Terry Jones
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Terry Lee Jones, who was employed at Regent College in Albany as a student counselor, died Friday at St. Clare's Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Jones, of Rankin Avenue, was 42.
Mrs. Jones was born in Tarrytown and was a graduate of Ossining High School and the American International College in Springfield, Mass. She moved to Schenectady in 1996.
Her husband, Kurby Jones, died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Jason McKreith of Schenectady; a daughter, Michel McKreith of Schenectady; her parents, Elmer and Carolyn Jones of Ossining; and a sister, Alicia Jones of Westport, Conn.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.

Todd M. LaClair
AVERILL PARK - Todd M. LaClair, who had been a pipe fitter for Lydall Manning in Green Island for the last 13 years, died Sunday in Old Forge from injuries received in a snowmobile accident. Mr. LaClair, of Meadow Road, was 39.
Mr. LaClair was born in Malone. He lived in Churubusco for four years and resided most of his life in Averill Park. He was educated at Averill Park High School and the Modern School of Welding in Schenectady.
While in high school, Mr. LaClair was a member of the wrestling team.
Survivors include his parents, Christina Miller Groves of Waterford and Richard P. LaClair of Wynantskill; two sons, Branden Michael LaClair and Bradley Todd LaClair, both of Averill Park; a stepson, William Mahar of Averill Park; a sister, Penny Malone of Schodack; two stepbrothers, Robert Scott Groves of Nassau and Darren W. Groves of Averill Park; and his fiance, Brenda J. Mahar.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Church.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bryce Funeral Home, Pawling and Maple avenues, Troy. Burial will be in St. Henry's Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in Mr. LaClair's memory to the Averill Park Wrestling Club in care of the Bryce Funeral Home, 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy.

Paul R. Horth, 79, veteran, served with Gen. Stilwell
CHURCHVILLE - Paul R. Horth, who was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with Gen. Stilwell's Burma Bridge Brigade, died Wednesday at the home of his daughter in Clifton Park. Mr. Horth, of Churchville, was 79.
Born in Oneonta, Mr. Horth attended Oneonta High School.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Churchville.
Mr. Horth was a bulldozer operator for the D&H Railroad. He was a bus driver and custodian for the Sidney Central School System for 15 years and later worked in the maintenance department at Security Trust Bank in Spencerport and also at Terrell's Remodeling in Churchville.
His wife, Sarah Wright Horth, whom he married Nov. 15, 1947, died in 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail H. Ziegler of Clifton Park; four sisters, Ione Sprague of Clifton, N.J., Josephine Parsons of Oneonta, Kathereen Toth of Mt. Vision, and Bertha Redmond of East Guilford; and two brothers, Jesse Horth of Oneonta and Willis Horth of Laurens.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the C.H. Landers Funeral Home, Main Street, Sidney.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ballston Lake Volunteer Ambulance Service, 1123 Route 146A, Ballston Lake, NY 12019; or to the Jonesville Volunteer Fire Company, 953 Main St., Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Dr. John L. Shields, former assistant medical examiner
NISKAYUNA - Dr. John L. Shields, who was the assistant medical examiner for Schenectady County for many years, died Sunday at home after a short illness. Dr. Shields, of Godfrey Lane, was 77.
Born in Cohoes, Dr. Shields lived in Niskayuna since 1960. He was a graduate of CBA, Siena College and later Albany Medical College in 1951.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was wounded in Europe and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Dr. Shields was a physician at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory during the 1950s and 1960s. He was the head of nuclear medicine at St. Clare's Hospital before retiring in 1990. He was in private practice with Dr. Richard Lang and had his own private practice in Schenectady, retiring in the late 1980s.
He was a member of the Medical Society of Schenectady County and the Mohawk Golf Club.
Dr. Shields was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
His wife of 50 years, Alice McCaffrey Shields, died in January of this year.
Survivors include two sons, John L. Shields Jr. of Munster, Ind., and Brian T. Shields of Schenectady; a daughter, Christina A. Ward of Alpharetta, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
The services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., Schenectady, and at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.

Ralph J. Lippitt, 81, veteran, received two Purple Hearts
WATERVLIET - Ralph J. Lippitt, who was an Army veteran of World War II and the recipient of two Purple Hearts, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital after being stricken at home. Mr. Lippitt, of Fifth Avenue, was 81.
Mr. Lippitt was born and raised in Albany.
Mr. Lippitt worked for the Delaware & Hudson Railway for more than 25 years and later for the town of Coeymans Highway Department before retiring due to a disability.
He was a member of the Watervliet and Ravena-Coeymans Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His wife, Pauline DeCrescenzo Lippitt, died in 1997.
Survivors include three sons, Keith P. Lippitt of Clinton, Conn., Kevin J. and Gary P. Lippitt, both of Albany; three daughters, Gail A. Arrington of Barto, Pa., Denise Suriano of Troy and Lynn Kuhen of Temple, Texas; two brothers, Edward Lippitt of Dayton, Ohio, and William Lippitt of Bedford, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, and at 9 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Mary Church.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Marie J. Shook
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Mrs. Marie J. Shook, 90, of Saratoga Springs, died on Friday.
Born in Fruit Ridge, Mich., Mrs. Shook was a 1929 graduate of Adrian High School. She also graduated from the Ft. Wayne Beauty College. She lived in Minnesota, Illinois, California, Oklahoma and Texas before settling in Adrian, Mich. Mrs. Shook was a beautician until her marriage.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Adrian and served in various church offices and its service organizations.
Mrs. Shook and her husband were the founders of Adrian Insulators which they operated until retiring in 1965. She moved to Sun City Center, Fla. in 1983 and relocated to Saratoga Springs in 1995 to be near her son.
She was a member of the Airstream Wally Byam Travel Club.
Her husband, John Shook, died in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Dale Shook of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Adrian in the spring.

Angeline Schewe
EAST GREENBUSH - Mrs. Angeline Milianese Schewe, who was a line package worker for the Sterling Winthrop Co. for more than 20 years, died Sunday at Resurrection Rest Home, Castleton, after a short illness. Mrs. Schewe, of Miller Road, was 87.
Born in the Bronx, Mrs. Schewe lived most of her life in the Capital Region.
She retired from Sterling Winthrop in 1979.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond F. Schewe; two daughters, Natalie F. Moore of Nassau and Dolores S. Doonan of East Greenbush; three sisters, Nellie Langanbach of East Greenbush, Florence Scaccia of Nassau and Anna Pastore of Watervliet; a brother, Arthur Milianese of East Greenbush; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, and at 9:30 a.m. the Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Spirit, East Greenbush.
Calling hours will be from 4 this afternoon until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be at a later date.

Anna Bichler Betzler
GLENVILLE - Mrs. Anna Bichler Betzler, 76, of Maybrook Drive, died Saturday at home after a long illness.
Mrs. Betzler was born in Nuremberg, Germany. She came to this country in 1952 and lived in New York City, where she was a secretary for a yarn manufacturing company . She moved to Glenville in 1958.
Mrs. Betzler owned the Glenville Knitting Knook, a yarn shop on Saratoga Road, retiring several years ago.
She was a member of the Schenectady Turn-Verein.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Betzler, whom she married Dec. 6, 1958; two brothers, Ludwig Bichler and Rudolf Bichler, both of Nuremberg; and three sisters, Paulene Schlapp, Marie Weiss and Eliese Kurz, all of Nuremberg.
A service is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, East Glenville. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Barbro Jervis
SCHOHARIE - A private service will be held for Mrs. Barbro E. Jervis, 86, of Route 443, who died Saturday at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, Albany.
Mrs. Jervis was born in Stockholm, Sweden.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jervis was the widow of John Jervis.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Pruitt of Schoharie; a son, John Jervis of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation took place at Cremation Funeral Service, Delmar.

Bertha Earing
CANAJOHARIE - Mrs. Bertha M. Earing, 93, of Cliff Street, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a short illness.
Born in Morrisonville, Mrs. Earing was educated at the former Morrisonville Country School in Clinton County. She resided in Plattsburgh before moving to Canajoharie in 1943.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Earing was a member of St. Peter and St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Court Catherine Esther 1264.
Her husband, Carl C. Earing Sr., whom she married June 15, 1925, died in 1975. Her son, Carl C. Earing Jr., died last year.
Survivors include five daughters, Bernice Susi, Norma Fiacchi and Esther Nurnberger, all of Canajoharie, Iona Vaccaro of Wappinger Falls and Mickey Russo of Concord, N.H.; a son, James F. Earing of Earlville; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
The services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home chapel, 20 Otsego St., and at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter and St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Cliff Street.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 this afternoon and 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Spring burial will be in St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery.
