Nancy Schriver
GLENVILLE - Mrs. Nancy Gore Schriver, 45, of Saratoga Road, died Friday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a long illness.
Born in Tupper Lake, Mrs. Schriver lived most of her life in this area.

She worked for the Aetna Life Insurance Co. as a customer service representative for three years until becoming ill.

Survivors include her husband, David I. Schriver, whom she married in July; two daughters, Wendy Salisbury of Reno, Nev., and Neva Gore of Glenville; three sisters, Susan Frank of Scotia, Roxanne Arnold of Reno and Dale Young of Schenectady; two brothers, Dick Arnold of Tupper Lake and Michael McMillan of California; and three grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Marantha Ministries United Pentecostal Church, St. David's Lane and Route 7 in Niskayuna.

There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady.

Contributions may be made to Locks of Love, 1640 S. Congress Ave., Suite 104, Palm Springs, FL 33461, in memory of Mrs. Schriver.

Arrangements are by the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady.

Andreas Hoelzli, longtime owner of painting business
GUILDERLAND - Andreas Hoelzli, who owned and operated Hoelzli and Schlensker Painting for more than 30 years, died Sunday at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Hoelzli, of Gary Lane, was 71.
Born in Ardud, Romania, Mr. Hoelzli came to the United States in 1952 and had lived in the Schenectady area since 1959.

He graduated from trade school in Germany.

Mr. Hoelzli was an Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1955.

Mr. Hoelzli was a member of the Schenectady Turnverein Society and the Hungarian Benevolent Society. He was a former member of the Beukendaal Lodge of the Mason.

He was a member of St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Schenectady.

Survivors include his wife, Kira Ammon Hoelzli, whom he married May 14, 1955; two daughters, Rosemarie Klapp of Guilderland and Heidi Beliveau of Schenectady; four sons, Andrew, Fred and Hans Hoelzli, all of Schenectady, and Herb Hoelzli of Guilderland; two brothers, Stefan Hoelzli of Germany and Mathias Hoelzli of Beach Lake, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Lochli of New Jersey and Agnes Lingenhol of Woodside; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Bond Funeral Home, at Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, followed at 10 at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Schenectady Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

John Henry Cooper Jr., 89, electrical engineer for GE
LUBBOCK, Texas - Services were held for John Henry Cooper Jr., 89, of Lubbock, who died Nov. 19 at home.
Born in Oakhurst, N.J., Mr. Cooper was raised in Tivoli, N.Y. He was a 1930 graduate of Tivoli High School and earned a degree in electrical engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1934.

From 1935 to 1942, Mr. Cooper worked in public utility engineering with Central Hudson Gas and Electric in Poughkeepsie. After serving as an electrical procurement specialist with the War Production Board in Washington for a year, Mr. Cooper enter the Navy in 1943. He served until 1946, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander. His military assignments included duty as a minesweeper commanding officer and division commander in New York City. He attended radar school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was an electronics officer aboard the attack transport USS San Saba in the Pacific.

Mr. Cooper joined the General Electric Company's Aeronautics and Ordnance Systems Department in Schenectady in 1946. He transferred to GE's Heavy Military Electronics Division in Syracuse in 1958. Mr. Cooper retired in 1977 as a program manager for the Air Force Spacetrack radar sites, where he oversaw contracts and operations for installations in the Aleutian Islands, Turkey, Greenland and Colorado Springs.

He was a volunteer with the American Association of Retired Persons Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program.

Mr. Cooper moved to Lubbock in 1997.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Alice Turk Cooper; two daughters, Roberta Cooper of Bearsville, N.Y., and Linda Cooper Dragga of Lubbock; a brother, George Cooper of Connecticut; and four grandchildren.

Burial was in Viewmonte Cemetery, Germantown.

Arrangements were by the Lasher Funeral Home, Woodstock, N.Y.

Horace Edward Peeling, teacher in Scotia schools
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. - Horace Edward Peeling, who was a teacher for 29 years at Scotia Junior High School and at Scotia Senior High School for 11 years, died Oct. 30 at Boston Commons. Mr. Peeling, of South Boston, was 94.
Born in York County, Pa., Mr. Peeling was a college graduate.

He was a GED instructor at Correctional Camp 23 in South Boston.

Mr. Peeling was a member of the First Baptist Church of South Boston.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth C. Peeling; a daughter, Lola Ann Amcher of Greer, S.C.; a son, John H. Peeling of New Canaan, Conn.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Sharon, Pa.

Arrangements are by the Powell Funeral Home.

Ralph O'Brien
TROY - Ralph O'Brien, who was an Army veteran of World War II, died Sunday at home after being stricken. Mr. O'Brien, of Sixth Avenue, formerly of Third Street, was 81.
Mr. O'Brien was born and educated in Troy.

Mr. O'Brien retired as a watchman from Rensselaer County. Previously, he worked in the maintenance department at the Troy Public Library.

Survivors include two brothers, Thomas O'Brien of Colonie and Jack O'Brien of Syracuse.

The services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 115th Street and Fourth Avenue, Lansingburgh.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Richard H. Hoyt
SCHENECTADY - Richard H. Hoyt, who was a truck driver for Hyde's RV & Boats in Rexford for 13 years, died Sunday at the home after a long illness. Mr. Hoyt, of the Hallmark Nursing Centre, formerly of Nelliston, was 78.
Born in the town of Root, Mr. Hoyt was educated in Fort Plain schools. He lived in Rexford before moving to Schenectady in 1995.

He retired from Hyde's RV & Boats in 1987. Previously, he worked at the former Hawkins Auto Sales in Nelliston. He also drilled wells for Harvey Hoyt & Son in Nelliston for eight years.

Mr. Hoyt served in the Army. Mr. Hoyt was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Earl Stock Memorial Post 3275 of Fort Plain.

He was a Protestant.

Survivors include two nephews, David and Arnold Hyde, both of Rexford.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain. A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Earl Stock Memorial Post 3275, 30 River St., Fort Plain, NY 13339.

Margaret Luke
CLIFTON PARK - Mrs. Margaret Ackley Luke, 76, of Moe Road, died Monday at home after being stricken.
Born in Greenwich, Mrs. Luke moved to Clifton Park in 1964.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Luke was a member of Mohawk Valley Grange and a former member of the Vischer Ferry Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of her local Ladies Home Bureau.

She was a member of Amity Reformed Church, Vischer Ferry.

Her husband, John E. Luke, died in 1996.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Marjorie Becker of Clifton Park; a stepson, Arthur Luke of Clifton Park; three sisters, Helen Donbeck of Fort Edward, Delia McKernon and Jennie Karp, both of Greenwich; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Amity Reformed Church, Vischer Ferry. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9.

Burial will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Amity Reformed Church, 335 Riverview Road, Rexford, NY 12148.

Mildred Buckley
AVERILL PARK - Mrs. Mildred Miller Buckley, who was a file clerk for the medical records department at Samaritan Hospital, died Sunday at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a short illness. Mrs. Buckley, of Thais Road, was 68.
Born in Averill Park, Mrs. Buckley was raised in Poestenkill and was a longtime Averill Park resident. She was a graduate of Averill Park High School.

Mrs. Buckley worked at Samaritan Hospital for eight years, retiring in 1999. Previously, she had been a pharmacist's assistant at the Lake Pharmacy in West Sand Lake and worked at John L. Thompson in Troy many years ago.

She was a member of the Sand Lake Senior Citizens and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Mrs. Buckley was a communicant of St. Henry's Church and a member of its Altar Rosary Society.

She was the widow of Martin J. Buckley Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Maloney of Wynantskill and Kathleen Buckley of Albany; a son, Michael J. Buckley of Guilderland; a brother, Lawrence Miller of Poestenkill; a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Sitka, Alaska; and five grandchildren.

The service will be held at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at Bryce Funeral Home, Pawling at Maple avenues, Troy, and at 9:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Henry's Church.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Henry's Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Eddy Cohoes Rehabilitation Center, 421 West Columbia St., Cohoes, NY 12047.

Frank L. Bednarczyk
COLONIE - Frank L. Bednarczyk, who was a carpenter for Frank L. Bednarczyk & Son for many years, retiring in 1995, died Monday at the home. Mr. Bednarczyk, of the Albany County Nursing Home, formerly of Taylor Street in Schenectady, was 85.
Born and raised in Marion Heights, Pa., Mr. Bednarczyk moved to Schenectady in 1946.

He worked in a munitions factory in Philadelphia during World War II.

Mr. Bednarczyk was a communicant of St. Paul's Church.

His wife, Florence Stabinski Bednarczyk, died in 1987.

Survivors include a son, Paul J. Bednarczyk of Rotterdam; two sisters, Anne Fallet of Schenectady and Rosemary Foshag of Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

The services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, and at 9 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Kings Road at Albany Street. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206 or to charity.
