PALMYRA - Died on June 12, 2009 at age 72. Predeceased by his sons Thomas & Robert. Survived by his wife Fusako "Yoko" DeVito; children, Kathlene Whitmore, Daniel J. DeVito; sister Mary DeVito-Rogers; several nieces & nephews. A U.S Air Force Veteran, he retired from Mobil Chemical after more than 35 years. ONTARIO - Went to be with her Lord on May 31, 2009 at age 88. She died peacefully surrounded by her family at The Pines of Peace home in Ontario. She is survived by her son Michael (Patricia) Plantenberg of Ontario, NY, daughter Marilynn Mowris of Hudson, NY, and seven grandchildren; Deb (Tom) Cumpston of Webster, NY, Kim (Brian) Peek of Webster, NY, John (Theodora) Plantenberg of Vero Beach, FL, Ed (Kim) Czyzewski of Philmont, NY, Rebecca (William) Seymour of Ontario, NY, Gary Czyzewski of Chatham, NY, Sarah Plantenberg of Groton, NY. Ten great-grandchildren, Jeff and Karissa Cumpston, Irini, Evaggelia & Michael Plantenberg, Lauryn Czyzewski, Ashley Czyzewski, Hannah & William Seymour, and Joshua Peek. MARION - Died on May 19, 2009 at age 77. Survived by his wife Nora; daughters, Kathleen McMahon, Maureen (Dave) Wilbert; grandsons, Gavin, Kyle; brothers, Joseph (Eileen) McMahon, George (Vivian) McMahon, Gene McMahon; many loving nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his brother William. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War & retired from the Department of Environmental Conservation after 26 years. He is survived by his sons, Brian (Karen Marie) Joslyn, Robert (Linda) Joslyn; daughters, Karen Ann Joslyn, Paula Simmons; 3 grandchildren; brothers, James "Skip" Joslyn, Howard (Marge) Joslyn, John (Shirley) Joslyn; sister Susan; several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his brothers, Donovan “Ike”, Ronald & sister Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held privately. Interment at Palmyra Village cemetery. Winnett, Raymond

HORSEHEADS, NY: Died on April 26, 2009 at age 92. Predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Leta, parents Joseph & Ann (Billet) Winnett, brothers, Fred, Leo, Alphonse, Roma, & sister Bertha Genest. He is survived by his sons, Jerald (Julie) of Macedon, Richard (Nancy) of Bath, Peter (Wendy) of Big Flats; grandchildren, Christopher (Tina) Winnett, Leah (Mark) Lewis, Monique Winnett, Jenna Winnett, Desiree Winnett. Ray was a graduate of Dexter High School. He enlisted in the US Army January 1, 1941. During his military tour he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant & participated in the military campaigns of North Africa; the invasions of Sicily & Normandy as well as serving in France, Belgium & Germany. During his service abroad Ray was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star & a Presidential Citation. Upon returning from Europe & being honorably discharged from the Army, Ray went to work for Rochester Gas & Electric where he worked in sales most of his career. While with RG&E, Ray worked throughout the Lakeshore District in sales & marketing. He earned an Associates Degree in Business Management from Rochester Institute of Technology. Ray retired from RG&E on December 12, 1980 after being employed for 35 years. He was an active member of St. Mary Magdalene’s Catholic Church in Wolcott, NY between 1946-1983, served as a Village Trustee in Wolcott, was a member of the Wolcott Rotary Club & served as its President between 1964-1965. He also served seven years on the North Rose-Wolcott School Board. Ray & Leta lived in Seneca Falls, NY between 1983 & 1988 & later moved to Ontario, NY where they lived between 1988 & 2004. From 2004 until his death, Ray lived at Appleridge Apartments, Horseheads, NY. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather & brother, Ray was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish & boat. Ray & Leta were avid euchre players. They spent winters during their early retirement years in the Clearwater, FL area. Ray’s family would like to thank the residents & staff at Appleridge for their kindness & care they provided during his stay there, Specifically many thanks go out to the nurses & aides on the “C” wing of Appleridge, Southern Tier Hospice, Chemung Family Home Care & Bath VA for their support. Family & friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Wednesday at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church 5823 Walworth Rd, Ontario. Burial Calvary cemetery. Donations may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the Southern Tier Hospice in Ray’s memory. Arrangements by MURPHY FUNERAL HOME.

Born Feb 8, 1915, died April 26, 2009. Predeceased by husband Stanley J. Goodness and sister Inez Goodness; survived by children Michael (Gaie) Goodness, and Lisa (Michael) Galens; grandchildren Kelcey Kane, Elliott Goodness, Leah Galens, Elizabeth Goodness, Jennifer Galens, Jason (Carla) Galens; great-grandchildren Nathaniel Kane, Olivia Salisbury, Ginger Galens, & Johnathan Galens.
