Theresia Klee
ONEONTA — Mrs. Theresia Klee, 81, of Oneonta died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.
She was born Oct. 5, 1916, in Germany.
Theresia married Alwin Klee on June 9, 1951, in Germany. He died Oct. 3, 1980.
Theresia came to the United States from Germany in 1951, after her marriage. She was a homemaker in her own home. She had trained as a nurse in Germany and was a licensed masseuse. In the early 1960s she owned and operated the Southside Motel on Southside, Oneonta. Later she owned and operated motels in Tucson, Ariz., and Plattsburh.
Theresia was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting as a pastime.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Renate and Donald English of Edmeston, and Rosemarie Feliciano of Medford, Long Island; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gottfried Klee of Ottawa, Canada, and Gerhard and Jean Klee of Walton. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Traute Palmer, in April 1995.
Funeral prayers will be offered at 9:15 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, from the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
Friends may call at the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta after 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18, 1998. The family will be present at the funeral home Friday evening, Sept. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Theresia Klee.

George Beadle
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — George "Art" Beadle, 82, Pioneer Trail, a retired employee of Kraft Foods Co., South Edmeston, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in New Smyrna Beach.
He was born in East Branch, and moved to New Smyrna Beach 17 years ago from Edmeston.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Edmeston.
Survivors include six sons, George of Columbus, Ohio, Ronnie of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Manny of Ilion, Randy of East Springfield, Kerry of Hamilton, and Audie, stationed with the Armed Services in Spain; seven daughters, Diana Merrick of West Winfield, Sandra Ruscoe of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Darlene Harris of Liberty, Sharon Schrag of New Berlin, Toni Joyce of Otego, Lola Lyons of Fly Creek, and Cindy Vibbard of Edmeston; one sister, Elsie McKenney of Summitville; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Lena; a son, Douglas; and a granddaughter, Amy.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at the First Baptist Church of Burlington Flats with the Rev. Jay Henderson officiating.
The family will receive friends an hour before service time at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
Muriel A. Weidman
EDMESTON — Muriel A. Weidman, 80, of Edmeston died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at M.I. Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
She was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Guilford, the daughter of Conrad and Ada (Martin) Camp.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Betty Linda Holm, James Frances and Brenda Wiedman, Barbara Izard, John M. Weidman Sr., Bernice J. and John Christian, and Bonnie and Larry Sullivan; 29 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Pamela J. Weidman; and her brother, Carl Camp, and his wife, Wilda.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Francis E. Weidman, her longtime companion, Nelson McClean, and her daughter, Beverly J. Figger.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston, with the Rev. Doug Burleigh officiating.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Muriel's name to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston.
Cheryl Lynn Snyder
WORCESTER — Cheryl Lynn Snyder, 18, of Worcester died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born June 19, 1980, in Cobleskill, the daughter of Christopher and Jo-Ann (Manchester) Snyder.
Cheryl attended the Cobleskill School District until 1995, when she and her family moved to Worcester. She was a 1998, graduate of Worcester Central School. She had dreams of becoming an English teacher.
Cheryl had a great love of life. She was always smiling and had a wonderful gift with people. She will be forever loved and missed by many.
She is survived by her parents, Christopher and Jo-Ann Snyder of Worcester; two sisters, Phyllis Marie Snyder of Seward, and Denise Nichole Snyder of Worcester; her maternal grandmother, Gisela Manchester of Worcester; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at the Second Baptist Church, Main Street, Worcester, with the Rev. Judith A. Thistle, pastor, officiating.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel, 115 Main St., Worcester.
At Cheryl's request, she will be cremated.
Contributions may be made in loving memory to the Cheryl Lynn Snyder Memorial Trust Fund, care of Worcester Central School, 182 Main St., Worcester, N.Y. 12197.

Henry H. Metcalfe
COOPERSTOWN — Mr. Henry H. Metcalfe, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at the Robynwood Adult Home in Oneonta.
Mr. Metcalfe was born in Chicago, Ill., on Oct. 15, 1914, the son of Charles and Mary (Humphrey) Metcalfe.
After graduating from high school in Chicago, he graduated from the Insurance Underwriters School in Chicago.
Henry was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II.
He was an insurance underwriter for Chubb and Son in their Detroit, Mich., office.
Mr. Metcalfe married Virginia Drescher on July 15, 1937, in Crown Point, Ind.
Before moving to Cooperstown, Henry had resided in Birmingham, Mich. as well as Largo, Fla.
Mr. Metcalfe was a past member of St. James Episcopal Church in Birmingham, Mich., as well as Christ Episcopal Church in Cooperstown.
Henry enjoyed swimming, tennis and in later years needlepoint. He was an avid follower of Cooperstown High School baseball, basketball and soccer teams.
Mr. Metcalfe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Peter Wright of Cooperstown and Nancy and Charles Neville of Troy, Mich.; two grandsons, Mark and Eric Neville of Troy, Mich.; three granddaughters, Gillian, Marley and Flannery Wright all of Cooperstown.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church of Cooperstown with the Very Rev. Douglas C. Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers for those who wish may make donations in Henry's name to the Cooperstown Sports Booster Club at P.O. Box 141, Cooperstown, N.Y. 13326.

Nancy C. Roberts
OCALA, Fla. — Nancy C. Roberts, 67, of 8596 South West 108th Place Rd., Ocala, Fla., and formerly of Holland Patent, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at the Monroe Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1931, in Gloversville, the daughter of Gregory and Ivy (Harris) Conover, and was married to Richard "Dick" Roberts on Aug. 15, 1953, in Gloversville.
Mrs. Roberts graduated from Oneonta State Teachers College, class of 1952. She was a first grade teacher for over 30 years, having taught in the Holland Patent School System from 1964 until her retirement in 1987.
She is survived by her husband at home in Ocala, Fla.; two sons, Rick Roberts of Gansevoort, and Brian Roberts of Lenexa, Kan.; four grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Lindsay, and Aaron Roberts; one sister, Clair Burns of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Mrs. William (Joyce) Atchinson of Oneonta; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Wille.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at the Lewis-Hurley Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta with the Rev. Marie King, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Alice May Cobb
ONEONTA — Alice May Cobb, 88, of Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in Oneonta.
She was born on May 16, 1910, in the town of Pittsfield, the daughter of Charles R. and Effie Oliver Cobb.
She spent her childhood in the town of Pittsfield.
She attended the Matthews District School and Christian Bible School.
She worked for Parker Dental Supply of Binghamton.
She was a member of the First Congregational Ketchum Methodist Church which is now in a museum in Hamilton.
The A.O. Fox Memorial Nursing Homes unit No. 1 has been Miss Cobb's home since 1976. During her younger years she did volunteer work at the nursing home while she was a patient there.
Alice is survived by her brothers and sisters, Charles Russell Cobb of New Berlin, Frank Raymond Cobb of Morris, Emma Webb of New Berlin, Charlena "Lena" M. Cobb of Oneonta and Beatrice Winifred Card of New Berlin; three nieces, two nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at 10 a.m., at the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin, with the Rev. Charles Taylor of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, New Berlin, officiating.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin. There will be no calling hours.

John W. Eberling
MARYLAND — John W. Eberling, 69, of Maryland died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at his own residence.
He was born April 10, 1929, in Clarkstown, the son of Joseph and Florabelle (Lent) Eberling.
He was a United States Army veteran serving from 1951 to 1953.
In 1969, he moved to Maryland from New City.
He was employed at Joseph Swantack Inc., Delhi Stage, as a salesman.
Mr. Eberling was a member of Schenevus Valley Masonic Lodge No. 592.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. and her husband, Shannon L. Kaiser, of Maryland, and Sherry A. Eberling of Hashemi of Angiers, N.C.; four grandchildren, Leila and Sahra Hashemi of Angiers, N.C., and John J. and James S. Eberling of Maryland.
He was predeceased by one son, Mitchell J. Eberling, who died September of 1977.
At Mr. Eberlings request he will be cremated and there will be no calling hours.

Helen L. Chadwick
RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Helen L. Chadwick, 84, of West Lake Road, died on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, in Folts Home Inc., Herkimer.
She was born on April 18, 1914, in Merchantville, N.J., a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Caroline Mick Loughrey.
Raised and educated in Merchantville she graduated class of 1932, from Merchantville High School. She played basketball in high school and in 1932 the team won the New Jersey Championship.
On Oct. 7, 1937, she married Kelley Chadwick in Merchantville, N.J. Helen and her family moved to the area in 1945. She became active in many civic activities. For more than 40 years she volunteered at M.I. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. She had been a member of the Richfield Springs PTA and had served as president; she had been a Girl Scout Leader in Mohawk and Richfield Springs, and had served on the Otsego County Girl Scout Council; she participated in local theater groups, and had been a member of the Cedarville Country Club and the Otsego Golf Club.
Surviving besides her devoted husband of 61 years, Kelley, are one son, Thomas Chadwick and his wife, Mary, of Richfield Springs; three daughters, Leigh Eckmair and her husband, Frank, of Gilbertsville, Susan Robinson of Grand Island, and Patricia Doersch and her husband, Donald, of Maple Valley, Wash.; one brother, John Loughrey of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seveal nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph, and four brothers.
Funeral service and interment will be private. There are no calling hours.
