Albert E. Sparks
Albert E. Sparks, 71, of Stewart Road, Mayfield, died Tuesday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1930 in Gloversville, the son of the late Frank and Gertrude King Sparks. He was educated in Gloversville schools.
He was a career Air Force man serving 20 years and retired in 1967. He was a former Air Force recruiter in Gloversville and received the Bronze Star with oak leaf clusters. He was a technical sergeant. After the military service he worked in maintenance department of The Leader-Herald and Bremer Chevrolet. He retired in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Powers, whom he married
on May 2, 1992; a daughter, Norah Rieth of Mayfield; two sons, Tim Sparks of Gloversville and Steven Sparks of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Ada Rava of Gloversville; four stepchildren, Mary Carter, David Johnson, Michael Johnson and Donna Deere; two grandchildren, Sharisse and Brianna Sparks; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Bernard, William and Frank Sparks; and one sister, Marcella Wittman.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 147 Bleecker St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday. The Rev. James Deere will officiate. Burial will take place at Saratoga National cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y.
Robert B. Hunt
Mr. Robert B. Hunt, 67, of Hammerstone Village Apartments, Cobleskill, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, from injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident that day.
He was born on April 21, 1934 in Gloversville, the son of Tracy and Blanche Groves Hunt Sr.
Mr. Hunt is survived by one brother, Tracy Hunt Jr. of Amsterdam; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main St., Johnstown, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. R.W. Williams, Mountain Valley Hospice chaplain, will officiate. Spring burial will take place in West Galway cemetery. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
Margaret Mosetti
Mrs. Margaret Mosetti of Gloversville died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born on May 25, 1907 in Gloversville, the daughter of John B. and Jenny Gentile Javarone. She worked at MCA Records in the tape department, retiring several years ago.
Mrs. Mosetti was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Capano of Gloversville; two sons, John Mosetti of Gloversville and Victor Mosetti of Perth; two sisters, Nancy Cerasuolo and Lena Polenski, both of Gloversville; 11 grandchildren, Luann Marek, Michael, Mark and Matthew Capano, John Jr., Steven, Richard and Scott Mosetti, Vickie Bornt, Vanessa Russo and Scott Mosetti (grandson); 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was married
to Bruno Mosetti, who died in 1993. She also was predeceased by five brothers, Anthony, Frank, Joseph, Peter and Nicholas Javarone; and three sisters, Nellie De Rizzo, Susan Kreitlow, Mary Ackernecht and Ann Javarone.
Friends may call from 7 to 9:30 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Amico Funeral Home, 150 S. Main St., Gloversville. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed at 9:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church. Kenneth W. Bachman
Kenneth W. Bachman, 95, of Nokomis, Fla., died Jan. 2 at home.
He was born on March 26, 1906 in Oleona, Pa. He moved to Nokomis, Fla. in 1998 from Fort Plain, N.Y. after a lifetime living in the Mohawk Valley.
He was employed with Prudential Insurance Co. as an agent and staff manager for 35 years. He retired in 1966.
He was of the Presbyterian faith.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Hazel Weaver Bachman; daughter, Kay L. and husband, James A. Miller, of Venice, Fla.; brother, Robert C. Bachman of LaFargeville, N.Y.; grandchildren and spouses, Jim and Lisa Hare of Broadalbin, N.Y., Joanne and Dick Mucilli of Amsterdam, N.Y., Jill and Rich Timberlake, USAF of Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan; and seven great-grandchildren.

Roger Lee Cady
Roger Lee Cady, 44, of Cranes Hollow Road, Amsterdam, passed away suddenly Thursday morning at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1957 in Syracuse, a son of the late William and Myra Ensinger Cady. He moved to the Schenectady area as a young man and was a graduate of the Niskayuna High School Class of 1975. He attended SUNY Plattsburgh and Schenectady County Community College.
For the past 12 years, Roger was employed as a senior computer programmer for the New York State Assembly in Albany.
An avid outdoorsman, Roger loved to ski, hike and boat.
He married
the former Linda Rostowski on Oct. 22, 1983. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Rachel Lee and Rebecca Marie Cady who were his pride and joy; his two brothers, Arthur Cady of Somers, Conn. and Robert Cady of Ballston Spa; his mother and father-in-law, Leon and Rose Rostowski of Amsterdam; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam. It is requested that flowers be omitted and that contributions may be made to a college fund being established for his daughters in care of Linda Cady, c/o Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Katherine Shepard
Katherine "Ket" Shepard, 44, of 112 Division St., Northville, N.Y., died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital after being stricken at work.
She was born on March 31, 1957 in Furst En Feldbruch, Germany, the daughter of Robert and Jean Sweeney Thomas. She was a graduate of Andrews High School in Maryland.
She was employed by Noteworthy, Amsterdam, N.Y.
She is survived by her parents of Crossville, Tenn.; two sons, Michael and Thomas Shepard of Northville, N.Y.; one brother, Richard Thomas of North Augusta, S.C.; three sisters, Sharie Radzavich of Bradford, Pa., Barbara Thomas of Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Pat Jourdanais, Solomons, Md.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Northville Funeral Service Inc., 401 Bridge St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Northville. Delbert A. Petsch
Delbert A. Petsch, 68, 2610 Larch Drive, Wooster, Ohio, died Monday morning, Jan. 7, at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born on May 28, 1933 in Brocton, N.Y., the son of Herbert and Vera Deuink Petsch. He was a graduate of Alfred Technical College in Alfred, N.Y.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He has made his home in the Wooster area for the past 26 years, where he was a building contractor.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Wooster.
Survivors: His wife, Pat Fellows Petsch, whom he married
in 1955; children and spouses, Sarah and Scott Myers of Wooster, Julie and Jeff Wagner of Gahanna, Ohio and Thomas and Barbara Petsch of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren, Rachel and Tom Myers; sisters, Mary Jane Holcomb of Cassadaga, N.Y. and Kay Miller of Rochester, N.Y.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and following the memorial service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Episcopal Church. The Rev. Evelyn Manzella will officiate.
