Wilson H. Pratt
WEST VALLEY — Wilson Holly Pratt, 81, formerly of West Valley and Buffalo, passed away on Feb. 24, 2000, at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville.
He had been a resident of the Cattaraugus County Nursing Home in Machias for many years.
Mr. Pratt was born in Buffalo on Oct. 6. 1918, son of Avery Judson Pratt and Dora Margaret (Sanders) Pratt.
Mr. Pratt was married to Mary Ellen McNeil in Buffalo, on Dec. 29, 1943, and until her death in 1993.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Harvey Slatin of Stamford, Holly and Robert Keller of Lockport and Mary Ellen Pratt of Alexandria, Va.; and grandsons, Thomas W. P. Slatin, James R. and Jonathan McN. Keller.
Mr. Pratt was a graduate of Bennett High School, in Buffalo. He attended Cornell University and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He received a degree in civil engineering in 1940, from the University of Buffalo. After graduation, Mr. Pratt was employed by the American Bridge Co. and Bethlehem Steel. He worked as an engineer on the construction of the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls.
During World War II, he served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves. Subsequently, he worked for R.S. McManus Steel Construction Co., in Buffalo, a firm he eventually owned. He spent most of his professional career in structural steel fabrication
Mr. Pratt was a former member of The Saturn Club, the University Club, the Cornell Club of Buffalo, and the Sons of the American Revolution.
He will be remembered for his kindness toward others, his marvelous sense of humor and his great love of English and American literature. He was especially proud of his daughters and his grandsons.
At Mr. Pratt's request funeral arrangements will be private. There will be no calling hours.

Robert Belsky
MORRIS — Mr. Robert (Bucko) Belsky, 65, passed away Feb. 23, 2000, at his home with his beloved wife and pets by his side, after a courageous fight against cancer for over two years.
He was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Union Township, Hunterdon County, N.J., the son of Helen Barcelowsky and his stepfather, Stanley Barcelowsky.
On Feb. 17, 1976, he married Diane Davis in Elkton, Md., she survives.
Mr. Belsky served on the USS Kennedy in the Korean War from 1952-1955. He worked with RJ Anderson Roofing and Siding of Morris.
He was a member and Past Commander of VFW Post 1417, Morris. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his wife, Diane Belsky of Morris, he is survived by a son, Matthew Belsky of Pennsylvania; daughters, Donna and her husband, Al Bomysoad, of Vestal and Gina Snyder of Rochelle Park, N.J.; grandsons, Jim, Steve and Charlie; granddaughter, Tara; sisters-in-law, Lorry Stoner and Sharon Anderson of Morris; brothers-in-law, RJ Anderson of Morris, William Davis of South New Berlin and Ricky Davis of Milford; father-in-law, Stanley Davis of Fort Edward; a special longtime friend, Pete Spezio of Oneonta; and his favorite nieces and nephews, Brenda and David, Deanna, Brian and April, and Gabriel, Erika and Dillion.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at 1 p.m. at the Morris VFW Post 1417, Morris.
Cremation will be accomplished at the Leatherstocking Crematory Inc., Cherry Valley.
Contributions in Mr. Belsky's memory may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice, Oneonta.

Ann Albrecht
ONEONTA — Mrs. Ann Albrecht, 81, of Otego, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at The Meadows in Cooperstown.
She was born Aug. 21, 1918, in Vintondale, Pa., the daughter of Nicholas and Mary (Mamchak) Pander.
She married James Albrecht on June 24, 1939, in Yonkers. He died Feb. 11, 1960.
Ann was an assistant housekeeper at the Hilton Inn, Tarrytown, retiring in 1979. Following her retirement, Ann moved to Otego from Dobbs Ferry and lived in Melody Village Mobile Home Park. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Linda Albrecht of Redding, Conn., and James Albrecht of Oneonta; a daughter, Carol Ann Klein and James Ricca, her companion and family member, of Otego; two sisters, Helen Holst of Billings, Mont., and Pauline Raffaelle of Yonkers; one stepsister, Susan Sencen of Yonkers; two stepbrothers, Michael Wasicsko of Hialeah, Fla., and John Wasicsko of New Paltz; two grandchildren and their spouses, Howard and his wife, Cindy Bucci, of Otego and Lori Ann and her husband, James Biagioni, of Otego; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine and Theresa Pander; two stepsisters, Marie Jacobs and Katherine Haslinger; and two stepbrothers, George and Nicholas Wasicsko.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta, with Father Robert Longobucco, pastor, officiating.
Ann will be cremated and her cremains will be buried in the Otego Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be given to the West Oneonta Emergency Squad in memory of Ann Albrecht.

Barbara Carlson
SAND HILL — Barbara Helene Weir Carlson, 87, of Sand Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born March 12, 1912, in North Tarrytown. She was raised in Lee, Mass.
She graduated from Russell Sage College in 1933.
She married Clarence Carlson on Oct. 12, 1935. They resided in East Orange, N.J., Indianapolis, Ind., and Nutley, N.J. before moving to Sand Hill in 1971. She was an active member of Sand Hill United Methodist Church for the past 29 years.
Besides her beloved husband, Clarence, of 64 years, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Suzanne and Robert Keim of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Robert and Nancy Carlson of West Chester, Pa.; five grandchildren, Robert Keim of Sunnyvale, Calif., Jennifer and Craig Schilpp of West Chester, Pa., David and Kristine Keim of Needham, Mass., Russell and Rebecca Carlson of Thomasville, N.C., and Lisa and Eric Johnson of Horsham, Pa.; six great-grandchildren, Katie Keim, David Schilpp, Alyssa Carlson, Sarah Schilpp, Andrew Keim, Riley Carlson; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Carlson Lundgren of Avon Park, Fla.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at 3 p.m. at the Sand Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joseph Fiske officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sand Hill United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Tony Cillis
HOBART — Tony Cillis, 76, of Hobart, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Robinson Terrace, Stamford.
He was born in Hobart, March 1, 1923, the son of Michael and Mary (Donata) Cillis.
A lifelong Hobart resident he was a member of the Church of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus in South Kortright and of the Hobart Fire Department.
Tony is survived by two nieces, Janet Cillis Mitchell of Tillson and Jean Cillis Poague of Manassas, Va.; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Victor Cillis and James Cillis.
The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus in South Kortright, with Fr. Joseph Cebula officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford. Friends are invited to call at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2000.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Hobart Fire Department.

Grace H. Putnam
ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Grace H. Putnam, 82. of Zephyrhills, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at Dade City Hospice House of Pasco.
A native of Worcester, N.Y., she moved to this area in 1977.
She is survived by a stepson, Ivan W. of Voorheesville, N.Y.; a brother, Paul Hunt of Worcester, N.Y.; a niece and a nephew.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, at a later date.
Herbert H. Kuhne
BURLINGTON FLATS — Mr. Herbert Heinz Kuhne, 64, of Burlington Flats, formerly of Verona, N.J., passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, with his loving family at his side.
Heinz was born on Sept. 22, 1935, in Newark, N.J., the son of Katharina and Rudolf Kuhne and was raised in Verona, N.J. After attending Fairleigh Dickinson University, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he became a cold weather-survival instructor.
On June 22, 1957, he married Franzi R. Zeller in Upper Montclair, N.J.
His life's occupation was creativity, whether in the 30 years he spent in the construction and restoration field with his father-in-law's company, John Zeller Inc., in Montclair, N.J.; in the many volunteer years spent with the Boy Scouts of America (25 years); with the Lions International of Verona, N.J., (15 years); or with Habitat for Humanity of Otsego County (four years). He embraced life with good-natured zeal and his many talents leave behind a benchmark for class.
Heinz is survived by his wife, Franzi; their children, Chris J. Kuhne of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Glen A. Kuhne of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Kathi V. Kuhne of Upper Montclair, N.J.; an aunt in Austria; and four cousins in Germany.
A private cremation service will take place at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley. Cremation will be taken care of by the Leatherstocking Crematory Inc., Cherry Valley.
Memorial celebrations will be held in New York and New Jersey in the coming spring; the dates will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in the form of contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts of America, American Cancer Society, Lions International or Edmeston Rescue Squad.

George O. Tyler
WESTFORD — George O. Tyler, 85, of Westford, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at The Meadows in Middlefield, where he had been a resident.
He was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Westford, the son of Lyman and Edna B. (Partker) Tyler.
Mr. Tyler attended the Westford School and worked on the family dairy farm. He was a member of the Westford Methodist Church, where he was the custodian for many years. He also maintained the Westford Cemetery for many years. He enjoyed taxidermy and photography.
He is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Christine Stah-Mann of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Nadine (Stah) White of Oxon, England; one great-nephew; and a cousin, Madaline Eckstein of Florida and Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Stah, and a cousin, Harold Tyler.
Calling hours will be held from 6 p.m. until the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester with the Rev. Richard H. Burke, pastor at the Westford and Schenevus Methodist Churches, officiating.
Burial will be at the Westford Cemetery later in the spring.
Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Tyler to the United Methodist Church, Main Street, Worcester, N.Y. 13488.
Funeral arrangements are by E.J. Skinner Co., 115 Main St., Worcester.
James L. Kreischer
FARMINGDALE — James Lawrence Kreischer, 43, of Oneonta and Levittown, died Feb. 18, 2000, in an automobile accident in Farmingdale, Long Island.
He was married to Jane Kreischer on Nov. 19, 1977.
He was a 1974 graduate of Island Trees High School, Levittown, Long Island, and a 25-year employee of United Parcel Service in Queens.
Besides his wife, Jane, he is survived by his beloved children, Vanessa and Peter of Oneonta.
Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Marianne and George Newsham of Massapequa, Long Island; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Diane of Central Islip, Long Island; a brother, Joseph, of Freeport, Long Island; a brother, William, of Levittown, Long Island; a sister-in-law, Susan Weiner, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and his mother-in-law, Ida Mary Czerkawski of Oneonta.
He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and his special pets, Emma and Alex.
James was predeceased by his mother, Helen, and father, Stephen.
James will be truly missed by all who knew him. His love of music and infectious laugh will live in everyone's heart.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements were made by O'Shea Funeral Home, Wantaugh, Long Island.
Cremation was private.
Anna F. Koopmann
TREADWELL — Anna F. Koopmann, 90, a 53-year Treadwell resident died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Countryside Care Center Delhi.
She was born Dec. 1, 1909, in Hanover, Germany, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Weighardt) Mandel.
Anna came to the U.S. in 1929, and married Wilhelm Koopmann on April 11, that year, in Brooklyn, where the couple lived until 1947. The Koopmanns subsequently moved to Treadwell, where they owned and operated a dairy farm on Roaring Brook until retirement in 1971. Mr. Koopmann died July 9, 1999.
Anna was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Delhi, and Ladies Aid Society as well as the Treadwell Community Club.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick and Johanna Koopmann of Treadwell and William and Annette Koopmann of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren, Susan Prokop, Ralph, Mark, Helana and Vince Koopmann; a sister, Herta Rover; as well as several nieces and nephews in Germany.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, by her pastor, the Rev. John E. Priest. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be later in the Croton Union Cemetery, Treadwell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Catskill Area Hospice, Delhi.

Marcel Montalbano
CHERRY VALLEY — Mr. Marcel J. Montalbano, 85, passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at the Folts Home, Herkimer.
He was born Feb. 25, 1915, in Palarmo, Italy, the son of Paul and Virginia (Vincenza) Montalbano.
He is survived by his wife, the former Elinor Abate, who survives; a son, Marcel and daughter-in-law, Pat of New Milford, N.J.; and a daughter, Ms. Elaine Novick of Cherry Valley; and grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., today at St. Thomas Church, Cherry Valley, with the Rev. Santino Titta officiating.
Cremation was accomplished at the Leatherstocking Crematory Inc., Cherry Valley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley; 264-8141.
David H. Blazer
LAKE PLACID — David Henry Blazer, 78, of 14 Liberty Hill, Lake Placid, passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at the Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Phillipsburgh, N.J., on Oct. 10, 1921, the son of Charles and Ruth (Bigelow) Blazer.
Mr. Blazer graduated from Stamford Central School in 1940, and served in the United States Air Force 345 Bomb Group in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945.
He was a member of Rotary International and the Lake Placid American Legion Post 326. He was also an elder in St. Eustace Episcopal Church. He had been town supervisor in the town of Kortright, Delaware County, for 10 years; had been employed at the National Bank of Hobart for 27 years, the state Department of Agriculture and Markets commissioner's staff for 13 years and also the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Blazer is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Tyler Blazer of Lake Placid; a sister, Mary Blazer Dorn of Oneonta; two sons, Andrew Charles Blazer of Riverside, Calif. and Ted Tyler Blazer and his wife, Catherine Kayser Blazer of Lake Placid. There are also three grandchildren, Andrew of Montana and Christian and Mary-Lauren of Lake Placid. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and 15 nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid today from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be an American Legion Prayer Service at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 at the Saint Eustace Episcopal Church, Lake Placid, with the Rev. Peter Francis officiating. Burial will follow in the North Elba Cemetery.
