Kerry Riley McDole
A funeral for Kerry Riley McDole, 47, a Gardnerville resident for the past 12 years, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Minden.
Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Mr. McDole died Dec. 19, 2004, at home. He was born March 23, 1957, in Newton, N.J., to Lewis and Eleanor McDole.
He graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Winnemucca.
Mr. McDole worked with Sierra Pacific Power Co. at the North Valmy Station for 11 years and was an engineer from 1992 to 1995 at Bently Nevada Corp. He enjoyed time with his family. His hobbies included ham radio, building model engines and his dog, Uchi. He was a member of the LDS Church.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Among his survivors are his wife, Susan of Gardnerville; son, Thoren and daughter, Katie McDole, both of Seattle; mother and brother, Kevin, both of Sparta, N.J.; and sisters Maureen Devito of Eatontown, N.J., Molly Weitz of Springfield, Va., and Mayra Herdman of Newton.
Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

Louis J. 'Chink' Klufts
Louis J. "Chink" Klufts, 83, a Carson City resident for the past 46 years, died Dec. 17, 2004, at home.
He was born July 6, 1921, in Lawrence, Mass., to Adolph and Louise Medauer Klufts.
He attended high school in Napa, Calif.
He married Betty Oliver on Sept. 9, 1946, in Reno. She preceded him in death June 12, 1998.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Napa for 11 years.
Mr. Klufts was head cook at the Stewart Indian School for 20 years. After retiring in 1978, he moved to Topaz Ranch Estates.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Among his survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law Theresa and William Field of Carson City and Tammy and John Ray of Folsom, Calif.; sister, Mary Klufts of Massachusetts; brothers Edward of Manchester, N.H., and Joseph of Salem, N.H.; grandchildren Kimberly Puzey, Kerry Field, Kelly Swain and Nicole Ray; and great-grandchildren Brittany, Samantha and Zachary Puzey and Ryan M. and Sienna Swain.
At his request, no service will be held.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.

Audrey E. Allman
Audrey E. Allman, 74, a Gardnerville resident for the past 13 years, died Dec. 9, 2004, at her home. She was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Lincoln, Neb., to I.R. and Marion Miles Townsend.
She was raised in Cheyenne, Wyo., and graduated from Cheyenne High School.
She also completed two years of business school.
She married Albert E. Allman.
Mrs. Allman was a homemaker. She traveled throughout the United States and to many parts of the world.
Among her survivors are her husband of 55 years; son, David P.; and daughter, Lynda L. Allman.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Daniel Thompson Barringer Jr.
Daniel T. Barringer Jr., 73, a Topaz Ranch Estates resident for the past 11 years, died Dec. 16, 2004, from complications related to cancer.
He was born April 6, 1931, in Glens Falls, N.Y., to Daniel and Frances Barringer.
He served in the U.S. Army for 24 years and was awarded a Purple Heart and numerous other commendations.
Mr. Barringer spent 10 years in civil service, participating in prototype testing and training development for the Avenger weapon system.
He was an avid football fan and enjoyed both college and professional games. He loved his work, family and pets.
Among his survivors are his wife, Carol; sister, Frances of Watervliet, N.Y.; son and daughter -in-law Dan and Theresa of Dallas; son Richard of Topaz Ranch Estates; and granddaughters Olivia and Victoria.

Ann M. Pottenger
A memorial celebration for Ann M. Pottenger, 73, a Minden resident for the past 13 years, will be from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Jan. 6, 2005, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City.
Mrs. Pottenger died Dec. 4, 2004, at home after a brief illness. She was born March 5, 1931, in Long Beach, Calif., to Arnold W. and Harriott Ann "NE" Wheelihan McKechnie.
Before moving to Minden, she lived in Arcadia, Calif.
Mrs. Pottenger was a librarian.
Among her survivors are her husband, Robert of Minden; sons John Jacobson of Houston and Will Harris of Yakima, Wash.; daughter, Jody Manuele of Phoenix; stepdaughters Maile Bales of Minden and Julie Clare of Temecula, Calif.; brother, Arnold W. McKechnie of Maryland; sisters Marion Flynn of Carson City and Marjorie Hughes of Arcadia; and 13 grandchildren.

Clyde 'Butch' Wade
A service for Clyde "Butch Wade, 67, a lifelong resident of Dresslerville, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Living Word Fellowship, 824 P'baul, Dresslerville.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Living Word Fellowship.
Mr. Wade died Dec. 13, 2004, at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe.
He was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Dresslerville to Cecil and Nancy Pitts Wade.
Mr. Wade was a cowboy and a laborer. He worked at various ranches in the Carson Valley area, and was an independent woodcutter in his later years. He loved the Pine Nut Mountains and spent a lot of time either picking pine nuts or cutting wood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Alburn Bob, Leighton Palmer and Delbert Simpson; and sister Lorraine Luna.
Among his survivors are his sisters Marie Kizer and Shirley Wade; brother-in-law, Vernell Frank of Dresslerville; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at the Woodfords Cemetery in Woodfords with dinner following at the Dresslerville Gym.

Patty H. Vecchione
Patty H. Vecchione, 81, died Dec. 13, 2004, in Reno, after a long-term illness.
She was born Dec. 28, 1922.
She was a talented pianist and organist and entertained people from Oakland, Calif., to Seattle, to the Bucket of Blood Saloon in Virginia City.
Among her survivors are her children Sue, Thom and Bob; and seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Vecchione will be cremated, returned to Renton, Wash., and placed next to her husband, Tony.

Laury M. Lewis
A celebration of life for Laury M. Lewis, 65, a Carson City resident for the past 22 years, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mr. Lewis died Dec. 14, 2004, of an apparent heart attack. He was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Lewisville, Idaho, to Edythe and Alva Lewis.
He graduated from Blackfoot High School in Blackfoot, Idaho, and served in the West Spanish American mission.
He graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, receiving his CPA designation, then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in accounting.
He then accepted a senior position with the state of Montana.
After moving to Carson City in 1982, he was the general manager of the State Industrial Insurance System until 1991. He married Marilyn Tatro Paoli in 1992, and they worked together at their State Farm Insurance agency.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife, Marilyn; daughters and son-in-laws Cheryl and Rick Grey of Helena, Mont., Julie and Bill Shaw of Wentzville, Mo., daughter, Jennifer Lewis of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law, and Lisa and John Pelayo of Danville, Calif.; son Barry Lewis of Kent, Wash.; daughter Juliana Paoli of La Jolla, Calif.; sister, Marilyn Shoemaker of Salt Lake City, and her children Brian, Scott and Valerie; and grandchildren Ashley and Aubrey Lewis, Mike and Kelsey Grey, Hayley, Katie, Calvin and Lauryn Shaw and Kayla Pelayo.

Sidne R. 'Syd' Brown
Sidne R. "Syd" Brown, 60, a Carson City resident for the past 24 years, died Dec. 10, 2004, at Washoe Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Illinois.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her father.
Among her survivors are her husband of 42 years, Joe of Carson City; sons Joe of Utah and Michael of Carson City; daughter, Patricia Brown of Dallas; stepbrothers Lawrence Ramsey and William Ramsey, both of Virginia, and David Ramsey of Ohio; sister, Claire Robbs of Canton, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Loretta R. Brown
A memorial service for Loretta R. Brown, 74, a Gardnerville resident for the past year, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Brown died Dec. 12, 2004, at Carson Valley Medical Center.
She was born April 25, 1930, in Fredricksburg, Calif., to Earnhart and Rose Pauline Cook Bassman.
She graduated from Douglas High School and attended one year of business college.
Mrs. Brown was raised in Fredricksburg and lived in Gardnerville, Arizona, Coleville, Calif., then Gardnerville.
She married Floyd Brown Sept. 7, 1952, in Reno. He preceded her in death.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Coleville for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Bridgeport, Calif.. and the Antelope Valley Women's Club for many years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a brother.
Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Marilyn of Marysville, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Lanette and John Vannoy of Coleville; sister, Lorraine of Medford, Ore.; brother, Wayne Bassman of Oregon; aunt, Jean Allen of Spokane, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
