Gene Ray
Died September 22, 2002
Services for Gene E. Ray, 77, who died Sept. 22 in Las Vegas, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Pahrump Family Mortuary chapel, with burial following at 1:20 p.m. in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial cemetery, Boulder City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel.
She was born May 7, 1925, in Bayfield, Wis. She worked as a secretary in a casino before retiring in 1990, and she moved to Pahrump from Las Vegas five years ago. She belonged to the Catholic Church.
Sons Gerald Maines of Las Vegas and Tharonce Maines and Greg Maines of Pahrump, friend and companion Ray Gellner, sisters Janet Pickering of Pahrump and Lois Tiskim and Wanda Harrar, both of Wisconsin, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive her.
Daughter Marsha Maines preceded her in death. (9/22/02)
Alfred Opp
Died September 21, 2002
Private family services have been held for Alfred Paul Opp, 94, who died Sept. 21 in Las Vegas.
He was born Feb. 26, 1908, in Sterling, N.D. He served in the armed forces during World War II, then worked as an insurance broker for Lloyds of London. He came to Pahrump in June from Anchorage, Alaska.
Niece Molly Johnson survives him.

Nancy Brunker
Nancy Dew Brunker, 49, died Jan. 18 in Pahrump.
She was born April 30, 1954 and lived in Utah until 1995. She married
Blaine Brunker April 17, 1982, and they moved to Pahrump in 1997.
She was an exceptional horsewoman and trainer with many top ten AQHA World Champions in jumping, working hunter and hunter hack. During the past year, she was riding and training again. She brought out the best in those she taught: horses, dogs and people alike.
She was a companion to her husband, Blaine; a wonderful mother to her children, Dusty, Sue, Dawnette, Dee, Capitan and Sunny; a mentor and a friend. (1/18/04)
Pat Kaye
No services will be held for Pat "The Brat" Kaye, 48, who died Jan. 23 in Las Vegas.
She was born Oct. 2, 1955 in Oshkosh, Wisc., and was a resident of Pahrump for eight years. She was a homemaker.
Her sons Kris Kaye and Dane Tomasko of Las Vegas; daughters Jazlyn Giguere of Pahrump and Deja Giguere of Las Vegas survive her.

Elmo Larason
Visitation for Elmo "Slim" Larason, 90, who died Jan. 22 in Las Vegas, will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Bunkers Mortuary in Las Vegas. Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday.
He was born Dec. 9, 1913 in Oklahoma City and was a resident of Pahrump since 2000.
He was a truck driver and a member of Teamsters Local 631 from 1939 to 1984.
His wife Shirley of Pahrump; sons Gordon Lee Larason, Jack D. Larason, both of Nevada, Charles E. Banks and Lynn V. Welch, both of Las Vegas; daughter Dianne L. Land of Las Vegas; brother Charles Larason of Golden Valley, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren survive him.

Marion Wilkins
Private family services will be held for Marion M. Wilkins, 94, who died March 2 in Pahrump.
She was born Dec. 9, 1909, and was a resident of Pahrump for seven years, coming from Elko.
She worked as an X-ray technician until retiring in 1977.
Her husband Louie D. Wilkins of Pahrump; daughter Mardell Wilkins of Pahrump; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren survive her.
A son preceded her in death.

Erma Kunz
Services have been held for Erma Sarah (Sally) Floyd Kunz, 93, who died Feb. 25.
The youngest of 10 children, she was born Feb. 14, 1911 to Lyman Harvey Floyd and Maretta Charlotta Nelson in Driggs, Idaho.
She was a resident of Pahrump for 35 years, retiring as a teacher from the Nye County School District.
Her children Victor Kunz, Jr., Vicci Hartsfield, Merry Walsh and Charles Kunz; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren survive her. (2/25/04)
Willima McGillivray
A memorial service for Willima "Billie" McGillivray, 96, who died Feb. 27 in Beatty, will be held at 11 a.m. March 13 at the Beatty Community Church with Pastor Jeff Taguchi presiding.
She was born Sept. 6, 1908 in Nunn, Colo., and was a resident of Beatty.
Her sons Jon McGillivray of Beatty and Sim Simpson of Grants Pass, Ore.; sisters Vera Keeney of Alhambra, Calif. and Faye Rice of San Diego; and many nieces and nephews survive her.
Her husband Ray McGillivray preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beatty Medical Clinic and Beatty Volunteer Ambulance Service. An account has been set up at Bank of America, Main Street and Second, in Beatty.

Mark Rabon
Mark S. Rabon, 49, died peacefully May 25, 2004 in Las Vegas while in the company of his incredible family and many cherished friends.
He was born Dec. 18, 1954 in Kansas City, Kan.
A successful local businessman who owned Sun Valley Homes and Canyon Ridge Homes in Pahrump, Mark was a resident of Pahrump and Las Vegas for over 25 years.
His wife Dawn; his father, Charles; brother Mike; sisters Cecilia and Jamie and sons Sean and John survive him.
Mark was an incredible husband and true friend to many who will miss him dearly.
He was a motorcycle and racing enthusiast who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He gave from his heart and walked side-by-side with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mark, we will miss you and forever love you.
A memorial service will be held at the Calvada duck ponds at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Samual Dismukes
Graveside services for Samual (Sam) A. Dismukes, 86, who died May 23 in Hemet, Calif., will be held at 1 p.m. today at Rose Hills Mortuary in Whittier, Calif. Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 650 S. Blagg Road.
He was born June 15, 1917 in Des Moines, Iowa and was a 22-year resident of Pahrump.
He worked as a power station operator for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power until retiring. He was the founder and a charter member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
His wife Lorna of Hemet, Calif.; children Don Dismukes of Los Angeles, Linda Johnson of Texas and Betty Thomas of Oklahoma; stepchildren Wes White of Marietta, Calif., Bill White of Pahrump and Lorene Anderson of Yorktown, Va.; brother Ed Dismukes of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren survive him.

Clifford Fearon
A memorial service for Clifford Joseph Fearon, 73, who died May 22 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Christ the King Catholic Church in Las Vegas.
He was born Jan. 15, 1931 in Hanford, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump for one year, coming from Washington.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He retired in January 1996.
His wife Patti Fearon; daughters Sandy and Debbie; son Kenneth; and brothers Leroy Fearon and Richard Fearon, survive him.

Gregory Fisher
A memorial service will be held in Grand Rapids, Mich., for Gregory James Fisher, 18, who died May 21.
His adoptive parents Gilbert and Barbara Fisher; paternal father Patrick; brother Jason; sisters Monica of Michigan and Christina of Tennessee; and several aunts and uncles survive him. (5/21/04)
