Gus A. Arnitz, Jr.

CLYDE- Mr. Gus A. Arnitz Jr., 67, of 111 Wayne Ave.,
died peacefully on Thursday (June 7, 2007) with his
family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday (June
10th) from 4 to 7 PM and on Monday (June 11th) from 2-
4 & 7-9 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W. Genesee
St. Clyde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
on Tuesday (June 12th) at 9:30 AM in St. John the
Evangelist R.C. Church with the Rev. James Hewes
officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery,
Clyde.
Memorial contributions to The Humane Society at
Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450 or to
St. John's Church Memorial Fund, 114 Sodus Street,
Clyde, NY 14433 would be appreciated.
Mr. Arnitz was born in Lyons on July 27, 1939, the son of
the late Gus A. and Mary Fratangelo Arnitz, Sr. Gus Jr.
spent 42 years of his life working for the Clyde-
Savannah Central School District in the transportation
department. He dedicated his life to the safety and well
being of school children. Gus was a leader in safety,
being named N.Y.S. School Bus Driver Instructor of the
Year, as well as receiving several other forms of
recognition for his leadership, dedication and passion for
his job. He also worked 30 years for Bramer's Store in
Clyde. Gus became a true member of the Bramer family.
He will be greatly missed not only by his family and
friends, but also by the transportation community for
which he gave so much. Gus was an avid Yankee fan
and enjoyed listening to Elvis music.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (Gibbons)
Arnitz; his sons Mark (Donna) Arnitz of Newark, Gus
Paul (Jamie) Arnitz of Clyde; his daughters Maureen
(David) Gasbarro of Newark, Sharon (Mike) DeRenzo of
Clyde, Mariellen (Tom) Viola of Webster; his 2 brothers
Peter Arnitz of Cato and Ron Arnitz of Florida; 11
grandchildren, several aunts, nieces and nephews, his
son-in-law, Daniel DeLisio and close family friend Betty
Robinson.
Gus was pre-deceased by his parents.

Deborah (Debbie) Shelley

CLYDE- Deborah L. Shelley, 45, of Lehigh Acres, FL,
formerly of Clyde, died unexpectedly Sunday (June 3,
2007) following a sudden illness at Lee Memorial
Hospital in Ft. Myers, FL.
Calling hours will be private. Family and friends are
invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday
(June 11th) at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist R.C.
Church with the Rev. James Hewes officiating. Burial will
be in St. John's Cemetery, Clyde.

Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sodus St., Clyde, NY
14433 would be appreciated.
Debbie was born on September 16, 1961, the daughter
of Jay and Eloyse Welch Shelley. She was raised in
upstate NY and attended Clyde-Savannah schools. She
graduated from practical nursing school in 1985. Debbie
was a devoted mother and a caring nurse, working at
several facilities in the Florida area over the past 10
years. A spunky redhead, she continues to give to others
even in death thru her generous donation of the gift of
life.
She is survived by her sons, Joshua of Cape Coral, FL.
and Timothy, serving with the US Army in Iraq; her
mother Eloyse Shelley of Lehigh Acres, FL.; 3 sisters Paula
(Larry) Applebee of Apalachicola, FL., Tammy (John)
Cordon of Clyde, and her twin sister Donna Shelley of
Penfield; 1 brother Michael (Elise) Shelley of Fairport
and several nieces and nephews. Debbie was
predeceased by her father, Jay Shelley, in 2006.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baris
Funeral Home of Clyde

L. Stanley Carne II

CLYDE- Mr. L. Stanley Carne II, of 25 E. Dezeng St.,
died Friday (August 10, 2007) at the Pines of Peace
Hospice Home in Ontario after a courageous battle with
cancer.
At Stanley's request, there will be no prior calling hours.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday
(August 14th) from 1 to 2 PM at the Lighthouse Baptist
Church, 1000 South Main St., Newark. A celebration of
his life will follow in the church at 2 PM. Burial will be in
Maple Grove Cemetery, Clyde
Memorial contributions to the Pines of Peace Hospice
Home, 2378 Ridge Rd., Ontario, NY 14519 or to the the
Lighthouse Baptist Christian School, 1000 South Main
St., Newark, NY 14513 would be appreciated.
Stanley was born on June 25, 1953 in Lewiston, Maine,
the son of Lloyd S. and Priscilla Colby Carne. He had
been a resident of Clyde since 1982, and prior to that
had lived in Newark. Stanley was most recently
employed by the Pliant Corporation of Macedon, and
prior to that had worked for the Fold-Pak Corp of Newark
for over 23 years until it's closing. He also had been
employed as the Town of Galen bookkeeper and was the
bookkeeper for the Wayne County Water Authority. On
November 24, 1979 he married the former Caryl Jinks.
He was active in his churches, and had driven church
bus for over 16 years for the Maranatha Baptist Church
in Lyons and the Heritage Baptist Church in Palmyra,
driving children for church services and Sunday School.
Stan enjoyed sports, especially golf and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of over 27 years Caryl Carne
of Clyde, his son Nathan S. (Lesley) Carne of Newark;
his daughter Jennifer Carne of Clyde; his mother Priscilla
Carne of Greenville, SC; his brothers Jerre (Jennifer)
Carne, and Chris Carne; his sisters Daphne (Scott)
Bashor and Camillia Cole all of Greenville, SC and
several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by
his father Lloyd in 2003.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baris
Funeral Home of Clyde, NY.

Rachel Ball

CLYDE - Mrs. Rachel R. Ball, 104, formerly of 65 Lock St.
peacefully met her Lord on Saturday (August 18, 2007)
at the Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons, NY.
Calling hours and funeral will be privately held on
Tuesday (August 21st) from the Baris Funeral Home in
Clyde.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde United Methodist
Church, Sodus St., Clyde, NY 14433 would be
appreciated.
Mrs. Ball was born in Montezuma, NY on December 28,
1902, the daughter of John and Clara Gilmore Wright.
Rachel was a resident of Clyde for over 55 years, and
before that had lived in Port Byron. She was a member
of the Clyde United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ball will
always be remembered as a patient and caring
individual.
She is survived by her sons Charles (Sandra) Ball of
Lyons and Richard Ball of Lyons; her grandchildren
Deborah Ball of Lyons, Donald Ball of Lyons, Richard A.
Ball of Winchester, KY, and Scott Benge Sr.; her great-
grandchildren Crystal Ball of Lyons, Nicole (Scott)
Schnelle of Hopkinsville, KY, Scott Benge Jr. of Virginia
and Crystal Benge of Florida; one great-great
granddaughter Charlie Rayne Schnelle of Hopkinsville,
KY; sisters in law Eva R. Wright of Auburn and Beatrice
Tassche of Scottsdale, AZ; neices Carol (John) Burke,
Lea (Edward) Windhausen and Louise (Nicholas)
Grappaldi and one nephew Gary Wright.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Raymond in
1961, her parents, her sisters Isabella Farnham and
Florence Wright; her brothers Raymond, Lincoln, Lloyd
and Alton Wright.

Lillian I. Fisher

CLYDE - Mrs. Lillian I. Fisher, 83, formerly of Clyde, died Monday
(August 20, 2007) at Lake East Hospital in Painesville,
Ohio.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday (August
24th) from 5-8 PM at the Baris Funeral Home, 87 W.
Genesee St. Clyde. Funeral services will be held on
Saturday (August 25th) at 10 AM in the funeral home
with the Rev. Leonard Humbert officiating. Burial will
follow in Rose Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Clyde Library or to the
Clyde United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
Mrs. Fisher was born in Rose on December 5, 1923, the
daughter of Frank L.W. and Doris Alberta Bastian
Barnes. She had graduated from North Rose High School,
Class of 1941. On June 23, 1946 she married the late
Frank L. Fisher, who pre-deceased her on March 18,
1991. Over the years, Lillian had worked for Gould's
Pumps, Will's Paint and Paper Store in Geneva, General
Electric Corporation in Clyde, Parker Hannifin
Corporation in both Clyde and Lyons, Sarah Coventry
Co in Newark and Hickok's. She was a member of the
Clyde United Methodist Church, and had been a resident
of the Clyde area for over 77 years before moving to
Ohio in 2000.
Surviving are her children, James L. (Terri Iula) Fisher of
Canandaigua and Mrs. Shirley (Terry) Lehmann of
Thompson Ohio. 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren,
10 great-grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

Dorathy R. Schell-Kovach

CLYDE / NEWARK - Mrs. Dorathy R. Schell-Kovach, 82,
of Bedford, OH, died Tuesday September 11, 2007.
Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside
services on Saturday (Sept. 15th) at 10:30 AM in Maple
Grove Cemetery, Clyde. Rev. Bill Darow will officiate.
Memorial contributions to The Woodside Village of
Bedford, 19455 Rockside Rd., Bedford, OH 44161 would
be appreciated.
Mrs. Schell-Kovach was born in Norwich, CT on October
29, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Ethel
Magraw Ingraham. She was a resident of Ohio for the
past 70 years. She summered in the Clyde area with her
maternal grandparents, Ruez and Rose Magraw of
Elizabeth St. Clyde, during her school years. Dorathy
worked as a travel consultant for AAA in Cleveland,
Ohio.
Surviving are one daughter Denise (Richard) Reville of
Northfield Center, OH; her sister Lucille Sears of
Newark, NY; her grandchildren Donna, Jessica, Matthew
(Alicia) and Jeffrey; her great grandchildren Emily,
Abigail, Isabel, Jillian and Tyler.
She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Donald J.
Schell and her second husband Steve Kovach.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
Baris Funeral Home of Clyde.
