Native of Phoenix
PHOENIX - Edith J. Merrill, 82, of 21 Culvert St., Phoenix, died Nov. 21, 1998, at her home.
A native of Phoenix, she attended Phoenix High School. She was employed as a cook at Elm Street Elementary School, Phoenix. She was a waitress at Beaver Meadows in Phoenix and operated a snack bar at the Bowl Inn in Phoenix.
An avid bingo player, she was also a charter member of the Beaver Meadows Golf and Recreation Association.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis H., in 1995; and a son, George, this year.
Surviving are five daughters, Patricia Hauff of Syracuse, Jeannette McCarroll of Mallory, Joan Dunham of Phoenix, Sherrie Urtz of Verona and Bonnie Czirr of Pennellville; two sons, Ronald of Danville, Pa., and Michael of Owensboro, Ky.; 36 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, has charge of arrangements.

Joseph F. Gricewich
Worked as master plumber
PARISH - Joseph F. Gricewich, 79, of Carr Drive, Parish, died Nov. 20, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
A native of Walden, he lived in Syracuse before moving to Parish 30 years ago. He was self-employed as a master plumber and also worked for Conway Plumbing & Heating in Syracuse.
He attended St. Ann's Church, Parish, and was a member and past commander of the Parish-Hastings Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Central Square American Legion Post #915.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, in 1992.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Geraldine Slater of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a son, Joseph Reideger of Portland, Ore.; a stepson, Donald Osier of Syracuse; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harter Funeral Home, Parish, has charge of arrangements.

Jordan T. Moody
Infant girl died Saturday
BALDWINSVILLE - Jordan Taylor Moody, an infant, of 8597 Oswego Road, Baldwinsville, died Nov. 21, 1998, at Crouse Hospital.
She is survived by her parents, Robert D. and Michelle Page; her maternal grandparents, James and Debbie Reynolds of Jordan; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Barbara Moody of Oswego; her maternal great-grandparents, James and Lois Reynolds of Baldwinsville and John and Rose Crim of Jordan; and her paternal great-grandmother, Pauline Gilmore of Oswego.
Bush Funeral Home, Jordan, has charge of arrangements.

Sam Azzarelli
Died today in Syracuse
OSWEGO - Sam Azzarelli, 61, died Nov. 23, 1998, at Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Inc., 112 E. Second St., Oswego.

Kathleen T. McDonough
A native of Oswego
CLEAR LAKE CITY, Texas - Kathleen Theresa McDonough, 53, of Clear Lake City, Texas, died Dec. 24, 1997, in Webster, Texas.
She was born March 18, 1944, in Oswego, to John R. and Helen (O'Neill) Barry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael John McDonough; an infant son, Joseph Patrick; brothers, Gerald and Joseph Barry; and a sister, Nancy (Barry) Piazza.
She is survived by her sons, Michael John McDonough III of League City, Texas, and John McDonough of Clear Lake City, Texas; daughters, Maureen McDonough of Clear Lake City, Texas, and Mary Moon of Webster, Texas; brothers, John Barry of Saco, Maine, Kevin Barry of Oswego, William Barry of Providence, R.I., and Dennis Barry of Liverpool; and sisters, Evelyn Hutcheson and Mary Bellardini, both of Oswego, and Linda Hayes of Minnesota.
A memorial mass was held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, Texas.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Oswego.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, TX 77257 or St. Mary's Catholic Church Fund, West Seventh Street, Oswego, NY 13126.
The Jack Rowe Funeral Home, 1625 E. Main St., League City, Texas 77573 has charge of arrangements.

Frances A. Mason
Worked as a registered nurse
AUTRYVILLE, N.C. - Frances Adella Mason, 73, of 181 Hunterview Drive, Autryville, N.C., died Dec. 29, 1997, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Mason was a registered nurse at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was a Volunteer Pink Laday at Cape Fear Valey Medical Center and also a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Horne of Stedman, N.C.; two sons, Robert Mason of Lexington, Ky., and Michael Mason of Las Cruces, N.M. and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Main Post Cemetery, Fort Bragg, N.C. The Rev. John Durbin will conduct the service.
Calling hours will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. today at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, Fayetteville, N.C.

Edith Milo
Taught 52 years in New York
CARSON CITY, Nev. - Edith Milo, 99, died Dec. 29, 1997, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, Nev.
Born in Oswego June 12, 1898, she was the daughter of John E. and Lean (Williams) Milo.
She had resided in New York state prior to moving to Carson City in 1977. She had taught for 52 years in New York state schools, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of the Lottie Scott Circle at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City; the Carson City Retired Teachers Association; the John C. Fremont Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Nu Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma; the Retired Teachers of Northern Westchester County in New York State; and the New York State Retired Teacher's Association.
She is survived by many friends in Carson City and New York state.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 6 at the First Presbyterian Church, Carson City. The Rev. Bruce Kochsmeier will preside.
Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Building Fund, 110 N. Nevada St., Carson City, NV 89703.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City, has charge of arrangements.

Truman J. Kesel
Navy veteran of World War II
WILLIAMSTOWN - Truman J. Kesel, 75, a resident of 1347 County Route 26, died Dec. 30, 1997, at home.
Born in Syracuse, Mr. Kesel also resided in North Syracuse prior to moving to Amboy 27 years ago.
He was employed as a bricklayer and was a member of Local #26, Bricklayers Union. He was also a guide for Whale River Outfitters of Ungava, Quebec, Canada.
Mr. Kesel was United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Russell Horning Post #609, American Legion, Parish; and an honorary member of the West Amboy Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lillian Cook; a son, Michael of Topeka, Kan.; a stepson, William Purdy of Cicero; a stepdaughter, Sharon Flanigan of Mattydale; a brother, George of Cicero; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Harter Funeral Home, Parish, has charge of arrangements.

David J. Richardson
Longtime Pulaski resident
PULASKI - David J. Richardson, 54, a resident of 24 High St., Pulaski, died Dec. 29, 1997, at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center.
Born in Syracuse, he resided n Pulaski most of his life. A graduate of Pulaski Academy High School, Class of 1961, he served from 1961-67 in the United States Navy.
He was employed since 1969 as an electrician at the nuclear power plants in Scriba and at the Oswego Steam Station. He was previously employed at the Pulaski Bowling Center and at Hancock Air Force Base. He was a partner in Ric-Sac Co., Pulaski.
Mr. Richardson was a member and treasurer of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #328 of Oswego; and was treasurer of IBEW Oswego-Syracuse Local #43, which he belonged to for 28 years.
He was a member of the Elms Golf Club; the Pulaski Masonic Lodge; the Robert Edward American Legion Post #358, Pulaski; and the Pulaski Fraternal Bowling League.
Mr. Richardson attended the Pulaski Baptist Church and was a former Pulaski village trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara N.; a son, Bradley D. of Pulaski; a daughter, Laura Richardson of Pulaski; his mother, Marjorie I. Richardson of Pulaski; a brother, Dickie L. of Mexico; a sister, Joanne Fallon of Syracuse; a grandson; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m Friday in Pulaski Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Varnum will officiate.
Spring burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St., Pulaski.
Contributions may be made to the Oswego County Unit of the American Cancer Society.

Lester W. Robinson Sr.
Fulton native, Florida resident
DAYTONA, Fla. - Former Fulton resident Lester W. Robinson Sr., 74, died Oct. 29, 1996, at the Indigo Manor Extended Care Facility in Daytona, Fla.
A native of Fulton, Mr. Robinson had been living in Daytona Beach, Fla., at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, Goldie of Daytona Beach; two sons, Lester and Douglas, both of Fulton; a daughter, Carol Aluzzi of Fulton; and several grandchildren.

Adam J. Janas
Club steward at Fulton Polish Home
FULTON - Adam J. Janas, 80, a resident of 415 W. Broadway St., Fulton, died unexpectedly Nov. 8, 1996, at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Auburn, he was a son of the late Joseph and Caroline (Klos) Janas, and had resided in Fulton for most of his life. He attended St. Hyacinth's School in Auburn, and was a graduate of Fulton High School.
He had been employed with McDonald's Wallpaper and Paint Store, and later worked at the Fulton Polish Home as club steward for more than 25 years.
During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Janas was a member and former president of St. Michael's Club, the Fulton Polish Home, and also the Polish Legion of American Veterans. He was a long-time trustee of St. Michael's Church and was the financial secretary of the Polish National Alliance.
He was also a member of the Fulton Veterans Council and was honored as its Veteran of the Year in 1983.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Albina Warnel; a daughter and her husband, Carolyn and John Dowdle of Oswego; a son and his wife, Stephen and Wende Janas of Fulton; a sister, Rose White of Auburn; a brother, Frank Janas of Fleming; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Adrian, Alexis, and Alysse Dowdle of Oswego, and Adam, Elisha and Benjamin Janas of Fulton; and several nieces and nep hews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Church, Fulton.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Dowdle Funeral Home, 154 E. Fourth St., Oswego.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Orchard Lake Seminary, c/o St. Michael's Church.

Sophie J. Wisniewski
Former technician at Gruman Aerospace
MASSENA - Sophie J. Wisniewski, 84, of 156 Liberty Ave., Massena, died Nov. 7, 1996, at St. Regis Nursing Home.
A homemaker, Mrs. Wisniewski was the daughter of Gregory and Mary (Miskiewicz) Lasek.
She was married to Leo Wisniewski on July 30, 1941, at St. Anthony's Church in Jersey City, N.J. Following Mr. Wisnieski's retirement as a technician at Gruman Aerospace in Long Island, they moved to Massena in 1982. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Helen Boudreau of Massena; Mrs. Don (Irene) Molinari of Oswego, and Barbara Muller of Madison, Wis.; a brother, Henry Lasek of East Rutherford, N.J.; one sister, Anna Yablonski of Bayport, Long Island; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1995.
Funeral services were held today at St. Mary's Church, Massena, with the Rev. Alan D. Shnob officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Sanctuary Fund.
