Raymond C. Finn
Raymond Calhoun Finn died Oct. 29, 2006 at Unity Hospital at the age of 77. He made his home on Fetzner Road.
Mr. Finn was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co. where he worked as an industrial engineer at Kodak Park and in the International Division at Kodak Office. In his later years, he worked for Wegmans as a "Helping Hand" where he made many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond M. and Arloa Finn. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Brobst) Finn; children, Linda (Michael) Yarborough of Anchorage, Alaska; Patricia (Craig) Stuart of Calgary, Alberta, Susan Finn of Charlotte, N.C., Molly (Russell) Haynes of Manlius, N.Y. and Michael P. Finn of Manhattan; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Lucille (Norman) Carruthers and Patricia (Frank) May; four nieces and two nephews.
His funeral service was held at Hope Lutheran Church. Interment was in Irondequoit cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be sent to: Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Arrangements were made by Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home.
John W. Anderson
John W. Anderson of North Avenue, Hilton, died Nov. 1, 2006 at Unity Hospital at the age of 73.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon (Follett) Anderson. Mr. Anderson is survived by his mother, Geraldine Anderson; father-in-law, Richard L. Follett Sr.; sons, Michael Anderson; Jack (Susan) Follett, John (Tina) Cordone; daughters, Karen (Paul) Keller and Wendy (Chris) Kelley; brother, David Anderson; sisters, Kathleen (Earl) Schiffnauer and Genie (Nick) Fabozzi; grandchildren, Matthew and Courtney Epps, Brett Cordone, Lauren Keller, Ashley Anderson and Lilli Follett.
His funeral service was held at Vay, Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Donations in his name may be made to Unity Health Foundation, Dialysis Unit, 1555 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY 14626.
Richard James Henry
Richard James Henry of Webster, formerly of Irondequoit, died Oct. 30, 2006.
Mr. Henry was a founder and owner of Midtown Tire in Rochester and the owner of Fincher Motors in Rochester for 17 years and subsequent owner of Henry Oldsmobile, Cadillac and Pontiac in Geneva for over 20 years prior to his retirement. Besides his family, he will be remembered by his many friends at Bristol Mountain, the Gyro Club, Geneva, Oak Hill Country Club and the Bayview Wegmans.�
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou Egan Henry; children, Christine(Ed) Campbell of North Carolina, Bill Henry, Katie Henry, Carol Wild and Ann(John) Schading of North Carolina; grandchildren, Ryan and Josh Campbell of Georgia, Ian, Corey and Graham Wild, Parker Henry, Kyle and Casey Schading of North Carolina; sisters, Joan(Carl) Foss, Judy(Herman) Springer, many other sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Interment was private. In memory of Mr. Henry, memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements were made by Paul W. Harris Funeral Home.
E. Ronald Durand Jr.
On Sept. 20, 2006 Ron Durand lost his courageous battle with cancer and died at home surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 9, 1936 in Mineola, N.Y., but spent the majority of his adult life in Rochester, N.Y. In 1997 he moved to Phoenix, Ariz. and started a new business venture with Passport Health, a national network of independently owned and operated travel health and immunization clinics.
Mr. Durand graduated from Aquinas Institute in Rochester and earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Notre Dame in 1959. While there, he met his future wife, Elizabeth King, who attended St. Mary's College. After graduating from Notre Dame, Mr. Durand volunteered for the United States Marine Corps, entered officer candidate school at Quantico, Va., and was selected for flight school. He completed his flight training, qualifying as a carrier pilot, flight instructor, helicopter flight instructor, and instrument flight check pilot.
Mr. Durand married
Elizabeth King in August 1962 in Rochester. They moved to Corona del Mar where he served at the El Toro Air Base, prior to his tour of duty as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. During the war he was highly decorated and flew countless rescue missions. His commendations include seven Air Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Presidential Service Badge. During the Johnson administration he flew Marine One, the presidential helicopter.
Upon retiring from the Marine Corps as a Captain, Mr. Durand enrolled in law school at the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1969. He and his wife returned to Rochester where they raised three children. He worked in the identification industry for many years, where his company Macro Industries pioneered photo identification technology and processing. He later became the director of Rochester International Airport, which be brought through major restructuring, renovations and expansions. Throughout the years his livelihood involved his love of flying. He piloted helicopters for the Rochester Police Department, tours over Niagara Falls, and the U.S. Forest Service as a volunteer.
Mr. Durand is survived by his wife, Elizabeth King Durand; his children, Catherine Durand (Patrick Brawdy) of St. Helena, Calif., Michael Durand (Ann Stephenson) of Seattle, Wash., and Carolyn Durand (Ben Champoux) of Nantucket, Mass.; grandchildren, Clare, Joe, and Simone. He is also survived by his five brothers and sisters: Barbara Durand of Phoenix, Ariz., Dennis Durand (Tatjana) of Mankato, Minn., Mike Durand (Pat), Mary Patricia Durand, and Jim Durand, all of Phoenix.
His burial ceremony is at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 at Arlington National cemetery, with Marine Corps full military honors. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 259 Rutgers St., Rochester. Friends are invited to a reception immediately following at Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford.
Donations in his name may be made to any hospice organization, especially Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, or the Aquinas Institute, Class of 1954 Memorial Scholarship.
Margaret F. Baltz
Margaret F. Baltz died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006.
Born Margaret Our Fletcher on March 12, 1925 in Floral Park, NY, she was a graduate of Russell Sage College. Mrs. Baltz and her husband, the late John A. Baltz, settled in Brockport where she taught at the State University of New York at Brockport before raising her children and working at the family's Ben Franklin Store.
Mrs. Baltz' volunteer activities included many in the community and with the First Presbyterian Church of Brockport, where she was a member. She enjoyed singing at her church and with the Sweden Senior Singers. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, tennis, golf, bridge, gourmet cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening and walking with friends.
Mrs. Baltz is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Bob) Nash of St. Louis, J. Fletcher (Lisa) Baltz of East Aurora, NY. Peg Baltz of Irondequoit; Anne Baltz of Brockport; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; nephew Stuart Dickerman; cousins; sister-in-law Elizabeth Baltz of Brockport; and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband John A. Baltz, sister Anne Louise and brother-in-law Carlton Dickerman.
Mrs. Baltz' memorial service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in The First Presbyterian Church of Brockport, 35 State St.

John Edward "Jack" French
John Edward "Jack" French died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at the age of 92.
He was born in Toronto, Ontario and moved to Brockport with his family in 1922. He was a 1933 graduate of Brockport High School. Mr. French worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years, and served as assistant postmaster in Brockport until be retired in 1973. He was a member of First Baptist Church and active in community affairs, having served in the WWII Civilian Protection Organization, and on the commission for the new senior citizens center. Mr. French loved cars and airplanes, was an amateur radio enthusiast, a member of the American Radio Relay League, operating both ham and CB radios. He was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood, where he earned a number of dedicated service awards, and served as the secretary of the local "Knights of Rest" for many years. Mr. French is remembered as hard-working, reliable, good-natured and a loyal friend, who will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
Mr. French is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Louise French of Newington Conn.; son-in-law, Don Fitzsimmons of Penn Yan, N.Y.; grandchildren, Abigail (Ben) Holt, Donette (Ralph) Loehr, Michael (Ann) Fitzsimmons; great-grandchildren, Adam Loehr, Kara Olson and Cody Fitzsimmons, Nathan Holt; great-great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Madelyn. He was predeceased in 2004 by his wife of 66 years, Lois; parents, John Clifford and Kate (Bailey) French; sister, Audrey; step-daughter, Wilma Fitzsimmons; cousin, Bob Jemmett.
Mr. French's memorial service was Tuesday, Nov. 7 at First Baptist Church.
Donations in his name may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Daniel J. Coyne Sr.
Daniel J. Coyne Sr. died Friday, Oct.20, 2006.
He was a retired lieutenant from the City of Rochester Fire Department, past president of IAFF Local 1071, and a veteran of WWII.
Mr. Coyne is survived by his wife, Carmela (Camelio) Coyne; children, Sharon Gillette, Daniel J. Jr. (Mazie) Coyne, Eileen (John) Iati; grandchildren, Elizabeth Gillette-Clarke (Jeffrey), Rebecca Gillette-Woodruff, Christopher Coyne; great-grandsons, Jesse and Joshua; brother, Robert Coyne; sisters, Monica (Ralph) Brower, June DeWelles; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Rose Camelio, Ann Camelio; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Coyne's funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Oct. 23, in Sacred Heart Cathedral. Entombment was in Riverside cemetery.

Rose Spinnichia Hine
Rose Spinnichia Hine died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at age 90.
She was a past Grand Matron of the Eastern Star Queen Louise Chapter 589 and a retired secretary for the chemistry department at the University of Rochester.
Mrs. Hine is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bert Hine; brother, Chiro (Audrey) Spinnichia; brother-in-law, John D'Amico; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Sam Mallo, Santa Russo, Bennie Spinnichia, Delma D'Amico and Josephine Bishop.
Mrs. Hine's funeral and interment were at the convenience of the family.
