Shaw, George Vincent Jr. : Dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and friend, died on Friday, June 2, 2000, from complications following aortic surgery. He was born in Rochester, New York, on September 6, 1928. He graduated from Brighton High School, in Rochester, and Yale University, earning a B. A. in economics in 1950. In 1955, while working for Maverick Clark Corp., he was transferred to San Antonio. There he met Eva Darleen Blue. The couple married in 1957 and had five children. In 1968, together with Dutch Holmes, he founded the computer services firm Holmes and Shaw Inc. He was the first CPA in the State of Texas to convert to computerized accounting. Previously, he had been a partner with the CPA firm Holmes, Racquet, Harris and Shaw. George served as president of HSI until his death. He was actively involved in the Catholic Church. He was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He joined St. Pius X Parish in 1964, and held various leadership positions over the years including chairman of the Finance Committee, member of the Parish Board and member of the Church Building Committee. He also was vice chairman of the San Antonio Symphony Society and chairman of the Opera Task Force. Most recently, he served as a stewardship review volunteer for the United Way. George was a member of the Bexar Kiwanas Club, the Yale Alumni Club, Los Toros Investment Club and Oak Hills Country Club. He was preceded in death by his infant son Edward Blue. George is survived by his wife of 42 years, Darleen Shaw; children Cynthia Shaw, Sally Shaw, George V. Shaw III and his wife Diane, and Jennifer Shaw Harper and her husband Sam; six grandchildren, Campbell Glascock; George IV, Hilary and Spencer Shaw; and Hannah and Sam IV Harper; and two sisters, Jane Jacobs and Ann South.

Babe Thomas J. Jr. : Darien Conn. : Thomas J. Babe a longtime Darien resident passed away at the Richard Rosenthal Hospice residence on Wednesday December 6, 2000. He was 59. Born in Buffalo New York on March 13, 1941 he was the son of the late Thomas J. Babe and Ruth Lossie Babe.
Mr. Babe graduated from Harvard University, St. Catherine's College in Cambridge England and was a graduate at Yale Law School. He taught play writing for many years at New York University in the English Department. Mr. Babe was a playwright. Many of His plays were performed regionally as well as internationally such as "A Prayer for my Daughter" and "Taken in Marriage" also "Planet Fires" was opening play at Geva Theater. He wrote for the Democrat & Chronicle Newspaper for many years while he was a student at West High School in Rochester and summers while he was at Harvard University.
He is survived by his longtime partner, Neal Bell of Darien; his mother, Ruth Lossie Babe of Rochester, New York; his daughter, Charissa Pacella of Mount Lebanon PA; his 2 sisters, Mimi Babe Harris of Roanoke Virginia and Karen Babe Ford of Farmington New York; 2 nieces, Sara & Catherine Sheppard and 2 nephews, Brad & Joel Harris.
All Services were held privately. Contributions may be made in his name to the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice resident 1029 East Main St. Sanford Conn. ., 06902. Local arrangements were made by the Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St. Canandaigua.

Chesterman, Albert E. "Red": November 28, 2003 at age 92. Predeceased by his wife, Morley Chesterman. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Robert E. Wehnert; a niece, Tracie A. Reeves; a nephew, Paul D. Wehnert; a grand-niece, BriAnna N. Wehnert.
Red was a 46-year retiree of Eastman Kodak Co. He was coordinator of Kodak's exhibits and trade shows for many years. He was also a life member of the Master Photo Finishers and Dealers Association. As a World War II veteran, Red was involved in producing training films for both the Army and the Air Force during the war. Funeral services will be private at the family's request.
