Betty R. Mansker
LANCASTER, Pa. — Betty R. Mansker, 72, of 101 Dovefield Drive, Lancaster, Pa. died Sunday morning at home following a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of the Rev. Richard J. Mansker, who was a minister at the Delhi Community Church and the Harpursville Baptist Church. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past December.
Born in Derry, Pa. she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes Wilson Ramsey.
She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Lancaster, Pa.
She was a 1944 graduate of the Derry Borough High School, a graduate of the Robert Morris School of Business in Pittsburgh, a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute and a graduate of the New Tribes Mission Institute.
She assisted her husband, who was a pastor in various churches.
Surviving besides her husband is a son, Paul R., husband of Sandra Delameter Mansker of Moncks Corner, S.C.; a daughter, Pamela M., wife of Dennis Burd of Duncanville, Ala.; a granddaughter, Charity A. Burd of Duncanville, Ala.; a grandson, Phillip E. Mansker of Moncks Corner, S.C. and a brother, Earl W. Ramsey of Greensburg, Pa.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Grace Baptist Church, 1899 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, Pa. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at noon with the Rev. Harry Ross officiating.
Interment will be in Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster, Pa.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Margaret D. Marcellus
UNADILLA — Margaret D. Marcellus, 77, of Unadilla died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at the home of her daughter in Richmondiville.
She was born, Dec. 30, 1920, in the town of Plainfield. The daughter of Owen and Amy (Marriott) Davies.
She was married to Leland D. Marcellus, Oct. 3, 1943, in West Edmeston. Mr. Marcellus died April 1, 1994.
Margaret was a graduate of Leonardsville High School and the Utica School of Commerce.
She has been a resident of Unadilla most of her life and was a retired district clerk of the Unatego Central School System. At one time she served both the village and the town of Unadilla as a deputy clerk, and served for many years on the Unadilla Board of Elections.
One of her favorite pastimes was camping and fishing. She also was a member of the Unadilla Fireman's Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Alan L. Marcellus of Unadilla and Sharon Mirabito of Sidney and their children, Lisette, Jennifer and Sean Marcellus; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Gary Sega of Richmondville and their children, Jeffrey and Matthew Sega; her mother, Amy Davies of Unadilla; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Jean Davies of Sidney, also two nephews and several cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at the Westcott Funeral Home, 112 Main St., Unadilla with the Rev. Victor R. Zaccaro of Richmondville and the Rev. Eleanor Dearstyne, pastor of the Richmondville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.
Friends may call at the Westcott Funeral Home, Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, from 1 to 3 p.m., when the family will be in attendance.

James Ritchko
ONEONTA — James Ritchko, 71, of Oneonta died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998 at A.O. Fox Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 1, 1927 in Oneonta, the son of Mary and Peter Ritchko.
In 1944, he was married to Beverly Richards in Oneonta. She died in 1968.
Mr. Ritchko was a graduate of Oneonta High School, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attended Colgate University.
He was a lifelong area resident and along with other family members, owned and operated Ritchko's Market on West Broadway in Oneonta.
He is survived by two brothers, Paul of Oneonta and Arthur and his wife Sue Ann Ritchko of Glenmont; and a sister, Katherine Ritchko of the Meadows. He is also survived by his children, Terry Ritchko of North Carolina, Craig Ritchko and his wife Debbie of Otego, Joan Cooper and her husband John of Pittsburgh, Bruce Ritchko and his wife Joanne of Oneonta and MaryLou Bevins and her husband Frank of Oneonta; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, Chris Ann and Brian Ritchko, all of Colorado, Karen and Kelly Cooper of Pittsburgh, James and Tatiana Ritchko of Oneonta, Kyle and Katrina Ritchko of Otego, Kevin Ritchko of Oneonta and Chad Ritchko of Oneonta; three great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brother, Harry (Peter) and Fred Ritchko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998 at St. James Episcopal Church in Oneonta with the Rev. Canon Mark Cole officiating. Burial will be in Plains Cemetery, Oneonta.
Friends may call at the Lewis-Hurley Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, after 2 p.m. today. The family will be in attendance from 7-9 p.m.
Doris M. Sieme
CHERRY VALLEY — Mrs. Doris M. Sieme, 78, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at M.I. Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
She was born Sept. 10, 1920, in Brackenridge, Pa. the daughter of William and Emma (Younghans) Etzrodt.
She married Norman A. Sieme on Jan. 22, 1952 in Dunkirk.
Mrs. Sieme was a member of the Christ Church in Cooperstown.
Mrs. Sieme is survived by her husband, Norman A. Sieme of Cherry Valley; three sons, James Sieme of Altamont, Kevin Sieme of Albany and Warren Sieme of Delmar; one daughter, Laura Giordano of Cambridge; one brother, Kenneth Etzrodth and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Christ Church, Cooperstown with the Right Rev. Daniel Herzog, bishop of Albany, officiating the funeral Mass and the Very Rev. Doug Smith officiating the sermon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Sieme's memory may be made to the Christ Church, Cooperstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
Mollie Streeter
RICHFIELD SPRINGS — Mollie Streeter, 86, formerly of 92 Lake St., and a resident of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home died on Saturday morning, Sept. 12, 1998, in Little Falls Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1912, in Richfield Springs, a daughter of the late Harvey and Louise Angermire Kitts.
A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, she was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School.
On Oct. 12, 1939, she married Milton Streeter in Saint Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, a loving and devoted union of 37 years until his passing on June 30, 1977.
She was a member of Saint Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs and the American Legion Post No. 616 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara and her husband Thomas Shypski; two granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Wahl and Catherine L. and her husband, Edward T. Bello Jr.; five great-granchildren, Brittany Wahl, Chelsea and Tyler Kamp, Eddie and Kaitlin Bello; her brother, Edward Kitts, all of Richfield Springs and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Milton, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Jack; her brother, Robert Kitts; and an infant sister, Louise Kitts.
Funeral services from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 5 West James St., Richfield Springs on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs with the Rev. Joseph Benintende officiating. Intement will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Gary S. Wetmore
DAVENPORT CENTER — Mr. Gary S. Wetmore, 42, of Davenport Center died suddenly Thursday evening, Sept. 10, 1998, at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City following complications after a liver transplant.
He was born Jan. 3, 1956, in Oneonta, the son of George and Beverly (Jester) Wetmore.
Gary was a lifelong area resident and was a legal assistant for Harlem & Harlem, Attorneys at Law, in Oneonta.
A 1974 graduate of Oneonta High School, Gary had attended West Virginia University and San Diego University in San Diego, Calif. and was a graduate of the State University College at Oneonta.
He lived in San Diego for seven years after attending San Diego University where he served as a legal assistant before returning to this area. At one time he was employed by Oneonta attorney James Konstanty.
Gary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oneonta, The National Legal Assistants Association, National Aircraft and Pilots Association and the Pacific Coast Astronomical Association.
He had an interest in Civil War history and was active in a Civil War Association that meets in Cooperstown. He was also interested in anything pertaining to Thomas Jefferson.
Gary enjoyed coin collecting and was an avid hunter. He also was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf, flying and following football, baseball and basketball.
He is survived by his parents, George and Beverly Wetmore of Davenport Center; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Stephen Collins of San Diego, Calif., and Judy and Edward Welch III of Otego; aunts and uncles, Harry and Margaret Wetmore, Donald and Marie Wetmore, all of Oneonta; William and Dorothy Wetmore of Hobart, Edith Jester, Wayne and Charlotte Jester of Oneonta, Donald and Dee Jester of Windsor, Richard and Joan Jester of West Webster, Rodney and Evelyn Jester of White Sulpher Springs, Bruce and Nancy Jester and William and Nancy Rasmussen all of Oneonta and Betsy Squires of Irondequoit. He is also survived by a very special nephew, Michael Collins of San Diego, Calif.
A service to celebrate the life of Gary S. Wetmore will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, from the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta with the Rev. William D. Bouton, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Oneonta, officiating.
Gary will be cremated at the Hillington Crematory in Morris and his cremains interred in the Wetmore Family Plot at Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta following the celebration of his life.
There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.

Carol Bechtold
GIG HARBOR, Wash. — Carol Bechtold died in Gig Harbor, Wash., on Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998.
She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Trucksville, Pa., the second of seven children of Forrest and Oda Siegel.
She lived in Pennsylvania and Ohio as a child, but spent most of her adult life in Oneonta.
Upon the death of her first husband, Charles Bechtold, in 1976, she moved to be near her daughters and, in 1979, married her husband's widowed brother, William "Bud" Bechtold, and settled in Gig Harbor, Wash.
Carol enjoyed keeping in touch with her family back East and visited them often.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Lynne and Bill Shepherd of Vashon Island, Wash. and Susan and Blain Eliot of Allyn, Wash.; stepchildren, Jill and Bill Becker of Puyallup, Wash., and Michael and Anita Bechtold of Chicago; grandchildren, Meggen and Matt Chadsey, David Shepherd, Graham Becker, and Chris and Barbara Bechtold. She is also survived by a brother, Forrest Siegel Jr., two sisters, Janet Crossett and Ruth Lutz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Highway 16 West, Gig Harbor, Wash., from 7 to 8 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 18, 1998. Remembrances in Carol's name may be made to the Gluten Intolerance Group, P.O. Box 23053, Seattle, Wash., 98102-0353.
Stuart P. Potter
MOUNT UPTON — Stuart P. Potter, 88, of Mount Upton died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at his home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1909, in Franklin, the son of Fred and Eleanor (Pomeroy) Potter.
He married Iva Pardee on Oct. 21, 1933, in DeLancey.
Mr. Potter was a graduate of the Franklin Central School, the Delaware Literary Institute, and Albany Business College.
For a period of 22 years, Mr. Potter worked for ECD Bendix in Sidney, where he retired as a foreman in 1972. Prior to that, he worked for 13 years on the D&H Railroad as a stenographer and clerk. He was also employed briefly by the Continental Fire Insurance Company, the Oneonta Maytag Company, the New York State Bank, Beechnut Packing Company, Murdock's Hardware and Elmore Milling Company.
Mr. Potter was a member of the Mount Upton United Methodist Church, and at one time was affiliated with the following organizations: The E.C. Fraternity of Franklin, the Masonic Lodge of Oneonta and Hobart, Loyal Order of the Moose in Sidney, and the volunteer fire departments of Cheshire, Mass., Bloomville and Mount Upton.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Iva Potter of Mount Upton; his three sons and their spouses, George and Judy Potter of Norwich, Stuart and Kathy Potter of Endicott, and Gary and Sharon Potter of Beaumont, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Potter Buell, and her daughter, Audrey, of Willow Grove, Pa. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a grandson, James Potter, and two brothers, James and Dwight Potter of Franklin.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at 1 p.m. in the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Evelyn P. Lintern, pastor of the Mount Upton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from noon until service time.
