Survivors: His parents, Bruce E. and Cheryl Burt of Liverpool; a sister, Monica Hayes of Atlanta; a brother, Joshua of Liverpool; his paternal grandfather, Bernard E. Burt of Liverpool; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Frances Geremski of Liverpool. Services: 8:45 a.m. Thursday at Pirro & Sons Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Stephen J. Carbacio

Stephen J. Carbacio, 79, of DeWitt died Monday. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from North High School and received an associate's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He retired in 1979 as a supervisor at Prestolite after 37 years. He was a former member of the Lions Club and a former union leader at UAW-CIO. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, the former Shirley A. Matteson; a daughter, Marsha Phillips-McKittrick of DeWitt; a son, Mark V. of DeWitt; four sisters, Mary Casella of Oneida, Rose DiFasi and Elena Carbacio, both of Syracuse, and Antonette Deyneka of Auburn; two brothers, Sam Carbacio of East Syracuse and Cisimo Corbacio of Syracuse; three grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Burial,  White Chapel Memory Gardens. Calling hours, 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse.

Doris Leona Ginsburg Cohen, 74, of 500 W. Genesee St., Chittenango, died Tuesday. She was born in Oswego. She was a library clerk at Manlius Library for 20 years and had also been head clerk. Survivors: Her husband of 55 years, Stanley D.; two daughters, Ronda Hegeman of Albany and Laura  Schmidtka of North Chittenango; two sons, Irving of Alpharetta, Ga., and William of Ocean Grove, N.J.; a sister, Frances Kaplan of Syracuse; two brothers, Seymour Ginsburg of Delray Beach, Fla., and Joseph Ginsburg of Corona,  Calif.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Robert O. Dorfer Sr

Robert O. Dorfer Sr., 55, of Grand Island died Monday. Born in Syracuse, he lived there until moving to Grand Island eight years ago. He worked at the General Motors powertrain engine plant in Tonawanda and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. His mother, Bernadette Guyette Dorfer, died previously. Survivors: His wife, the former Peggy A. Lauducci; a daughter, Kristen Brawn of North Tonawanda; a son, Robert O. Jr. of Grand Island; his father and stepmother, William J. and Michelene Dorfer of Liverpool; four brothers, William Jr. of Connecticut, Donald of LaFayette, Bernard of Camillus and Christopher of Syracuse; a stepbrother, Michael Hajjar of Mattydale; two grandchildren. Bruce T. Flynn

Bruce Thomas Flynn, 47, of Napa,  Calif., died June 24 of cancer. Born in Rochester, he graduated from C.W. Baker High School and lived in Baldwinsville until 1975. He retired in 1995 from the Air Force after 20 years and was a physiological training instructor and loadmaster on a C-141 cargo plane. He was a member of a competitive horse trail riding club in Napa and also served with Search and Rescue. Survivors: His wife, Dr. Helen F. Steenman; his mother, Mary E. Sweeney of Palm Bay, Fla.; his father, Gerald E. Flynn of Baldwinsville; three sisters, Kathleen Skeels of North Pole, Alaska, Laura Cunningham of Apopka, Fla., and Susan Stanko of Wilson. Richard J. Salisbury, 60, of 571 Route 62, Pulaski, died Sunday. Born in Richland, he graduated from Pulaski Academy Central School. He was employed by United Parcel Service in Syracuse for the past 10 years. He was a long-haul tractor-trailer driver for 23 years and owned and operated a dairy farm for the last 15 years. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church and member and past master of Pulaski Grange 730. Survivors: His wife of 39 years, the former Barbara A. Kimball; a daughter, Jennine M.  Johnson of Pulaski; a son, Brian J. of Pulaski; his mother, the Rev. Catherine Salisbury of Pulaski; two sisters, Marilyn L. Maurer of North Syracuse and Lois C. Lehman of Tempe, Ariz.; three brothers, Bruce F. of Olathe, Kan., Donald C. of McKinney,  Texas, and David A. of Madison, Ala.; seven grandchildren. Susan Tyo, 83, of North Syracuse died Monday. Born in Trenton, N.J., she had also lived in Potsdam and New Jersey before moving to North Syracuse in 1985. She was a food service worker and had worked at BJ's Wholesale Club and the former Howard  Johnson restaurant at the Thruway service area at DeWitt. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of Take Pounds Off Sensibly Wednesday Night Club. Survivors: A son, Dean A. of North Syracuse; three sisters, Rosemary Waltos of Trenton, N.J., Angie Cepowicz of Houston and Lucy Schino; two brothers, Charles and Paul Schino, both of Allentown, N.J.; two grandsons. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St., North Syracuse. Burial, North Syracuse Cemetery. The family will greet friends after the service in the church. He was assistant director of technology at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. He was a member of New Life Assembly of God where he was also an elder, treasurer, Sunday school teacher and member of the Tuesday Night Home Bible Study. Survivors: His wife of 35 years, the former Linda Jones; two sons, Bradley E. of Houghton and Matthew G. of Macedon; a grandchild. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday in New Life Assembly of God. Theodore F. Yablonski, 76, of Buckeye, Ariz., died June 14. Born in Mexico, he lived there most of his life before moving to Buckeye a few years ago. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Mexico for many years and had worked at Sealright Packaging Co. in Fulton. His first wife, Elaine, died in 1991. Survivors: His wife, Joanne; a daughter, Mary Shamowski of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; two sons, Ted of Mexico and Tim of Lake Havasu; six grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. Friday at Harter Funeral Home. Mary Anne Waddington Balch, 52, of Liverpool died Wednesday. Born in Syracuse, she was a life resident of the Syracuse area. She was a nurse for Pulmonary Health Physicians at North Medical Center for five years. She had been a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center 14 years. She was a member of Liverpool Community Church. Survivors: Four sons, John Dwyer of Rochester, David Dwyer of Phoenix, Joseph Balch of Syracuse and Brandon Balch of Liverpool; her longtime companion, Richard Balch of Liverpool. R. Blanche Banks

R. Blanche Magil Banks, 88, of Spring Street Road, Cayuga, died Wednesday. She was born in Tarentum, Pa. She graduated from Penn State University and was an elementary-school teacher in Seventh-day Adventist schools in  Pennsylvania. She was extension agent for Monroe County (Pa.) for several years. She was a Red Cross instructor and helped found Walnutport (Pa.) Health Fair. She was active in the Seventh-day Adventist Church Pathfinder Program. Her husband, Tunis E., died previously. Survivors: Two daughters, Patricia Kimble of Cayuga and Chizuko N. Berliner of Newport Beach,  Calif.; two sons, John J. of Stroudsburg, Pa., and Harry L. of Wasilla, Alaska; a brother, Albert Allison of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Gertrude M. Beard, 82, of Hester Avenue, North Syracuse, died Tuesday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Ames, she graduated in 1938 from Chittenango High School. She retired in 1982 from Marty's restaurant after many years in the restaurant business. She had also been a bookkeeper at First Trust and Deposit Bank in Syracuse and an electrical assembly-line worker at Pass and Seymour during World War II. She was a member of North Syracuse Baptist Church. Survivors: Her husband of 60 years, Ralph L. Sr.; a daughter, Susan E. Bigtree of Baldwinsville; a son, Ralph L. Jr. of Cazenovia; a sister, Florence Garlock of Rancho Mirage,  Calif.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services: Noon Saturday at Fergerson Funeral Home.
