Concetta Messore
MECHANICVILLE - Mrs. Concetta Martone Messore, 81, of William Street, died at home Saturday after a short illness.
Born in Mechanicville, Mrs. Messore was a lifelong resident.
She had been employed at the former Korell Dress Manufacturers.
Mrs. Messore was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church and a member of its Rosary Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Michael F. Messore; three daughters, Sandra M. White and Rosemary A. Messore, both of Mechanicville, and Kathleen A. Messore of Selkirk; two sisters, Rose Caputo of Mechanicville and Mary Fantuazzi of Clifton Park; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Assumption-St. Paul Church on William Street.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Earl Waters Jr.
HARTFORD, Conn. - Earl L. Waters Jr., 54, of Hartford, died March 27.
Mr. Waters was born in Connecticut. He lived in Connecticut and in New York state as a young man before settling in Connecticut in his twenties.
He was employed in data processing at the Travelers Insurance Co. for 20 years.
Mr. Waters participated in many intramural sports during his time at the Travelers and continued to be active in the Travelers Mixed Bowling League.
After leaving the company, he began a career as a consultant. For the last three years, he had worked at Royal and Sun Alliance.
Mr. Waters was a member and past exalted ruler of Hartford Elks Lodge 19.
He was a two-year veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include four sisters, Sandra Tesch and Kathy Martin, both of Voorheesville, Annamae Howard of Middle Grove and Debbie Betz of Schenectady; and seven brothers, Robert Waters of Rensselaer, and James Waters, William Waters, Kenny Waters, Donnie Waters, David Waters and Mark Waters, all of Schenectady.
Services were held March 31 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vernon, Conn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Earl L. Waters Jr. Memorial Fund in care of Elks Lodge 19, 34 Prospect St., Hartford, CT 06103.
Arrangements were by the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home in East Hartford, Conn.
Ethel Brown
GLOVERSVILLE - Mrs. Ethel M. Brown, 88, formerly of Steele Avenue, died Friday at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany, Oneida County, where she had lived since May 1997.
Mrs. Brown was born in South Glens Falls and attended Glens Falls High School.
She was employed at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady from 1941 to 1958.
From 1958 until her retirement in 1978, Mrs. Brown was a dental assistant to Dr. John Liberti in Gloversville.
She was a member and past matron of St. Monica Chapter 486 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Brown was a Protestant.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith Danelorich of Johnstown; a son, David J. Carter of Gloversville; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William Street, Johnstown.
There are no calling hours.
Cremation will take place at the Leatherstocking Crematory in Cherry Valley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany.
Florence Muller
ALBANY - Mrs. Florence Muller, 69, of the Villa Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, died there suddenly Friday.
Mrs. Muller was born in Chatham and lived in Albany most of her life.
She was the companion of William Conlon until his death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Bell of Keeseville and Margaret Skinkle of East Berne; a brother, Forrest Dedrick of Albany; two sisters, Alberta Weaver of Albany and Helen Huick of Valatie; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicorelli Funeral Home, 331 Delaware Ave. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Florence Watson
MENANDS - Mrs. Florence H. Watson of Kingston Avenue died Friday at home after being stricken.
Born in Troy, Mrs. Watson was a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle School in Mechanicville and the Juilliard School of Music, where she earned a bachelor's degree in music.
She was employed as a bookkeeper for the New York Telephone Co. for many years in the 1960s and 1970s.
Later, Mrs. Watson worked as a teacher's aide for the Troy City School District for more than 25 years, retiring in 1999.
She lived in Watervliet for three years before moving to Menands in 1997.
She was the widow of the late John E. Watson.
Survivors include a son, David J. Watson of Colonie.
A service is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Burial will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
James Mahoney
RENSSELAER - James W. Mahoney of Mountain View died at home Saturday.
Born in Green Island, Mr. Mahoney graduated from Watervliet High School.
He was employed by the state and later joined the State Bank of Albany, now Fleet Bank, retiring in 1978 as vice president of branch administration.
During this time, Mr. Mahoney attended Russell Sage College and taught courses at the American Institute of Banking.
He was active with the Yankee Doodle Entertainers and St. Joseph's parish and school.
Mr. Mahoney served in the Pacific during World War II.
His wife, Dorothy Webster Mahoney, whom he married in May 1937, died in December 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Mahoney and James L. Mahoney; a brother, Edward J. Mahoney; a sister, Pauline Mahoney Walther; and a granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, 1620 Third St.

John Pinel
BALLSTON SPA - John S. Pinel, 53, of Juniper Drive, died Saturday at home after being stricken.
Born in Syracuse, Mr. Pinel was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. He had lived at his present address for the last 18 years.
He owned and operated Perfection Group in Ballston Spa.
Survivors include two daughters, Courtney L. Pinel of Saratoga Springs and Samantha L. Pinel of Cohoes; his parents, Edgar and Leatrice Olney Pinel of Scotia; two brothers, Stephen L. Pinel of East Windsor, N.J., and James S. Pinel of West Warwick, R.I.; and a sister, Ellen M. Barnes of Bellevue, Wash.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Ballston Village Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the Wheeler Funeral Home.
Lena Mereness
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Miss Lena C. Mereness, 89, of the Wesley Health Care Center, formerly of Sharon Springs, died Friday after a short illness.
Miss Mereness was born in Sharon Springs. She attended Green Mountain College and Boston University and did graduate work at the Garrett Biblical Institute and Albany State College for Teachers.
Miss Mereness was active in Christian education at the First United Methodist Church in Schenectady, and in Cambridge, Ohio, and Shelby, Ohio.
She worked on the editorial staff of the Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, Tenn., from 1961 until her retirement in 1976.
Miss Mereness moved to the Embury Apartments in 1991 and to the Wesley Health Care Center in 1999.
She was a member of the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church and its Ruth Circle, Loyalty Circle and Vespers.
She also taught self-help classes for the Arthritis Foundation for several years.
Survivors include a sister, Sadie Short of Colonie.
Miss Mereness made an anatomical gift to Albany Medical College.
A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the Wesley Health Care Center, Lawrence Street.
A family reunion memorial service will be held June 2 at the Sharon Reformed Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 603 State St., Schenectady; or to the Sharon Reformed Church, Route 10, Sharon Springs; or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1717 Central Ave., Suite 105, Albany.

Mabel Wertman
COLONIE - Mrs. Mabel Wertman, 93, of the Albany County Nursing Home, died at the home Friday after a long illness.
Mrs. Wertman was born and educated in Middleburgh. She had lived in Colonie since 1931.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Loudonville and a former member of the Lutheran League of Women.
Mrs. Wertman was a life member of the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She was married to Howard C. Wertman until his death.
Survivors include three sons, Howard R. Wertman and Roger D. Wertman, both of Latham, and Robert W. Wertman of Guilderland; two sisters, Jennie Messerle and Myrtle Miller, both of Albany; a brother, Ted Barkman of East Berne; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Memory's Garden.
