Anna Neuman, 93, former area master bridge player
SCHENECTADY - Services were held for Mrs. Anna Neuman, 93, of Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Chrisler Avenue, who died on Nov. 27.
Born in what is now the Czech Republic, Mrs. Neuman came to the United States in 1939 and to Schenectady in 1940. She was a longtime Schenectady resident.
Mrs. Neuman played bridge in Schenectady and had attained the rank of life master in bridge.
Her husband, Dr. Kamil Neuman, died in 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Vera Vida, a former Gazette reporter, of Cohasset, Mass., and Jarmila "Jerry" Held of Arlington, Va.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Eternal Light Cemetery in Boynton Beach, Fla.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were by the Joseph Rubin Memorial Chapel, Delray Beach, Fla.

Walter Ruth Jr.
BROADALBIN - Walter H. Ruth Jr., 64, of Union Street, died Wednesday at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mr. Ruth was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Milne School in Albany and Siena College.
Mr. Ruth served in the Air Force.
He worked at the General Mail Facility of the Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Siegenthaler-Ruth; his mother, Jennie I. Ruth of Highland Beach, Fla.; two sons, Michael and Matthew Ruth, both of Schenectady; a brother, Earl Ruth of Highland Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Yvonne Benzinger of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Darlene Courtemanche of Merritt Island, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.

Walter Herold
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Walter Herold, 67, of North Broadway, died Wednesday at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in Staten Island, Mr. Herold lived there for many years. He was a graduate of Port Richmond High School.
He was a draftsman for Perey Turnstiles in Manhattan for 20 years.
Mr. Herold was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gansevoort.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Joyce Kowell Herold; and a sister, Gloria Schmidt of Pennsylvania.
The service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Route 50 and Edie Road, Gansevoort.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Staten Island at a later date.

Thomas Iacono
AMSTERDAM - Thomas C. "Pally" Iacono, who was a combat veteran of World War II, died Tuesday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. Mr. Iacono, of Wall Street, was 80.
During World War II, Mr. Iacono served with the 161st Infantry Brigade in the Pacific. He participated in the Guadalcanal and New Georgia campaigns and was awarded two battle stars.
Mr. Iacono was born and educated in Amsterdam.
He was the owner of the former Leo's Cleaners.
Mr. Iacono was the bar manager at the former Topaz Restaurant for many years.
Mr. Iacono was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church.
He was an honorary lifetime member of Russo's Grill Night League.
His wife, Catherine Vollmer Iacono, whom he married Jan. 23, 1972, died last year.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Riley Mortuary, 110 Division St.
Burial, with full military honors, will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.

Susie Ann Price
NISKAYUNA - Mrs. Susie Ann Price, who was a housekeeper for Ellis Hospital, died Tuesday at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady after a long illness. Mrs. Price, of Hillside Avenue, 64.
Born in Danville, Va., Mrs. Price had lived in the Schenectady area since 1964.
She worked at Ellis Hospital for 23 years, until the onset of her illness.
Mrs. Price was a Pentecostal and a longtime member of New Bethel Community Church of God in Christ in Schenectady. She was also a church mother for 12 years.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Charles E. Price; four sons, Odell, Leon, James and Venson Price, all of Schenectady; a brother, George Harston of Danville, Va.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at noon Saturday at New Bethel Community Church of God in Christ, 839 Albany St., Schenectady.
A calling hour will precede the service at the church.
Burial will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady.
Contributions may be made to the church building fund.
Arrangements are by Light's Funeral Home, Schenectady.

Ruth Waldron
SCOTIA - Private services will be held for Mrs. Ruth E. Waldron, 72, of St. Stephens Lane West, who died Wednesday at Ellis Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Waldron moved to the Schenectady area as a young child and was a graduate of local schools.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Waldron was a member of American Legion Post 21 Women's Auxiliary and the Sun City Center Bowling Club, Sun City Center, Fla.
She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Glenville.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Waldron; two daughters, Catherine Beyer of Griswold, Conn., and Nancy Waldron of Scotia; two sons, Craig Waldron of Afton, Chenango County, and Paul Waldron of Nassau; a brother, Frank Wheeler of Mercerville, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at Park View Crematory, Schenectady.
A memorial service at a later date in Sun City Center, Fla., will be announced by Light's Funeral Home, Schenectady.

Rose Cohen
EAST GREENBUSH - Mrs. Rose Chirlin Cohen, 88, of Rosewood Gardens, died Tuesday at the home.
Born in Rensselaer, Mrs. Cohen was a lifelong Capital Region resident.
She was a member of Congregation Ohav Sholom in Albany and was a former president of its Sisterhood. She was a former member of the board of directors of the Ohav Sholom Senior Apartments in Albany. She was also known as the "Temple Bubbe" at Congregation Ohav Sholom.
Mrs. Cohen was a member of the Senior Adult Group at the Albany Jewish Community Center. She was a member of the Independent Benevolent Society in Albany.
Her husband, Harry Cohen, died in 1975.
Survivors include a son, Donald Cohen of Guilderland; a daughter, Beverly Benno of Albany; a sister, Paula Mishkin of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The service will be held at 12:30 this afternoon at Congregation Ohav Sholom, New Krumkill Road, Albany.
The period of mourning will be observed at the residence of Beverly Benno, 450 W. Lawrence St., Albany.
Burial will be in the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, Guilderland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund at Congregation Ohav Sholom, New Krumkill Road, Albany, NY 12208.
Arrangements are by the Levine Memorial Chapel, Albany.

Mary Miller
COLONIE - Mrs. Mary V. Miller, who was an editorial assistant for 10 years at Delmar Publishers, retiring in 1987, died Wednesday at St. Peter's Hospital after being stricken. Mrs. Miller, of Benjamin Lane, was 79.
Born in Amsterdam, Mrs. Miller was a 1940 graduate of Amsterdam High School. She moved to Colonie in 1964.
Mrs. Miller worked for the General Electric Co. before raising her family.
She was an office volunteer and a communicant of St. Clare's Church.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the H.B. Kuhn Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John W. Miller; two daughters, Mary Beth Lee of Fayetteville, N.C., and Terri Indyk of LaGrange; two sons, John J. Miller of Niskayuna and Christopher Miller of Corning; a brother, Richard Agard of Amsterdam; two sisters, Veronica Mack of Corona, Calif., and Clare Felker of Kingston; and 10 grandchildren.
The services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clare's Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
