Frank F. Witkowski
Word has been received of the death of Frank F. Witkowski, age 88, of 60 Church Street, Saranac Lake, who died on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at AMC-Uihlein Center in Lake Placid.
Calling hours are tentatively set to take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 2PM -4PM and 6PM - 8PM. A bible Vigil Service will be held at 3:45 PM on Wednesday afternoon. A Mass of Christian Burial is tentatively set to take place at 12:00 PM on Thursday February 19, 2009 at St. Bernard's Church, with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Elizabeth Helen (Diddy) Shea
Elizabeth Helen (Diddy) Shea of Lake Placid died on February 7,2009 peacefully in her sleep under the care of Hospice at her home. She was bom 1/29/12 in Saranac Lake, NY. daughter of George and Helen Steams. She was the wife of double Olympic Gold Medalist John (Jack) A Shea.
She attended Saranac Lake schools before working for Western Union in Lake Placid, Syracuse, New York City and was a relief operator all over NY State. She worked in Shea's Market and Francis Brewster Shop in Lake Placid. She was a member of St. Agnes Church and enjoyed knitting. An avid sports enthusiast, she enjoyed special moments of the 1932, 1964 and 2002 Winter Olympic Games. She was the wife Olympic Gold Medalist Jack Shea, mother of an Olympian James E. Shea and grandmother of Olympic Gold Medalist James E. Shea Jr. She was predeceased by a son Patrick J. Shea, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by 3 sons, John AShea Jr. and Stephanie of Lake Placid and Sanibel Island, FL, James E Shea and Judith and Michael E. Shea both of Lake Placid. She was the grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. (including William E. Kane 11, Patrick J. Kane and Ryan S, Kane of Lake Placid.
Calling hours will be at the Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, February 15 from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral service will be at St. Agnes Church on Monday, February 16th at 1 lam. Burial will be take place in the spring at St. Agnes Cemetery.

Reba Jean Prellwitz
Reba Jean Prellwitz, age 92, formerly of Rainbow Lake, NY and Saranac Village at Will Rogers, died peacefully Saturday, February 07, 2009 at AMC-Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid where she had been a resident since 2005. In her final hours she was surrounded by family and pets and accompanied by beautiful violin music played by her great-niece.
Born in Rainbow Lake, New York on April 29, 1916, she was the daughter of James and Flora (Bryant) Prellwitz.
Ms. Prellwitz grew up in Rainbow Lake and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1934. She lived in Jersey City and then Madison, NJ for over 50 years and worked as an executive secretary for Western Electric and AT&T for 35 years in New York City. For many years she tutored inner city children through her church, Calvary Presbyterian in Florham Park, NJ. Her greatest loves were to feed the wild birds and tend her beautiful rose garden. She truly enjoyed the company of therapy dogs that visited her at AMC-Uihlein Mercy Center and loved watching Animal Planet.
She is survived by her nephew Noel Prellwitz and Susan Leubert of Rainbow Lake, NY, and her great-niece Kama Prellwitz, also of Rainbow Lake, NY. She was preceded in death by her brother Herman C. Prellwitz.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels.

Karen A. Hurst
Karen A. Hurst Donnelly of the Harrietstown Road, Saranac Lake, passed into the hands of the Lord, surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 5, 2009 following a courageous eighteen-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Karen was born in Troy New York, the daughter of Richard S. and Ann M (Barneville) Hurst. She graduated from St. Mary’s Elementary School in Waterford, NY and in 1962, graduated from Catholic High School in Troy, NY. She was employed by AT&T in White Plains, New York and Montgomery Ward’s in Menands, New York for several years. On September 19, 1964, she married H. Peter Donnelly at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waterford. Following a year’s stay in Saranac Lake, she moved to Syracuse while Peter was working in that area. In 1968, she returned to Saranac Lake with her family and has made her home on the Harrietstown Road for the past 40 years.
Karen was a stay-at-home mom until her daughter entered school. It was Karen’s love for music that inspired her daughter Kathy to pursue a career in music. Karen never missed one of her daughter’s concerts, nor did she ever miss Kathy’s students’ concerts once Kathy became a Music Teacher. Karen always had encouraging words for Kathy’s students before and after concerts.
Karen always loved working with children and volunteered at St. Bernard’s as a classroom aide, and started volunteering at the Saranac Lake Day Care Center when it opened. She took a part time position at the center during its second season of operation and later became the center’s director. She took pride in the fact that the center was the first state-licensed day care in the area. She later retired from this position and has enjoyed being an indispensable part of her grandson’s life as well as being active in the family business, Crystal Spring Dairy/Donnelly’s Ice Cream, until her death.
Karen was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Parish where, in addition to volunteering at St. Bernard’s School, she taught CCD Religious Education classes, and served on the CCD Board and as Board President. She was a CYO adult leader in St Bernard’s Parish, at the Guggenheim Center, and at St. John’s in the Wilderness Church in Lake Clear. She was an early member of the Parish’s Christian Family Movement group, and was chairperson of her parish Art and Environment committee. Karen also enjoyed her work as a volunteer for the Ecumenical Soup Kitchen at St. Luke’s Church. She was a member of the AMC Hospital Auxiliary, and served as the Auxiliary Board President and as co-chairperson of the Holiday House Bazaar. She also served for several years as Chairperson of the Adirondack Antiques Show and Sale, one of Auxiliary’s annual major fundraising events, and played an integral role in the design of AMC’s Meditation Room at the time of the recent hospital expansion. Karen was dedicated volunteer for both the AMC Auxiliary at the hospital front desk, and at High Peaks Hospice. She continued her work in both organizations even during her illness. Karen has always gone out of her way to help others and remained active in her community volunteer activities until just recently.
Karen’s desire to help her community did not stop when her husband and she wintered in Florida over the past nine years. She was an active volunteer for the Daytona Beach Shores Chamber of Commerce, serving as a volunteer at the chamber’s Daytona International Speedway food concession, and co-chairing the chamber’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. For the past several years she help to organize an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday for all the children who were visiting family members living in her Peck Plaza Condominium Complex. Her ecumenical spirit traveled with her as she volunteered at the United Community Methodist Church Food Concession during Bike Week to help raise money for the church.
Karen loved walking with her friends, spending time with her grandson (traveling to watch him compete in area horse shows), cross country skiing, golfing, traveling, and crocheting. She was also an avid reader.
Karen is survived by her husband of 44 years, one daughter and son-in-law, David and Kathleen Kokes of Mooers, NY, and one grandson, Christopher Kokes, also of Mooers. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joyce Hurst of Waterford, and her sister and brother in law Anthony and Suzanne Smith also of Waterford. He is also survived by her maternal aunt, Mrs. Joseph (Rita) Dunn of Rensselaer, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
Funeral arrangements are being cared for by the Fortune-Keough Funeral home. Calling hours will be held on Sunday February 8th from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 with a Bible vigil at 3:45 PM. Francis A. (Peter) Smith
Francis A. (Peter) Smith, 62, formerly of Keene, passed away at Greenwood Apartments in Lake Placid on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009. Peter was born on Oct. 14, 1946, in Keene Valley, the son of Roland and Barbara (Straight) Smith. He loved fishing and playing golf with his friends, and he also enjoyed hunting and spending time in camp with his cousins and enjoyed being with his many friends.
Peter is survived by seven brothers and six sisters-in-law, John and Dale Smith of Wilmington, Rolland and Linda Smith of Keene, James and Marianne Smith of Jay, Alphonso and Betty Smith of Wilmington, Jerry Smith of Keene Valley, George Smith and companion, Connie, of Lake Placid and Tom and Darla Smith of Lake Placid; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Alice and Richard Empoliti of Aiken, S.C., and Sue and Pat Blinn of Lake Placid. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Geneva and her husband, James Weeks, and Patricia Smith.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery in Keene. Edward L. Clarey
Edward L. Clarey, 90, of 185 Old Military Rd., Lake Placid, NY passed away Friday, February 6, 2009 at Adirondack Medical Center-Uihlein. He was born in Syracuse, NY March 30, 1918 the son of Ross and Irene (Marcely) Clarey. Mr. Clarey was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He married Beatrice Frayne in November 1946 in St. Agnes Church, Lake Placid, NY. He worked in Lake Placid for 38 years at the Lake Placid Hardware Store, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 326, Lake Placid, NY. He is survived by his wife Beatrice (Frayne) Clarey of Lake Placid, NY; two sons, Michael Clarey and his wife Sue Anne of Minoa, NY and James Clarey and his wife Sue Ellen of Manlius, NY; one brother, John Fleegel of E. Syracuse, NY and one sister Jeanne O'Brien of Phelps, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren, one niece Karen Caligiore and her husband Sandy and one great niece Aimee Caligiore. Calling hours will be held Monday, February 9 from 11:00am to 12:00 Noon at the Reiss Memorial Chapel at AMC Uihlein, 185 Old Military Rd., Lake Placid, NY. Rena B. Foote
Rena B. Foote, 84, of Tupper Lake, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at AMC Mercy Center in Tupper Lake where she had resided since September 2001. Born on May 29, 1924 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Archie and Josephine (Barrette) Gaudet. She was a graduate of Holy Ghost Academy. On August 6, 1946 she married Roy Charles Foote at St. Alphonsus church. Mrs. Foote worked for a time at Corneau’s family market, Grand Union and later as head book keeper for Ginsberg’s dept store. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Ste Anne’s society and the Adirondack Adult Center. She enjoyed bowling with the ladies bowling league, playing cards with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband were volunteers with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, a daughter Patricia Varden and her husband Patrick of Tupper Lake, a son Wayne and his wife Nancy of Tupper Lake, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a dear friend Aluva Marconi of Texas. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Francis, Raymond and Howard and one sister MaryAnne. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 8pm. with the Rev. Kris Lauzon officiating. Grace M. Clement
Grace M. Clement, 68, of Tupper Lake died Friday, February 6, 2009 at her home. Born on April 8, 1940 in Conifer, she was the daughter of Medore and Clara (LaGray) Sauvie. Grace was employed as a developmental aide at Sunmount DDSO for 30 years. She was also a waitress in local restaurants for many years. Grace is survived by three sons; Michael Clement of Malta, Allen Clement of Tupper Lake, Tracy (Karen) Clement of Johnsonville and one daughter, Stacey Ann Mallette of Tupper Lake. She is survived by five grandchildren; Mikey, Taylor, Cassie, Chad and Brandon as well as several great grandchildren. Grace is also survived by two sisters and eight brothers; Elizabeth (Jim) Collins of Florida, Sally Baker of Lyon Mountain, Clay (Patti) Sauvie of Saranac Lake, Curt (Mary) Sauvie of Johnsonville, Jeff (Karen) Sauvie of Tennessee, Ron (Holly) Sauvie of Tupper Lake, Jim (Thiry) Sauvie of Brasher Falls, Bob (Robbie) Sauvie of Georgia, Terry (Kathy) Sauvie of Pennsylvania and Rex Sauvie of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Her very good friend and caregiver, Theresa Gaff, also survives. There will be no services. Memorial contributions can be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad. Vernon J. Sabin, Jr.
Vernon J. Sabin, Jr., 70, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born on September 19, 1938 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Veron and Catherine (LaGray) Sabin. Vern attended Tupper Lake High School and was a member of the track team. After school he worked construction and joined the International Brick Layers Union in 1962. He worked on many school projects and the two high rises in Saranac Lake. In 1980, he went to work in Albany as Building Superintendent for Surface Systems, a company that did mostly restoration work on high rise buildings in the tri-state area. Vern enjoyed travel and new experiences, but in 1984 decided it was time to work close to home. He worked at Sunmount DDSO until retiring in 1992 for health reasons. Vern loved racing and raced stock cars on local tracks in the Nascar sportsman class. He also raced with the Tupper Lake Fire Dept. firematics teams and was Captain of Hose Company 3. His real love was snowmobiling. He raced against the best of factory and private sponsored and won many championships including the New York State Championship in 1967. After racing he enjoyed trail riding, starting back up the Tupper Lake Snowmobile club. Vern was chairman of the USSA Drivers community from 1969-1971. He leaves behind a son Terry and his wife Amanda of Niagara Falls, a daughter in law Sonia of South Carolina, 4 grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Chris and Danelle. Two brothers, Richard “Bucky” Clark and is wife Barbara of Tupper Lake and Donald Clark and his wife Joyce of Malone. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents and a son Jerry Sabin in 2002. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 18 from 4 to 7 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. Joseph Alexander LeBlanc
Joseph Alexander LeBlanc, 79, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2009 with both his children at his side at AMC Mercy Center in Tupper Lake, NY.
He was born on November 21st, 1929 in Tupper Lake, NY, the son of the late Edward and Hilda Poirier LeBlanc. He graduated from Holy Ghost Academy in 1947. He also attended Siena College in Loudonville, NY. While living in Cohoes, NY, he was a salesman at Pierce Furniture store before being drafted in the U.S. Army in 1951. He went to Ft. Edwards, MA then to Camp Rucker in Alabama. In 1952, he was stationed in the 7th Calvary in Japan and then assigned to Korea. Other stations included Camp Kilner and Ft. Dix.
P-2 held many different jobs including driving truck for the Altamont Dairy in Tupper Lake, NY; Director at the YMCA in Syracuse; driver with Carrier Corp. in Syracuse, NY; foreman with Wilson Refining Company in NJ; delivery truck driver in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn; and an employee of American Brakeshoe in NJ before returning to Tupper Lake.
After his return to Tupper Lake, in 1965, P-2 worked with his sister, Irene to open the Wheel Inn. One year later, he purchased Ivan’s Lounge changing the name to Al’s Lounge located in Downtown Tupper Lake. He married Kay Trombley in 1967 and had two children. He owned and operated this neighborhood tavern from 1966 through 2006. He enjoyed visiting with customers from all over the world. One of his favorite visits with two women from Dublin, Ireland resulted in a dream of renovation. Unfortunately he suffered a stroke in 2000 and was unable to complete his dream. In the summer of 2006, the family decided to complete the renovation and reopened Al’s Lounge changing the name to P-2’s Irish Pub.
Throughout his life, he was an active volunteer in the community serving as Treasurer of the Franklin County Dealers Association, a Director of the local Chamber of Commerce President of the Tupper Lake Rotary Club. P-2 received the Paul Harris Fellow Award in 1995. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Club, VFW and Knights of Columbus. In 1997, P-2 was honored for 50 years of service with the K of C. P-2 supported the Junction Revival over many years and was a volunteer at the Tin Man Triathlon where he had a station every year. He was a member of Next Stop Tupper Lake! and Charter Member of Wild Center.
P-2 moved to Will Rogers Village at Saranac Lake in the summer of 2006 and loved socializing with many new friends. In his final days at Mercy he enjoyed attending mass, playing bingo and cards with dear friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Michelle LeBlanc Blair of Poultney, Vermont and one son, Alan Joseph LeBlanc, his wife Kelli and grandson Connor of Ft. Myers, Florida.
He is survived by four brothers, Maurice LeBlanc in Lewiston, ID; Edward LeBlanc and wife Helen of Tupper Lake, NY; Ernest J. White of Alexandria, VA; Valmont LeBlanc and wife Collette of Mountain Home, AR and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, one sister Irene LeBlanc, brothers Donat, Rene and Pierre LeBlanc.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 19th from 2 – 4pm and 7-9pm at the Stuart, Fortune, Keough Funeral Home on Cliff Avenue in Tupper Lake, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Friday, March 20th at 11am. The reception with family will follow at P-2’s Irish Pub from 1pm -3pm at 31 Main Street, Downtown Tupper Lake, NY.

Carl Edward Kern
Carl Edward Kern, age 83, of 20 Cortez Lane, Saranac Lake, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Ruth Bean Kern, two daughters; Jean Kern of Saranac Lake, Mrs. Jane Nohle of Lisle, New York, two granddaughters, Martille Nohle of Lisle, New York, Kensey Nohle of Lisle, New York and two sisters Helen Sprague, of Saranac Lake, NY and Mrs. Marie Law of Burlington, Vermont.
Mr. Kern was born on August 22, 1925, the son of Conrad and Leila (Charland) Kern.
He graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1944. Mr. Kern served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II as a Corporal in the 290th Combat Engineer Battalion. He was employed for 38 years at the Ray Brook State Hospital as a store's clerk.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 1PM - 3PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.

Geraldine M. Primeau
Geraldine M. Primeau, 92, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009.
She was the daughter of Frank and Vivian (nee Brown) Drasye, born March 26, 1916, in Moira, N.Y.
Geraldine worked as an accounting clerk before retiring. She moved to Port Charlotte from Saranac Lake, N.Y., in 1990, and was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church. Geraldine enjoyed arts and crafts, and working crossword puzzles. As an avid golfer, one of her greatest thrills was, at age 79, to have her first hole in one.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 64 years, Gerald; daughters, Mary (James) Boeckman of Port Charlotte, and Muriel (Steve) Paye of Asheboro, N.C.; son, William (Penny) Primeau of Lakeland, Fla.; sister, Frances Lytle of Malone, N.Y.; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at San Antonio Catholic Church. Muriel Jean Comstock
Muriel Jean Comstock, age 79, of Coral Springs, FL and formerly of Saranac Lake died on March 12, 2009 in Coconut Creek, FL Born on September 28, 1929 in Rochester, NY the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Herbin. She married William L Comstock on January 19, 1953 in New York. He predeceased her. Mrs. Comstock had been employed as a home health aid for many years. She was a member of Church by the Glades, in Coral Springs, FL
Jeannie enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved to read, especially murder mysteries. She enjoyed watching her two favorite teams; Panthers Hockey Team and the Miami Dolphins Football Team. Jeannie loved animals and nature especially when it rained. She loved the water and being on a boat. Of all the things that made her special, there are two things she would want to be remembered by and that would be her love of Jesus and her love for people.
She is survived by three sons: Ronald Comstock of Albany, NY; David Comstock of Arcadia, FL and Mike Comstock of Coral Springs, FL; two daughters Karin Smith of NY; and Kathy Free of Buffalo, NY; 4 Grandchildren and 1Great Grandchild.
A Grave side service will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 1:30 pm at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake in Saranac Lake. Local arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.

Patsy A. Clark
Patsy A. Clark, 70, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at her home in Tupper Lake. Born on December 27, 1938 in Long Lake, she was the daughter of Lyman and Beatrice (Burnett) Beers. She was pre-deceased by her husband Martin and her sister Donna. Patsy was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a past member of the Long Lake Fireman’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed many years of knitting, crocheting and quilting for her family, friends and neighbors and was well known for her fine baked goods. She is survived by two daughters; Teena Clark of Long Lake and Robin Speas of Rural Hall, Nc., three sons; Tracy Clark and his wife Linda, Tony Clark and his wife Donna and Jody Clark all of Long Lake. She is also survived by one brother, Eugene Beers of Saranac Lake, seven grandchildren, Roger, Jason, Michael, Melissa, Catherine, Jeremy and Tatiana and one great-granddaughter, Amy Jean. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, March 13th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at St. Henry’s church parish hall in Long Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry’s Church in Long Lake. Burial will follow in the Long Lake cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Henry’s church.
Judy Vaughn
Judy Vaughn, age 70, of 232 Indian Rock Trail, Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania on February 09, 1939, she was the daughter of Daniel and Rhoda (Knepper) Varner. She married Loren Vaughn on July 25, 1975 in Saranac Lake, New York.
Judy had been employed as a teachers Aid at the Saranac Lake Petrova Elementary School for many years until her retirement in 2007. Prior to that she had been employed as an LPN for several years in Chambersburg, PA. Judy loved to travel with her husband Loren, and together they had traveled extensively including Alaska, Nova Scotia, the west coast and all the providences of Canada.
She is survived by her husband Loren, one son Danny Hardsock and his wife Rebecca of Revloc, PA, two daughters Tracey Howe and her husband John of Chambersburg, PA, and Amanda Buck and her husband Benjamin of Saranac Lake, NY, four step-children Adrian Vaughn, Dale Vaughn, Monte Vaughn, and Jean Vaughn all of Saranac Lake, NY; five grandchildren Travis Buck, Jeremy Rogers, Loren Kilburne, Danielle Hardsock and Melanie Cook, one great-grandson Parker Kilburne; one brother Tim Varner of Chambersburg, PA, and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one step-son Paul Vaughn, and two sisters.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 6PM - 8PM and on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 2PM -4PM and 6PM - 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 21, 2009 at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake, with Msgr. C.J. McAvoy officiating. Burial will follow at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Peter Venance LeMay
Peter Venance LeMay, age 79, of Lake Clear, New York died Friday, March 06, 2009 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Montreal, Canada on May 15, 1929, he was the son of Venance LeMay II and Mary Rita (McMartin) LeMay.
Mr. LeMay graduated from St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire. He attended Harvard University and graduated from Syracuse University as an English Major. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1951. He became a Cpl. and fought with the First Marine Division along the front lines and was seriously wounded on October 15th, 1952. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in that battle.
Peter was an avid fly fisherman who loved the Adirondacks and spent summers at his mother's and stepfathers Camp on lower Saranac Lake, Camp Massapequa, which the family still owns. He traveled to New Zealand, Alaska and Maine to fish. He also loved golf.
He is survived by his wife Rogene (Vosburgh) LeMay whom he married on August 1, 1954 in Saranac Lake, New York. They had one daughter, Barbara of Saranac Lake (telephone 518-891-0591) who survives him. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer McIntosh Smith of Bedford, Indiana, Shane McIntosh and his wife Judi of Lake Clear, NY and Sam Darring from Los Angeles, CA; three great grandchildren Ehyrie Buehler, Lyric Smith and Blake McIntosh, two nephews William and James Donati from Wilbraham, Mass. and several cousins from Canada. Mr. LeMay was predeceased by his mother, his stepfather Roy A, Floyd-Jones, two sisters Mary Elizabeth LeMay and Barbara (LeMay) Howley and one sister-in-law Gloria Vosburgh Donati.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 3PM - 6PM. A Veteran's Memorial Association Service will take place at 5:45 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A reception will immediately follow at the Saranac Lake Moose Club in Saranac Lake. Burial will take place in Harrietstown cemetery in June.

Beverly Jean Law
Beverly Jean Law, 72, of 84 Park Ave., Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, March 3 at her home.
Law was born in Saranac Lake on June 28, 1936, the daughter of Howard and Bertha (Roberts) Myatt. She married Stephen E. Law on February 26, 1960 in Saint Bernard’s Church. He predeceased her on February 20, 1992.
Law was a life long resident of Saranac Lake. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1957. She completed training as an x-ray technician at the Syracuse Guild School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Saranac General Hospital, Sunmount, Uihlein and in people’s homes. She later graduated from North Country Community College in 1981 receiving an AA degree in Retail Business Management and in 1991 with an AA degree in Liberal Arts.
Mrs. Law had been employed at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise since 1990 until she retired in 1995. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Bernard. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening, painting, knitting and a good book.
She is survived by her daughter Dr. Judy Law-Torok, son- in-law Kenneth Torok, Jr., and grandson Jason Law -Torok of Palos Verdes Estates, CA; her sisters-in-laws Betty Myatt of Paul Smiths, NY, Emma Berghom of Saranac Lake, NY, Marie Law and her brother-in-law Ray Law of Vermont and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her father, mother and two brothers Howard and Wayne Myatt.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, March 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A bible vigil service will take place on Friday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial win take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 7 at St. Bernard’s Church. Burial will take place in St. Bernard cemetery in Saranac Lake.
