She retired from Bethlehem Steel, Lackawanna. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. Her husband of 62 years, Edward J., died in 2001. Survivors: A son, Bernard J. of Lysander; two sisters, Mary Garbacz of Hamburg and Josephine Zelawski of Clarence; a brother, Walter Lelito of Lackawanna. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Church. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Jack W. Durell

Jack W. Durell, 78, of Furnace Street, Red Creek, died Friday. He was born in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a mechanic at Xerox Corp., Webster. He was a member of the Wolcott Elks Lodge and Red Creek/Westbury United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Red Creek American Legion and Red Creek Fire Department. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. A daughter, Diane Durell, died in 1969. Survivors: His wife of 55 years, the former Grace Ford; a daughter, Denise O'Connor of Canandaigua; a son, Dean of Savannah; a half-sister, Helen Landel of Florida; five grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Becker Funeral Home. Burial, Southside Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 6816 Church St., Red Creek. James J. Dwyer

James J. "Jimmy D" Dwyer, 71, of Leonard Street, Mattydale, died Thursday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from St. Anthony's High School. He retired in 1992 after eight years in the physical plant department of Syracuse University. He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center, East Syracuse, and Alcoholics Anonymous and a volunteer at Hospice of Central New York and Sunnyside Nursing Home, Collamer. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His wife of 32 years, the former Mary Ann Murray; five daughters, Karen Flaig of Camillus and Robin Irvine, Kimberly Williams, Patti Dwyer-VanFossen and Jessica Dwyer, all of Mattydale; a son, Christopher of Clay; nine grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Abundant Life Christian Center. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Sylvia E. Foederer

Sylvia E. King Foederer, 85, of Conifer Drive, Baldwinsville, died Wednesday. Born in Syracuse, she lived 36 years in Kirkville before moving to Baldwinsville in 1979. She retired in 1974 after 20 years as an inspector at General Electric Co. Her husband, Richard T., died in 1974; a son, Richard T., died in 1995. Survivors: Two daughters, Donna O'Donnell of Baldwinsville and Barbara Wilson of Nantucket, Mass.; a sister, Jessie McKinney of Jamesville; eight grandchildren. Services: Private. Winthrop M. Grady, 67, of 210 Marion Ave., Syracuse, died Thursday. Born in Newport, R.I., he attended Rhode Island schools. He worked in the security department at Onondaga Community College for five years. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His wife of 21 years, the former June Togni; four daughters, Andrea Grady and Sherri Grady, both of Syracuse, and Pamela Davis and Dr. Barbara Mitchell, both of Fayetteville, Ga.; a son, Cameron of Syracuse; two grandchildren. Beatrice Engle Wheeler Hogan, 103, formerly of 100 Rochester St., Fulton, died June 16 at Andrew Michaud Nursing Home, Fulton. She was born in Oswego. She worked 20 years at Sealright Co., Fulton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Elizabeth Chapter 105, Order of the Eastern Star, both in Fulton. Her husband, Paul, died in 1984; a daughter, Frances Mathews, died in 1994. Survivors: Six sons, Neil Wheeler of Michigan, Robert Wheeler of North Syracuse, Wayne Wheeler and Richard Wheeler, both of Fulton, Maylon Wheeler of Cypress,  Calif., and Charles Wheeler of Raleigh, N.C.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren. Richard H. "Dick" Rioux, 72, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Mattydale, died June 19. Born in Syracuse, he lived 30 years in Mattydale before moving to Zephyrhills nine years ago. He retired in 1983 after 20 years as a machinist at New Process Gear. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8154 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Zephyrhills. He was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3146 and American Legion Post 1832, both in Mattydale. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors: His wife of 27 years, Rosemary; a daughter, Sharon Wemmett of Clay; four sons, Richard M. of Clay, David of Copenhagen, and William and Gerald, both of Mattydale; three stepsons, Robert Barney of Chittenango and William Barney and James Barney, both of Zephyrhills; four brothers, Robert of North Syracuse, Jack of Mattydale, Donald of Syracuse and Francis of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; 13 grandchildren. Ashley L. Spear, 19, of 105 Honey Hill Road, Granby, died Friday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Clay. A life resident of the Fulton area, she graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School and received a health aide certificate from St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center's School of Nursing. She was a health aide at St. Joseph's and previously worked at the Kahunaville restaurant, Syracuse, and Sweet Inspirations Drive In, Fulton. Survivors: Her parents, Donald J. and Donna L. Spear of Granby; a sister, Connie J. Spear of Syracuse; two brothers, Donnie J. and Douglas W., both of Granby; her paternal grandparents, George and Charleen Gratton of Baldwinsville and Mary Spear-Gratton of Baldwinsville; her maternal grandfather, Kenneth  Woods of Cato; her paternal great-grandparents, Ervin and Stella Gratton of Westville. Born in Glen Cove, she graduated from Skaneateles High School and the State University College at Brockport. She was an interior designer. She was a member of the National Honor Society, a founding member of the Organization United for Recreation in Skaneateles and a volunteer with the John D. Barrow Art Gallery, Skaneateles. Spier of Abilene,  Texas; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Spier of New York City and Kathryn Miller of Norwalk, Conn.; her mother, Margaret Parmele of Skaneateles; two sisters, Alice P. Glasscock of Overland Park, Kan., and Janet P. Kent of Mottville; two brothers, Charles S. Parmele of Knoxville, Tenn., and Robert L. Parmele of Baldwinsville; a stepgrandchild.
