Ruth A. Seeley Gardner, 80, of 6122 Muskrat Bay Road, Brewerton, died Saturday. She was born in Syracuse. She retired this year after 20 years as an office manager for O'Connor Memorials in Brewerton. She was a member of Edwards-Weaver VFW Post 7290 in Cicero, the Women's International Bowling Congress, the 200 Club, the 600 Club and the Young at Heart Club in Cicero. Her husband, Raymond B., died in 1980. Survivors: Her companion of 17 years, Fred Farrar of Brewerton; two daughters, Barbara Gronau of North Syracuse and Muriel O'Connor of Brewerton; a son, John Gardner of Liverpool; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Theodore "Ted" Kires, 74, of South Main Street, Central Square, died Saturday. Born in Binghamton, he lived in Mattydale for 35 years. He retired in 1985 as a manufacturing manager for the former Nynex, after 34 years. He was a member of VFW Post 3146 and American Legion Post 1832, both in Mattydale. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Central Square. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A daughter, Loretta Healey, died in 1990. Survivors: His wife of 52 years, the former Margaret Wasko; twin daughters, Janet Iammatteo of Lebanon, N.J., and Diane Colton of York Beach, Maine; two sons, Theodore S. of North Syracuse and Thomas of Constantia; a sister, Lillian Dino of Mountain View, Calif.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. He was formerly associated with the Volunteers of America in Binghamton, a member of St. Mary's Church in Auburn and St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse. Bert F. Halderman, 74, of Cicero died Tuesday. He lived in the North Syracuse area for 41 years. He was born in Manchester. He graduated from University of Buffalo Law School in 1953. He retired in 1990 as a lawyer and manager of legal department of Travelers Insurance. He then entered private practice on East Molloy Road. He was a member of the Cavalry Club. He was a member of the bar associations of Central New York and New York State and served on the Arbitration Committee. He was a typist with the Army in Hawaii.Survivors: His wife of 50 years, Ruth G.; a daughter, Pamela J. Burton L. Hewitt, 72, of state Route 3, Palermo, died Wednesday. He was born in Morristown and lived in the Fulton-Palermo area since 1951. He retired in 1994 after 43 years at Nestle in Fulton. He was a charter member of Moose Lodge 1280 in Fulton and life member of Palermo Volunteer Fire Department. In 1965, he was president of Oswego County Volunteer Fire Association. He was a member of Prior Stock American Legion Post 1552, Hannibal. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.Survivors: His wife of 50 years, the former Shirley A.
