Patricia and Richard Sebeck of Chenango Forks; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Jace Hurlburt of Guilford, stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Howe of Norwich; three sisters, Jenny Price of Hurleyville, Eva DeVoe of Loch Sheldrake and Dora Sands of Guilford; a brother, Carl Smith of North Sanford; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles was predeceased by four sisters, Gladys Smith, Emma Smith, Juanita Judd and Margaret Mudge; and six brothers, Fred, Floyd, Wallace, Howard, Ted and Byron Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, from the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, with the Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg, pastor of the Circle Drive Alliance Church, Sidney, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
Friends are invited to call after 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at the funeral chapel. His family will be in attendance from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
