FRANCIS JOSEPH LABARGE
Francis Joseph LaBarge, 93, of Pleasant Avenue, Tupper Lake, died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Mercy Healthcare Center.
Born June 12, 1910 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Gerry and Josephine Vivia LaBarge.
On July 13, 1944, he and the former Ruth Evelyn Mason of Tupper Lake were married at St. Joseph's Chapel at the HGA Convent by MSGR. Breault.
He is survived by two daughters: Paula Hunt and Mary Jane LaBarge of Tupper Lake and a son: Gerald LaBarge of San Francisco, CA, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. LaBarge was predeceased by his wife Ruth of 49 years in 1993. Also, two brothers: Edward and Leo and his caregiver and friend, Frank Currier.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, July 6th at the Richer, Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Funeral Mass was held Monday, July 7th, at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church with Father Thomas Kornmaye of St. Bernard's Church officiating. Burial followed at the Parish Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.
MORRIS LOUIS WEISSBROT
Morris Louis Weissbrot, 80, of Tupper Lake and Lady Lake, Florida, died Saturday, July 5, 2003 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Born on November 9, 1922 in Masebeth, NY, he was the son of Julius and Esther (Edelman) Weissbrot.
On July 3, 1943, he married the former Helen Derouchie of California. She predeceased him in April 1983. On June 2, 1984, he married the former Gail Branch Gagnier of Tupper Lake. In December 1988 they retired to the Villages in Lady Lake, Florida and maintain a summer residence on Little Wolf Lake.
He is survived by his wife Gail, two sons: Eric and his wife Arlene of Great Neck, Laurence and his wife Kathy of Glastonbury, CT, one daughter: Binnie and her husband Frank Aquilino of Flushing, one sister: Bella Drucker of Mineola, four grandchildren: Evan and Jared Weissbrot, Michael Aquilino, Jill Jacobsen. He is also survived by a very special daughter: Patty Tyson Todd and his special granddaughters: Adrienne, Chantalle, Jessica, Kerri Ann and Kelsey. He was predeceased by his first wife Helen, one brother Joseph and one sister Charlotte.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 10, from 7pm to 9pm at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11am at the Beth Joseph Synagogue with the Rabbi Kenneth White. Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Morris's memory are asked to consider the Beth Joseph Synagogue or the Tupper Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad.
ODILON "EDDY" CERAT
Odilon "Eddy" Cerat, 83, of Main Street, Tupper Lake, died Saturday, July 5, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
He was born April 26, 1920 in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Lucien J. and Yvonne Bailey Cerat.
On May 21, 1951, he and the former Theresa Savard of Tupper Lake were married in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Mr. Cerat is survived by his wife of 52 years, a son: Glenn Cerat and his wife from Scotland, Louise of Jamestown, NY, three grandchildren: William McKay, serving in Tokyo, Japan, Grace Amber and Ian Scott of Jamestown, one brother: Albert and his wife Dolice Cerat of Montreal, two sisters: Louise Deaurel and Claire Lachapelle and one sister-in-law: Mireille Cerat, all of Montreal, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a stepson: Carlton Savard, a brother: Yvon, a sister: Carmen and an infant sister.
A Memorial Mass will be announced for later this summer to be held at Holy Name Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad in care of the Richer Funeral Home, 29 Park Street, Tupper Lake, NY 12986.
LUKE L. PATNODE
Luke L. Patnode, 75, died Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Saranac Lake, he was the son of Bartholomew and Winifred Perkins Patnode.
He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen Hand Patnode and an infant son, Luke Junior. He is survived by his five children: Bart Patnode and his wife Alethea, James Patnode and Kathleen (Kitty) Patnode, all of Lake Placid, Dan Patnode and his wife Fiona of Nashville, Tennessee, and David and his wife Suzanne of Fort Covington, NY. He is also survived by his wife Therese Kendrick Patnode of Lake Placid, five stepchildren: Mary Pat Baker, Suzanne Dixon, Mona Dixon, Amy Beaney and John K. Dixon, all of Lake Placid, three brothers: Bartholomew and his wife Ellie of Lake Placid, Edward of Lake Placid and Thomas and his wife Doris of Jay, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters: Alice P. Beeckel, Kathleen P. Kempa, Frances P. Dickens and one brother James Patnode.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. The American Legion will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Wednesday at 8pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am at the St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid with Reverend Michael Gaffney officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in St. Agnes Cemetery.
Donations in Luke's memory may be made to Lake Placid Public Library or the charity of one's choice.
CHARLES DELANCETT
Word has been received of the death of Charles DeLancett, age 59, of 227 McKenzie Pond Road, Saranac Lake, who died Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at his home.
Calling hours are tentatively set to take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 from 7pm to 9pm only. A complete obituary will be available on Monday.
CHARLES DELANCETT
Charles DeLancett, age 59, of 227 McKenzie Pond Road, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at his home.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on February 11, 1944, he was the son of John and June (Vincent) DeLancett.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Melanie DeLancett, of Bloomingdale, NY, one daughter and son-in-law: Heather and Steve Desmonie of Valatie, NY, four grandchildren: Raine DeLancett of Bloomingdale, NY, Athena DeLancett of Saranac Lake, NY, Alexander Desmonie of Valatie, NY and Dominic Desmonie of Valatie, NY. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
The family will receive friends at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 7-9pm.

LUIS F. ARAUJO
Luis F. Araujo, age 62, of 10-12 Edgewood Road, Saranac Lake, died Friday, July 11, 2003 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Bronx, New York on June 14, 1941, he was the son of Luiz and Rosa (Arteaga) Araujo.
He is survived by three brothers: John Araujo, Jack Araujo, Manuel Araujo, all of New York City, and one sister: Deolinda Araujo, also of New York City. He was preceded in death by his father Luiz Araujo and his mother Rosa Arteaga.
Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 10am to 11am. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11am on Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

CALVIN C. WILSON
Calvin C. Wilson, 85, of Hurley Avenue, Lake Placid, NY passed away Sunday, July 13, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. He was born on June 4, 1918 in Standish, NY, the son of Arthur Z. and Myrtle (Winch) Wilson.
Cal is survived by his wife Betty (Hennessey) Wilson. They were married June 4, 1949 at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake.
Along with his wife, Cal is survived by one son: Lynn Wilson and his wife Karen of Lake Placid, a daughter: Marilyn Mussari and her husband Louis of Lockport, NY, a brother: Lynn Wilson and his wife Min of Lake Placid, four grandchildren: Krista and Amana Wilson of Lake Placid and Matthew and Samantha Mussari of Lockport. He is also survived by a niece: Lorraine VonDell and a nephew: Larry Straight, both of Lake Placid. There are several other nieces, nephews and cousins surviving.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Tuesday, July 15, from 6pm to 9pm. There will be a Masonic Prayer Service on Tuesday at 8pm at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11am at St. Eustace Church in Lake Placid. Reverend Judson Pealer, Rector, will officiate. Cremation will follow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

ARLINE N. SPENCER
Arline N. Spencer, age 86, of 112 Lake Street, Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on October 28, 1916, she was the daughter of David and Nina (Berry) Clary.
She is survived by her children: Lester Spencer of Viro Beach, FL, Marjorie Simpson of Saranac Lake, NY, Joyce Peryer of Lake Clear, 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Loren Spencer, her sister Elizabeth Lynch, her sister Florence Braben, her sister Evelyn Wood, her brother Bernard Clary, her brother Gerald Clary, her brother Wolfred Clary, her brother William Clary, her brother Richard Clary and her brother Floyd Clary.
Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Linda McIntyre officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Malone.

MARY JANE MADDEN
Mary Jane Madden, age 84, of 35 Helen Street, Saranac Lake, died Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Alliance, Ohio on November 6, 1918, she was the daughter of Floyd and Myra (Jones) Senn.
Mrs. Madden married Richard J. Madden on April 5, 1948. He died December 12, 1997. She is survived by her son Michael of Saranac Lake, two sisters: Gretchen Wamsganz of Burlington, VT and Margaret Swope of North Canton, Ohio and six nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Saranac Lake.

ROSEMARY LAWRENCE
Rosemary Lawrence, 70, of 30 Greenwood Street, Lake Placid, passed away Friday, July 18, 2003 at Winggate of Dutchess Nursing Home in Fishkill, NY.
She was born in Lake Placid on August 27, 1932, the daughter of Herman and Beatrice (Williams) Green. Mrs. Lawrence was the widow of Buck Lawrence.
She is survived by one son: Edmund Lawrence of Lake Placid and three daughters: Stacey Sears and her husband Trapper of Lake Placid, Leslie Desrocher and her companion Todd Barney of Lake Placid and Brenda Lawrence of Long View, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Kyle, Alexis, and Jasmine Sears, Angela Denton, Crystal Romero and Mark McPhearson. Rosemary is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Rachael.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 21, at 11am at the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Lake Placid. Pastor Douglas Cox will officiate. Burial will follow in the North Elba Cemetery.
RUTH E. STRAIGHT
Ruth E. Straight, 77, formally of Tupper Lake and Lake Placid, passed away at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown, NY on Thursday, July 17, 2003.
She was born in Saranac Lake on June 15, 1926, the daughter of Melvin Russell and Elizabeth (Sibley) Griffin. Her husband Gordon J. Straight died in Tupper Lake on November 30, 1979.
Ruth is survived by one daughter: Karen Ann Berry and her husband Charlon of Watertown, NY, one son: Jay Gordon Straight and his wife Holly of Glen Allen, VA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home on Monday, July 21, from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 2pm. Reverend Alan Macnab will officiate. Burial will be in North Elba Cemetery.
PAULINE MINNIE HALL DOYLE
Pauline Minnie Hall Doyle, 95, of South Hill Road, Long Lake, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 19.
She was born a granddaughter of pioneer Long Lake residents in Long Lake on June 22, 1908, the daughter of the late Asa Benjamin and Ella Sherman Hall.
On September 29, 1934, she and J. Douglas Doyle of Tuckahoe, NY, were married in Port Henry, New York. Mr. Doyle, the former golf pro at the Sagamore Links at Long Lake, died in 1977.
She is survived by her brother: Richard Sherman and his wife Edith Whitney Hall of Tulsa, OK, two nieces: Debra Hall and her husband Allan LaPlante of Marion, KY, Kathy Hall and her husband Michael Nelson of Houston, TX, and one nephew: Whitney Sherman and his wife Kelly Hall of Tulsa, OK. Also surviving are four great nieces, two great nephews, many cousins, including Pat and Guy LeBlanc, many dear friends, including the family and Walter and Christine Snide and Edith and Ray Smith.
Friends may call at St. Henry's Parish Center in Long Lake from 5pm to 9pm on Tuesday, July 22. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, July 23, at St. Henry's Church with Father Peter Borg officiating. Committal services will follow in Long Lake Cemetery.

CHARLES D. "BUCK" GALLO
Charles D. "Buck" Gallo, age 82, of Riverside Drive, Lake Placid, passed away on July 20, 2003, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, New York.
He was born on August 23, 1920 in Lake Placid, the son of Belle (Johnson) and Charles Gallo.
He married Salina C. Muncil on September 27, 1941 in Saranac Lake. They made their home on Riverside Drive for over fifty-five years.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Elizabeth Gallo of Lake Placid and Robert and Linda Gallo of Lake Placid, one daughter and son-in-law: Lorraine and Jerry Tyler of Youngsville, North Carolina. Also five grandchildren: Robert Gallo of Tuckerton, NJ, David Gallo of Bloomingdale, Thomas Gallo of Lake Placid and Tara and Chad Tyler of Youngsville, NC, and three great-grandchildren: Justin and Mason Gallo of Tuckerton, NJ and Malikai Briggs of Youngsville, NC, one sister: Johanna Brewster and her husband John of Rainbow Lake, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Salina, who died on January 21, 1997, his parents, his sister Genevieve and four brothers: Philip, Daniel, Paul and Carl Gallo.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Wednesday, July 23, at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. An American Legion Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am at the funeral home on Thursday, July 24. Burial will follow at the North Elba Cemetery.
FRANCIS M. MIHILL
A Memorial Mass for Francis M. Mihill will be offered at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid on Friday, August 1st, at 10am. Miss Mihill passed away in Kilmarnock, Virginia on January 20, 2003.
After the Memorial Service, burial will follow in the family plot in St. Agnes Cemetery. Reverend Michael Gaffney, Pastor, will officiate. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
STELLA RIEBEL
Stella Riebel, age 97, of Ray Brook, NY, died Friday, July 25, 2003 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Ukraine on October 25, 1905, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Semeniak) Zustavna.
She married George Riebel on May 21, 1923. He predeceased her on February 14, 199. She is survived by three sons: David Riebel of Schuylerville, NY, George Riebel, Jr. of Ballston Lake, NY and Gary Riebel of Clifton, NY, two daughters: Virginia Queior of Ray Brook, NY, and Rosalind Dietz of Ray Brook, NY, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held Tuesday at 8pm. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10am at the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake with Reverend Linda McIntyre, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
