Lena (Wiczkouski) Crimmins
HERKIMER — Lena (Wiczkouski) Crimmins, 86, of Valley Heath Services, Herkimer, and formerly of 341 Eureka Ave., Herkimer, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2000, at Valley Health Services.
She was born April 21, 1914, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Roman and Catherine Wiczkouski. Lena was a graduate of Herkimer High School, Class of 1932, and was a life long resident of the Herkimer area.
Her marriage to William Crimmins took place on September 14, 1936, at St. Mary's Rectory in Little Falls. The couple shared a blessed union of marriage for 16 years until the passing of William on October 15, 1952.
For 20 years, until her retirement in 1973, Lena was employed at the former Univac as a tester.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Crimmins of Little Falls; a son, William Crimmins and his wife, Patricia Brennan Crimmins, of Tonawanda and a special niece, Katherine Krawecki of Herkimer.
Lena was predeceased by a beloved grandson, William Scott Cimmins, in 1990 and a sister, Ohla Krawecki.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2000, at 7 p.m. from the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N.  Washington St., Herkimer, with the Reverend Robert Shinos, pastor of the Church of Saints Anthony and Joseph's, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives may call at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home on Saturday, November 4, 2000, from 4 p.m. until the time of the services. All memorial contributions may be made to Valley Health Services or the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family of Lena would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Valley Health Services for the care shown to their mother during her stay.

Leland A. Carpenter
DOLGEVILLE — Mr. Leland A. Carpenter, 76, of 217 Sweet Hill Road, Dolgeville, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, in Little Falls Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Fultonville on Aug. 26, 1924, the son of Charles and Flossie Hotaling Carpenter, and was educated in schools in Stratford. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army with Company K 71st Infantry, from March 1943 until he was honorably discharged in October 1945 with the rank of PFC. He served in India and Burma and received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal/one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation. Leland was married to the former Dolores Mae Hall on July 6, 1953, in Williamstown, Mass. He was employed by Rawlings-Adirondack Industries of Dolgeville as the Yard and Drykill Supervisor until his retirement due to his health. Memorial services for family members will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Roberts-Buck Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville. Burial will be in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, in the spring. There are no calling hours. Memorials may be made to the Hilltop Fire Department or to the Oppenheim Fire Department in his memory.

Raymond Korce
LITTLE FALLS — Raymond Korce, 84, of 291 Newville Road, Little Falls, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 31, 1917 in the town of Danube, the son of the late Frank and Anna (Prevek) Korce. He attended Little Falls High School.
He was united in marriage to the former Mary Margaret Gardinier on June 17, 1944 at St. Mary's Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Korce predeceased him on Feb. 19, 1996. The couple shared a union of 52 years together.
Mr. Korce was a member of Holy Family Parish of Little Falls.
Mr. Korce dedicated a great deal of time to public service. He served at onetime as town of Danube assessor, tax collector, and town supervisor. He later went on to serve as a member of the Herkimer County Legislature and was the Herkimer County Commissioner of Jurors for nine years. He was also active in various farm organizations and, to the time of his death, was serving on the New York State Regional Forest Practice Board.
Mr. Korce was owner and operator of the family dairy farm in the town of Danube, which he began working on at the age of 14, retiring from farming several years ago.
He is survived by his two sisters, Anne Furlan and Jane Rose, both of Little Falls; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and close friends who he thought so much of.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. from Holy Family Parish Church, corner of Main and John sts., Little Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles R. Celeste. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls on Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 5-8 p.m. and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Korce be considered to the Holy Family Parish Church or the NYS Forestry Fund. Envelopes are available at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc. for this purpose.

Esther M. (Hoffman) Myers
DOLGEVILLE — Esther M. (Hoffman) Myers, formerly of 161 King Road, town of Oppenheim, Dolgeville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was 94.
Mrs. Myers was born on Sept. 27, 1906, in Galaway, the daughter of the late Peter and Stella (Hand) Hoffman. Esther shared 57 years of marriage with Seymour V. Myers. They were married in St. Mary's Church, Amsterdam. Mr. Myers passed away in September of 1984. She lived in Dolgeville for many years. Esther was last employed by Van Wie's Restaurant in Canajoharie for 15 years.She was of the Catholic Faith.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James E. Myers Sr. and wife Beverly M. of Peru, Ind.; and a daughter, Noreen F. Looman of Dolgeville. Esther is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.
Esther's funeral service's will be held at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of the Enea Funeral Home, Little Falls.

Murray Robinson Lyon
LITTLE FALLS — Mr. Murray Robinson Lyon, 92, of W. Timmerman St., Dolgeville, and a life long resident of the community of Dolgeville, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2001, at Little Falls Hospital.
Murray's funeral will commence at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2001, at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. The family will be present to greet relatives and friends and to celebrate Murray's life from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment in Dolgeville Cemetery will take place later this spring. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Dolgeville Ambulance.
Mr. Lyon was born on the Lyon farm in the town of Manheim on August 11, 1908, the son of the late Waldo Marsden and Grace (Caulkins) Lyon. He married Dorothy Doxstader on October 4, 1929, sharing over 50 years of marriage until her passing on April 12, 1986. He was last employed with the Niagara Mohawk Company retiring with over 30 years of dedicated service retiring in 1973. He belonged to Niagara Mohawk's 25-year club and was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Eleanor Sherwood of Salisbury Center; a brother, Theodore Lyon of Cobleskill; a sister, Rosalyn Lein of Dolgeville; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Lyon of Dolgeville; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy; his son, Raymond M. Lyon; and three brothers, Lyndon, George and Cecil.
Cremation will take place under the direction of the Enea Funeral Home, Little Falls, who is handling all funeral arrangements.

Mary G. Harrill
ILION — Mrs. Mary G. Harrill, 82, a longtime resident of Forge Hills Estates in Ilion, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion. Mary received wonderful care during her stay at Mohawk Valley and her family would especially like to acknowledge her caregivers on the third floor.
She was born on January 6, 1919, in Ilion, the daughter of the late Omer and Loretta (Morris) Losier. Mary attended Ilion schools and had been a lifelong Ilion resident. She was united in marriage to Hugh E. Harrill on August 19, 1955. Mr. Harrill passed away on August 11, 1968. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion.
Survivors include her sister in-law, Mrs. Bernard (Eileen) Losier of Ilion; and nieces and nephews including John and Sharon Kowalczik of Ilion, David and Katherine Williams of Ilion, Patricia Petryk of Pompey, Linda Losier of East Herkimer and Thomas and Theresa Losier of New Jersey; 13 grand nieces and nephews and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mr. Bernard Losier, on December 2, 1998.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a time to be announced from the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion, with the Reverend Joseph Beninetende, pastor, officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. In respect of Mary's wishes, there will be no public calling hours.
Those wishing are asked to consider donations in memory of Mrs. Harrill to the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. Envelopes may be obtained from the Enea Family Funeral Home.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street, between Ilion and Frankfort (894-8000).
