She was a homemaker. Survivors: Her husband of 51 years, Charles R.; five daughters, Fay Madigan and Linda Henderson, both of Hastings, Kay Forbes of Camden, Carol Bristol of Pulaski and Lavina Engle of Richland; two sons, Ross and Roy, both of Redfield; two sisters, Alberta Webster of Mexico and Marjorie McEwen of Fulton; four brothers, George Strough, Verne Bickford and Charles Bickford, all of Fulton, and Harry Bickford of Hannibal; her stepfather, James Bickford of Fulton; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Eva S. Hungerford Demaintenon, 79, of Oneida, died Thursday at Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility. Born in LaFayette, she graduated from LaFayette High School. She had worked at Bohanon Press in East Syracuse and was an accountant and bookkeeper for other companies in the Syracuse area. She was a member of New Hope Christian Community Church. Survivors: Three daughters, Frances Hoover of East Syracuse, and Barbara Harris and Deborah Collins, both of Orlando, Fla.; six sons, Keith of Syracuse, Michael and Donald, both of Westmoreland, and Douglas, Terrence and Thomas, all of Orlando; 14 grandchildren. Norman R. Gilbo, 87, formerly of 625 LeMoyne Ave., Syracuse, died Thursday at Northwoods Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility, Cortland. Born in Watertown, he was a mill worker for Syracuse Lumber Co. for more than 20 years. His wife, Louise Ann, died in 1999. Survivors: Three stepdaughters, Linda A. O'Brien of Central Square, Shirley L. Downing of Syracuse and Beverly J. Mauro of North Syracuse; two stepsons, Thomas J. Gilbo of Lutz, Fla. and William C. Gilbo of Geneva; two brothers, Harold and James, both of Watertown; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Monday in North Watertown Cemetery. Irma P. Mattison, 85, of 572 county Route 52, Richland, died Thursday. She was life resident of the town of Albion. She graduated from Pulaski Academy High School. She retired in 1978 from Oswego County Office of Emergency Preparedness after 17 years. She co-owned and operated a dairy farm with her husband for 60 years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Pulaski. She was a member of Pulaski Grange 730 and state and national Grange organizations. Survivors: Her husband of 66 years, Samuel O.; two daughters, Mary Anna Washburn of Lacona and Jean Marie Densmore of Orwell; two sons, George P. Mattison of Atlanta, Ga. and Samuel Arthur of Richland; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Orval P. McBride, 81, of 126 Brown St., Elbridge, died Thursday. Born in Ava, Ill., he graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1942 and Colgate Rochester Divinity School. He was a Baptist minister and retired in 1986 after 13 years at Elbridge Community Church. He served at Hannibal Community Church from 1955 to '73. He was past master and chaplain of Jordan Lodge 386 Free & Accepted Masons, grand chaplain for Grand Lodge State of New York and a former Project Rose outreach worker. Survivors: His wife of 56 years, the former Lillian Mears; two daughters, Karen Cook of Massena and Cheryl McBride-Magee of Rochester; two sisters, Pearl Austin of Washington, Ill., and Dorothy Graff of Ava; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Dr. John Page Russell, 70, of Wintergreen, Va., died Monday. Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., he graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Temple Medical School and had lived on West Lake Street in Skaneateles until moving to Wintergreen in 1996. He worked in the clinical pathology department of Upstate Medical Center and retired from the pathology department of Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in 1996. He was a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Pathology, American Society of Microbiologists and New York Medical Society. Survivors: His wife, Linda; a daughter, Pamela DeShane of Midlothian, Va.; two sons, Clark of New York City and Bruce of Charlottesville, Va.; two grandchildren. Memorial services: Private. Dorothy C. "Dot" Adamski, 64, of North Florida Road, Mattydale, died Thursday at Loretto. Born in Nanticoke, Pa., she graduated from St. Lucy's Academy. She was a frameperson at Bell Atlantic Co. for more than 25 years. She was a volunteer and served on the board of directors of Wanderer's Rest Humane Association, Canastota, and a communicant of St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale. Maurice W. Birchmeyer, 83, of Syracuse died Thursday. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from North High School. He retired in March as president after 66 years with Wolff and Dungey Inc. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church in Solvay. He was a former member of the Pastime Athletic Club and the American Foundry Society. He was a semi-professional baseball player in the 1930s and a member of the Kren's Better Bat team that won the 1939 New York State Championship. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and received the Air Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross and other military honors. His wife, Dorothy, died in 1987. Survivors: A daughter, Mary Barsema of Rochester; two sons, the Rev. Robert J. of Syracuse and John R. of Liverpool; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Rita A. Pendock Centra, 67, of DeWitt died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, she was a life resident of the Syracuse area. She and her husband owned Westcott Florist for 41 years. She was also the former owner and operator of the Matchmaker Beauty Salon, Eastwood. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church. In 1997, she received the Catholic Charities President's Medallion. Charles W. Christian, 73, of Clay died Friday. He was born in Syracuse. He retired in 1985 as a supervisor in the baking soda division at Allied Chemical, where he worked 32 years. He was a member and deacon of Clay Presbyterian Church, a member and service officer of American Legion Post 787, Cicero, a life member of Edwards Weaver Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7290, North Syracuse, and a member of Seneca River Masonic Lodge 160, Baldwinsville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
