Mr. Thomas R. “Brownie” Brownell, 46 years old, of West Street, Johnstown, died Thursday morning at his home. Mr. Brownell was born April 2, 1961, in Hudson, NY, a son of Albert and Shirley Watson Brownell, Sr. Brownie moved to Montgomery County as a child where he resided until moving to the Johnstown area 20 years ago. He was employed as a carpenter in the Fulton Montgomery area for many years. Brownie was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed NASCAR and enjoyed watching the NY Giants.
He is survived by his mother Shirley J. Fish of Mayfield and his father Albert (Cheryl) Brownell, Sr. of Ft. Plain; his daughter Gina Wharton of Northville, his companion Dorothy Marlitt and her children Dustin, Samantha and Alyssa all of Johnstown. Also surviving are eight brothers: Albert (Tina) Brownell, Jr., James Brownell and his companion Cheryl, John (Pauline) Brownell, Timothy (Lorie) Brownell, Charles Brownell and his companion June, Michael (Jody) Douglas, Daniel Brownell and his companion Stacy and Bert (Carla) Brownell; six sisters: Cheryl (Thomas) Clemons, Judy (George) Baker, Robin Snell and her companion John, Sandra Smith and her companion Michael, Pamela Brownell and Julie Putman and her companion Eric. Brownie also leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation will take place at Vale Crematorium in Schenectady. There will be no calling period or funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made: Jade Ribbon Campaign, C/O Asian Liver Center, 300 Pasteur Drive, Room H3680, Stanford, CA 94305-5655.

Howard A. Moyer
Born in Johnstown, New York on Dec. 24, 1925
At Rest Nov. 3, 2007 and resided in Gloversville, NY.

Howard A. Moyer, 81, passed away Saturday November 3, 2007 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville after a short illness.
He was born December 24, 1925 in Johnstown, NY the son of Alfred and Julia Anne (Warren) Moyer. Mr. Moyer was a lifelong resident of Johnstown and graduated from Johnstown High School.
On July 20, 1944 Mr. Moyer entered the US Army. He honorably served his country until he was discharged June 25, 1946.
He was employed at the former Tryon Boy School where he retired on June 22, 1989.
He married Shirley Mae Sweet on July 22, 1950. They shared 51 years together and were blessed with five children.
Mr. Moyer enjoyed farming, cooking, gardening and wildlife.
Survivors include one son, Leland A. and his wife Merry L. Moyer of Johnstown; three daughters, Linda S. and her husband Paul D. Joseph of Johnstown, Joann L. and her husband Pete R. Morehouse of Johnstown and Susan M. and her husband Jeffrey M. Jennings of Broadalbin; one sister, Marion Downer of Gloversville; nine grandchildren, Cynthia A. Moyer, Jennifer L. Moyer, Matthew S. Moyer, Erica L. Joseph, Keaton R. Morehouse, Kassi L. Morehouse, Carlee S. Morehouse, Lance C. Jennings and Aubrey K. Jennings; one great-grandchild, Camie L. Hart.
He was predeceased by his wife in 2002, his son, Wayne A. Moyer in 1986, his sisters, Katherine Coonly, Dorothy Smith, Madolyn Colson and Olive Pyne.
Calling hours will be Monday November 5, 2007 from 4 to 8 PM at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM from the Walrath and Stewart Funeral home with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Ferndale Cemetery in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.

Patricia Ambrosino
Born in Walensburg, New York on Apr. 13, 1930

Mrs. Patricia Ambrosino, 77 of Gloversville, died October 29, 2007. She was born April 13, 1930 in Walensburg, N.Y., daughter of the late Robert W. and Beatrice Palmer Farrow. Mrs. Ambrosino was educated in Westport N.Y. schools and employed as a supervisor at Knox Gelatine most of her life.

Patricia enjoyed walking and baseball games. She also loved to crochet and crafting.A family oriented person, she was proud of her cooking and sharing times with family.

She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Rogers of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Ann Boyd of Pavilon, N.Y. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Farrow of Clifton Park, four grandchildren , seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Mrs. Ambrosino was pre-deceased by a brother William Farrow and sisters; Emma Goot and Teresa Holst.

There will be no services.

John C. Mangiagli
Born in Johnstown, New York on Jun. 18, 1921

Mr. John C. Mangiagli, Sr; age 86, of Gloversville, died Monday, October 29, 2007 at Nathan Littauer Hospital following a long illness.

He was born June 18, 1921 in Johnstown, the son of the late Filippo and Grace Miranda Mangiagli. Following his graduation from Barker Central High School in 1942, he served in the US Navy during World War II for four years until 1946. When he returned home he worked at the former Garlock’s Garage in Gloversville. John retired in 1984 after many years as a machinist at Fultonville Machine and Tool Company, Fultonville.

Mr. Mangiagli was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Association, and Concordia Club along with its Rifle Club. He had bowled in leagues in the past, and was also a little league baseball manager many years ago.

John was married to Mary Pezzella on July 19, 1947 who survives. Survivors also include a son, John C. Mangiagli, Jr. (Terry) of Painted Post, NY; a sister, Mary Caraco of Las Vegas, NV; two grandsons, Kyle Mangiagli and Patrick Mangiagli; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Mangiagli.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be held at 9:15 am Friday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, 149 S. Main St; Gloversville, NY 12078.

Harold W. Whitehouse
Born in Johnstown, NY on Jun. 10, 1918

Mr. Harold W. Whitehouse, age 89 of Gloversville, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the home of his daughter.

He was born June 10, 1918 in Johnstown, the son of the late Earl and Cassie Allen Whitehouse. He served in the Army from March to November of 1943 as a marksman and truck driver, and later worked at several local leather tanneries until his retirement in August of 1983.

Mr. Whitehouse was a member of Bleecker Street Church of Christ, Gloversville, and was a former member of the Mayfield Service Men's Club. He loved to visit with the friends he made at Kingsboro Towers in Gloversville.

Harold was married on April 27, 1940 to Jean E. Yost. Mrs. Whitehouse died April 26, 2002. Survivors include four children, Don H. Whitehouse (Karen) of Hickory, NC; Bill G. Whitehouse (Dorothy) of Greenwich, Steven E. Whitehouse of Johnstown and Tami J. Miller (Aaron) of Mayfield; a brother, Gerald O. Whitehouse (Beatrice) and a sister, Audrey E. Hisert (Don); ten grandchildren, Don B; Kelly and Amy of North Carolina, Melanie and Eric of Greenwich, Bridget, Valerie and Grant of Fonda, and Cassie and Olivia of Mayfield; 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma L. Condon.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St; Broadalbin, where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm Friday with the Rev. Sandra Geer officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Memorial contributions may be made toMountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave; Gloversville, or the Bleecker Street Church of Christ, 97 Bleecker St; Gloversville, NY 12078.

Mary Pezzella Mangiagli
Born in Gloversville, NY on Sep. 11, 1923
At Rest Apr. 30, 2008 and resided in Gloversville, NY.

Mary P. (Pezzella) Mangiagli, age 84, of Gloversville, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, Florida.

She was born September 11, 1923 in Gloversville, NY, the daughter of the late Augustine and Pasqualina (Mellone) Pezzella. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School.

Mary worked at General Electric in Schenectady during WWII. She was employed as a bookkeeper by Fultonville Machine and Tool for many years. She retired from employment as a bookkeeper at Gloversville Housing authority.

Mary was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church and she enjoyed travelling with her husband and spending time with her family.

Mary was married July 19, 1947 to John C. Mangiagli, Sr. who passed away October 29, 2007.

Survivors include her son, John C., Jr. and Terry Mangiagli of Painted Post, New York; her brother, Veto and Louise Pezzella; her grandsons, Kyle Mangiagli of Rochester and Patrick Mangiagli of Painted Post and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony Pezzella and Frank Pezzella and sisters, Rose Hillabrandt, Josephine Spaeth and Anna Autilio

Services will be Monday at 9:15 AM at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, 149 South Main Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
