Michael 'Micky' Dunkailo

LITTLE FALLS -- Mr. Michael "Micky" Dunkailo, age 86, of 550 E. John St., Little Falls, passed away on Saturday evening, September 11, 2004, in Van Allen's Nursing Home, Little Falls.

He was born on October 1, 1917, in Scranton, PA, a son of the late William and Anna (Stanko) Dunkailo and was educated in  Pennsylvania schools. He was joined in marriage with the former Margaret P. Naple on June 15, 1947, in St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls, with the Rev. T.J. Lynch officiating. Theirs was a blessed and loving union of 56 years until the passing of Mrs. Dunkailo on April 3, 2004.

Mike honorably served his country with the United States Army and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars. On January 23, 1946, he received an honorable discharge.

He was last employed with MDS as a foreman. He was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, and was a member of American Legion Post No. 31 and the Decarlo-Staffo Post of Little Falls.

Mike enjoyed bowling, golfing, and watching the New York Mets and loved to attend Little Falls Mets games.

Survivors include three brothers, Nicholas Dunkailo of Scranton, PA, Peter Dunkailo of Charleroi, PA, and John Dunkailo of Smithfield, VA; three sisters, Louise Zinsky of Throop, PA, Alice Coar of Dunmore, PA, and Anna DeFlice of Gouldsboro, PA; in-laws, Ben Tisi of Little Falls, Sharon Bosch of Little Falls, Dolores George of Little Falls and Mary Sandy of Amsterdam; a special grandson, Attorney Donald Manley of Ilion; several godchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Priska; and three brothers, William, Wally and Harry Dunkailo.

Visitation at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, will be on Wednesday morning, September 15, 2004, from 9-10:30 a.m. Mike's funeral will commence at a t 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning from the chapel of the Enea Funeral Home where prayer will be offered and at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Parish, corner of East Main and John streets, Little Falls, where the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will then follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest with his wife Marge.

Kindly consider contributions in memory of Mr. Dunkailo to the Holy Family Parish Memorial Fund; envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Mary A. Woroby

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- Mary A. Woroby, 71, of 26 Center St., St. Johnsville, passed away on Friday September 10, 2004, at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home.

She was born May 11, 1933, in Mindenville, the daughter of the late Charles & Jennie (Marchese) Campione. Mary was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and was a lifelong resident of the St. Johnsville area.

Her marriage to Edward H. Woroby took place on June 6, 1954, at St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville.

Until her retirement in 1989, Mary was employed at Sentinel Products in St. Johnsville.

Mrs. Woroby was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the St. Johnsville Senior Saints.

With her family as her foremost priority, Mary proved herself to be a loving and caring wife, grandmother and sister. In her leisure she enjoyed going to doll stores and garage sales.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Edward; a brother, Joseph Campione of St. Johnsville; two sisters, Lena Danna and Ann Francisco, both of St. Johnsville; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Woroby of Salem; three grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Kimberly Woroby; in-laws, Ann and Michael Murphy of Ballston Spa, Ola Gudzy of Mohawk, Lena Campione of Little Falls and Verna Woroby of Mohawk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, Edward C. Woroby; and two brothers, James and Salvatore Campione.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at 8:30 a.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, and at 9 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday, September 13, 2004, from 4-7 p.m. All memorial contributions may be made to the Association for the Blind. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Eleanor T. Baldwin

LITTLE FALLS -- Eleanor T. Baldwin, 92, of 40 Church St., Little Falls, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2004, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, where she had been a patient since September 10, 2004.

She was born on June 1, 1912, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Grace (Mellor) Trask Sr. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School, class of 1929, as well as a graduate of Geneseo Normal School, class of 1932, and SUNY Geneseo, class of 1954.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls, a former member of the Little Falls Hospital Guild and a longtime member of the WCA Thursday Bridge Club, Little Falls.

Mrs. Baldwin was employed as a librarian in public library's in Pleasantville, New Rochelle and Herkimer where she served as the director of the Herkimer Free Library from 1947-1953. She retired as a school librarian in 1967 at Hartsdale Schools in Westchester County.

She is survived by her brother, Albert E. Trask Jr. of Little Falls, with whom she resided and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls.

Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.

Obituary: Mary E. Egleston, 80, a life long Ilion resident, passed away on Tuesday March 6, 2007 at Little Falls Hospital.

She was born June 17, 1926 in Ilion the daughter of the late John J. & Mary E. (Leahy) Sheehan, and was educated in Ilion schools.

Her marriage to Harold Egleston took place on July 4, 1945 at the Annunciation Church in Ilion.

Mrs. Egleston was a member of the Annunciation Church in Ilion, and the Herkimer County Humane Society.

Mary was the former owner of the Valley Poodles, Dog Grooming service in Ilion.

Mary was a loving wife and mother, and had a special place in her heart for dogs and all types of animals.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Ilion; a daughter, Dawn Dowd and husband George of Ilion; two grandchildren, Shevaun E. Dowd of Rome, and Meaghan E. Dowd of Ilion; nieces & nephews, Kathie Gzanowicz of Herkimer; Dan Conroy of Geneva, NY; Sean Conroy of  South Carolina; and Kelly Conroy Myrtle and husband Rod of Colorado.

She was pre-deceased by a sister Katherine Conroy and a brother, John J. Sheehan, Jr.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes there are no calling hours. A memorial serve will be held later in the spring at the Annunciation Church with burial at St. Agnes Cemetery, with the date and time to be announced. Arrangements are by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (between Ilion and Frankfort). All memorial contributions may be made to Herkimer Humane Society, P.O. Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407.

Mrs. Eleanor M. Gale, 83, of Le Roy died Wednesday, July 21, 2004.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ in Morganville.

Mrs. Mary E. Titus, 76, of Wyoming died Thursday, July 22, 2004.
