Gladys Kipp
HUDSON - Private cremation will take place for Mrs. Gladys Cook Kipp, 75, of Albany-Shaker Road, Colonie, formerly of Hudson, who died Thursday at the Albany County Nursing Home in Colonie after being stricken.
Born in Hudson, Mrs. Kipp was a longtime resident. She moved to the nursing home in September 2000.
She was a Catholic.
Mrs. Kipp worked at Universal Match for more than 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Dutcher of Burnt Hills and Barbara Szafran of Anadarko, Okla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by the Glenville Funeral Home in Glenville.

Margaret Stellrecht Osterlitz, biology teacher in Arkansas
ROTTERDAM - Mrs. Margaret Stellrecht Osterlitz, 77, of Eugene Drive, died at home Friday.
Mrs. Osterlitz was born in Batavia, graduated from Batavia High School and attended Buffalo State Teachers College.
At one time, she taught biology in Blytheville, Ark.
A 50-year resident of Rotterdam, Mrs. Osterlitz was a member of St. Gabriel's Church and its Women's Club, a volunteer at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady and a former member of Parents Without Partners.
Her first husband, Robert H. Stellrecht, whom she married June 26, 1944, died in 1962. She married Anthony V. Osterlitz on Aug. 2, 1969. He died in 1991.
Survivors include five sons, John R. Stellrecht and Mark J. Osterlitz, both of Schenectady, Richard S. Stellrecht and Vincent A. Osterlitz, both of Glenville, and David J. Stellrecht of Niskayuna; five daughters, Patricia E. Eyer of Orlando, Fla., Barbara J. Welch of Esperance, Kathleen Stellrecht Burns of Albany, Christine M. Stellrecht of Houston, Texas, and Mary A. Mlodzianowski of Rotterdam; a sister, Rowena Landers of Batavia; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, and at 9 at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg St.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Barbara Buzon, 79, owned, operated diner with husband
MIDDLEBURGH - Mrs. Barbara S. Buzon, 79, of River Street, died Friday at Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill.
Born in Blenheim, Mrs. Buzon was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Middleburgh Central School.
She and her husband owned and operated the Middleburgh Diner on Route 145 from 1951 to 1989.
Mrs. Buzon was a communicant of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Buzon, whom she married Nov. 20, 1945; a daughter, Margaret Buzon of Middleburgh; and a son, Thomas M. Buzon of Middleburgh.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's Church on Main Street.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 63 River St.
Burial will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.

Mary Pitcher, 99, a founder of Sacandaga Bible Conference
UTICA - Mrs. Mary Bartlett Pitcher, formerly of Broadalbin, died Friday at the Masonic Home. She was 99 years old.
Born in Broadalbin, Mrs. Pitcher was a 1920 graduate of the Gloversville Business School.
She was employed as a bookkeeper and clerk for the Broadalbin Knitting Co. and later for Beech-Nut Manufacturing in Canajoharie until her retirement in 1962.
After retiring, Mrs. Pitcher moved to Florida. She returned to this area in 1996.
She was a founding member of the Sacandaga Bible Conference in Broadalbin in 1936 and was a past matron of the Broadalbin Order of the Eastern Star.
She married Lynn Fred Pitcher on June 24, 1924. He died Oct. 7, 1994.
Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Compani of Tribes Hill.
A service is set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Sacandaga Bible Conference, where a calling hour will begin at 1.
Entombment will be Wednesday in the Boca Raton Cemetery Mausoleum, Florida.

Donald L. Gauvin, awarded 5 Purple Hearts, Bronze Star
INDIAN LAKE - Donald L. Gauvin, 80, of Jerry Savarie Road in Indian Lake, Hamilton County, died Saturday at his daughter's home after a long illness.
Mr. Gauvin was born in Blue Mountain Lake and attended Indian Lake High School.
He was employed at Wedekind Motors in Schenectady for 17 years and later was park superintendent of the Lake Durant Campsites for 10 years until retiring in September 1990.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Gauvin served as a paratrooper. During the Korean War, he was a staff sergeant in command of the medical ambulance corps at Fort Benning, Ga.
He was awarded five Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wilson Gauvin, whom he married Aug. 28, 1945; two daughters, Sharon Earls and Celeste Gamache, both of Ballston Spa; two brothers, Gordon Gauvin of Amsterdam and Nelson Gauvin of Indian Lake; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
There will be no calling hours.

Basil W. Carey
ESPERANCE - Basil W. Carey, 80, of Western Turnpike, died Friday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Mr. Carey was born in Braman Corners and graduated from Delanson High School. He moved to Esperance 18 years ago.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Schenectady County Highway Department for 40 years before retiring.
Mr. Carey was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars James Duane Post 2303 in Delanson.
He was a charter member of Elks Lodge 2507, where he held the offices of tiler and organist. He was 1988-89 Elk of the Year.
Survivors include a sister, Lorraine Berndsen of St. Louis.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main St., Delanson. A calling hour will precede the service.
Burial, at a later date, will be in Esperance Cemetery.

Concetta Messore
MECHANICVILLE - Mrs. Concetta Martone Messore, 81, of William Street, died at home Saturday after a short illness.
Born in Mechanicville, Mrs. Messore was a lifelong resident.
She had been employed at the former Korell Dress Manufacturers.
Mrs. Messore was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church and a member of its Rosary Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Michael F. Messore; three daughters, Sandra M. White and Rosemary A. Messore, both of Mechanicville, and Kathleen A. Messore of Selkirk; two sisters, Rose Caputo of Mechanicville and Mary Fantuazzi of Clifton Park; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Assumption-St. Paul Church on William Street.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Earl Waters Jr.
HARTFORD, Conn. - Earl L. Waters Jr., 54, of Hartford, died March 27.
Mr. Waters was born in Connecticut. He lived in Connecticut and in New York state as a young man before settling in Connecticut in his twenties.
He was employed in data processing at the Travelers Insurance Co. for 20 years.
Mr. Waters participated in many intramural sports during his time at the Travelers and continued to be active in the Travelers Mixed Bowling League.
After leaving the company, he began a career as a consultant. For the last three years, he had worked at Royal and Sun Alliance.
Mr. Waters was a member and past exalted ruler of Hartford Elks Lodge 19.
He was a two-year veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include four sisters, Sandra Tesch and Kathy Martin, both of Voorheesville, Annamae Howard of Middle Grove and Debbie Betz of Schenectady; and seven brothers, Robert Waters of Rensselaer, and James Waters, William Waters, Kenny Waters, Donnie Waters, David Waters and Mark Waters, all of Schenectady.
Services were held March 31 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vernon, Conn.
