Eugene Arthur Bassett, 62, of Route 49, Constantia, died Friday. Born in Fulton, he also lived in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was a bartender for many years. He was a member of Constantia and Port Charlotte Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. He coached Little League in Port Charlotte and was a member of South Florida Billiards League. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1958 to '75. His wife, Rosemarie, died previously. Survivors: A son, Richard R. Reichel of Port Charlotte; four grandchildren.
