Elisha Marie Lopez
Elisha was 28 years old when she passed away on Aug. 13, 2006.
She was born in Tacoma, Wash., May 25, 1978 and attended Truckee High School. She lived most of her life as an Incline resident.
Elisha spent most of her life watching children as she loved kids very much. She loved Christmas very much and would listen to Christmas music year-round.
She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Grace, and both grandparents. She is survived by her parents Mike and Patty Drost, her sisters Elizabeth and Shandra, her brother Mike, her husband Bill Lopez, her daughter Ashley and her son Wyatt.
She will be missed most by her husband Bill and their 6-year-old son Wyatt.
A trust fund has been set up for her son Wyatt at the Incline Village Wells Fargo Bank, "The Wyatt Lopez Benefit Fund."

Bert G. Barnett
Funeral services were conducted in Los Angeles, Calif., for Bert G. Barnett, who died peacefully at his home in South Lake Tahoe Nov. 13, 2004, as a result of ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disorder. He was 82.
Dennis L. Schlagel
A celebration of life memorial service will take place Nov. 7 aboard the Tahoe Queen for Dennis Lee Schlagel, who died Oct. 31, 2004. He was born in Longmont, Colo., and will be remembered for his True Cowboy Spirit.
Ruth Maria Metoyer
A memorial service will take place this spring at South Lake Tahoe for Ruth Maria Metoyer, who died Oct. 25, 2004, at Lincoln, Calif., following a long battle with cancer. She was 71.
Rose C. Lee
A celebration of life will take place Nov. 12 for Rose C. Lee, who died Oct. 21, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, Nev. She was 88.
Moussja Clason
At her request no public service will be conducted for Moussja Clason, who died Oct. 29, 2003, at her residence in Malden, Ill. She was 103.
Robert C. Romansky
Private family services are planned for Robert Carl Romansky, who died Oct. 31, 2004, at Pittsburg, Calif., following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 45.
Richard 'Rick' Matthews
A celebration of life will take place Sunday for Richard B. "Rick" Matthews, who lost his 14-month battle with intravascular lymphoma on June 17, 2006, at the University of California, San Francisco. He was 50.
Rick was born Jan. 24, 1956, in Bournemouth, England, and became a United States citizen in 1971. He was a graduate of Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, Calif. He earned an associate's degree from Lake Tahoe Community College and a bachelor of arts degree in environmental studies from Sacramento State University.
Rick moved to Lake Tahoe in 1977 because of his passion for snow skiing. He also loved mountain biking, hiking, swimming, camping with his family, chess, soccer and canoeing. He loved coaching his daughter Molly's soccer team and was a respected AYSO coach and referee for many years. He was the proud owner of the Sheet Metal Shop in South Lake Tahoe. Rick was a loving and devoted father.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 22 years, Jennifer; daughters, Amanda, Andrea and Molly; mum, Anne Matthews; brothers, Christopher and Marty Matthews; sister, Joanne Menorca; nieces, Stephanie Matthews and Natalie Robison; and nephews, Christopher Matthews Jr., Alex Menorca Jr., A.J. Menorca and Timothy Menorca. He will be forever missed by his best friend, Joe Tapia, and the Tapia family. He was preceded in death by his many beloved cats and his ever-faithful dogs, Burt and Luke.
A celebration of Rick's life will begin at noon Sunday at the Truckee River bridge on Elks Club Drive in Meyers.
Betty Anne Westphal
Services will take place June 24 for Betty Anne Westphal, who died Feb. 8, 2006, under hospice care at the home of her son, Ron Westphal, in Calaveras County, Calif.
Betty was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Vallejo, Calif., and was a high school graduate. She had been a 19-year resident of South Lake Tahoe and Stateline. Betty was employed as a keno supervisor for 11 years at Caesars Tahoe and spoke often of her friends and co-workers, whom she held in high regard. She was a dedicated sports mom and was always "on board" for whatever her family wanted to do.
She loved to crochet and create needlework.
She is survived by her sons, Ben Westphal of Santa Cruz, Calif., Rod Westphal of Cortez, Colo., and Ron Westphal of Topaz, Nev.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy B. Westphal; and son, Michael Westphal.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
Sandra Jean Hoffman "Sandi"
Services will take place Thursday for Sandra Jean "Sandi" Hoffman, who died May 23, 2006, in South Lake Tahoe.
Sandi was born Dec. 23, 1949, in Oakland, Calif. She worked as an usher at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. She enjoyed being with close friends and family and also playing with her pet cat, Putty Cat.
Sandi was a great friend to those she knew and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her boyfriend, Paul Starr.
She was predeceased by father, Walter; mother, Joy; brother, Steven; and daughter, Michele.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ruth Wallace of Unity at the Lake beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
Lenore Fahey
Memorial services will take place Friday for Lenore Lynn Fahey, 52, who passed away April 25, 2007, in her Lake Tahoe home.
Lenore, the youngest daughter of James and Lorraine Fahey, was born July 4, 1954, in San Francisco, Calif. She graduated from Santa Rosa High School, and because of her love for cooking, later went on to earn a culinary degree from Lake Tahoe Community College. There was nothing more important to Lenore than her family, friends, and pets. She would always go the extra mile to put a smile on the face of everyone she knew. Lenore was famous for adopting every stray dog and cat without a home. She loved animals just as much as she loved people. Lenore was one of the most generous and caring people this world has ever seen. She will be missed greatly but never forgotten.
Lenore is survived by her husband, Jim Patterson; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Rebecca Beaman; son, Marty Beaman; brother and sister-in-law, James and Kay Fahey; sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Pat O'Brien; stepchildren, Jim Patterson and his wife Laura, Debbie Patterson, Darren Patterson and Karen Mayo; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; five cats and two new adopted puppies, Pearl and Tahoma.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, 1776 Highway 50, Glenbrook.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of the Lake /Valley or the Cancer Research Institute.
John R. Knight
Funeral services will take place in Illinois on Saturday for John R. Knight, 47, who passed away April 29, 2007, following an accidental fall from the roof of his home in South Lake Tahoe while working on the rain gutters.
John was born Jan. 28, 1960, in Chicago, Ill. He graduated with honors from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., in 1982, and received a master's degree from Loyola University in Chicago in 1985. His successful business career brought him to reside in many locations such as Toronto, London, and most recently, Copenhagen, where he was named chief operations officer of the ILVA home furnishings corporation in June 2003. Following completion of his work in Copenhagen, Denmark, John had resided for the past two years with his brother, Paul Knight, in South Lake Tahoe.
John is survived by his daughter, Alden; son, Samuel; brother, Paul; and parents, James and Rina.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Berwyn-Adolph Funeral Home, 2921 South Harlem Ave., Berwyn, Ill. The funeral procession will convene at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. Saturday and the funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Leonard's Catholic Church, 3322 South Clarence Ave., in Berwyn. Following the service there will be a procession to the graveside service at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 South Wolf Road in Hillside, Ill.

Kenith Ray Sample
A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Zephyr Cove Pavilion A, for Kenith Ray Sample, 58, of Dayton, Nev., who died June 17, 2007, at his residence following his battle with cancer.
Ken was born and raised in Gridley, Calif., before moving to South Lake Tahoe, where he lived for three years before moving to Dayton. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971, and after serving in Vietnam was honorably discharged. He worked at MontBleu Casino in the security department. Ken enjoyed spending time with his wife and their dog, Charlotte, going to the ocean, and collecting alien memorabilia. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He could light up your life with just his smile.
Survivors include his wife of four years, Deborah Sample of Dayton; mother Etta Sample of Gridley; daughters, Patty Hadley of Puyallup, Wash., and Sara Hutchison of Sumner, Wash.; brothers, Harold Sample of Richvale, Calif., and Ron Sample of Antioch, Calif.; sister, Darlene Gilman of Zenia Calif.; stepson, Mike Eatherton of Hampstead N.C.; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; his beloved dog, Charlotte; and his in-laws, the Crawford family. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Sample, and brother, Dwight Sample.

Virginia 'Ginny' Henry
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Genoa Town Park, for longtime Genoa resident Virginia "Ginny" Henry, 89, who died May 27, 2007, after battling lymphoma for several months.
Mrs. Henry was born April 20, 1918, in Belvedere, Ill., to Alfred and Winifred Meyers. Her family moved to Pasadena, Calif., in 1932, and she graduated as a business major from Pasadena Junior College in 1939. She went to work for the Pasadena Board of Education and married David James "Jim" Henry. At the onset of World War II she became a medical receptionist at the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Burbank, Calif., remaining there until 1953. During the 1950s and '60s she was a homemaker, raising her children, and helping with the office work at her husband's tool manufacturing business. In 1967 the family moved to Genoa and after her children had grown, she returned to work at the Sprouse Reitz Department store in Carson City, where she remained for 15 years.
Throughout her life she cultivated many close friendships, some lasting more than 70 years. Always a very creative and talented individual, she loved embroidery and the textile arts, cooking and gardening. She was especially proud of her purple iris patch, canned peaches and peach jam made from her own trees. For more than 30 years she produced hundreds of pounds of divinity candy for Genoa's Candy Dance, earning herself the moniker "Divinity Queen."
Mrs. Henry is survived by her children, Jim of Reno, Nev., Bill of Oakland, Calif.; and Faye of Port Henry, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers and sisters. Eleanor 'Dot' St. Michel
Private family graveside services are planned at Happy Homestead Cemetery for Eleanor "Dot" St. Michel, who passed away June 29, 2007, in Carson City, Nev. She was 87.
Dot was born Jan. 1, 1920, in Lewiston, Maine, to Frank Howe and Mable Lane. A 23-year resident of South Lake Tahoe, she lived in Southern California for many years and was the office manager the for Los Angeles City School District for 15 years. Dot devoted her life to her family.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lucinda St. Michel of South Lake Tahoe and John and Carrie St. Michel of Acton, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Scott Turner of Spartonburg, S.C.; sister, Emeral Stevens of Augusta, Maine; and eight grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
Hartley Westbrook
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson, Calif., for Hartley Westbrook, who passed away July 5, 2007, at his residence in Southhaven, Miss. He was 48.
Hartley was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Modesto, Calif. He was a 1976 graduate of Patterson Senior High School, where he participated in athletics and was involved in FFA. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1982 with a degree in agronomy. Hartley began his 24 years of employment with Harrah's in South Lake Tahoe. In 1991 he moved to Tunica, Miss., where he became assistant casino manager. He enjoyed fishing, working on his home and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Westbrook of Southhaven; son, Darryl Conen of Southhaven; daughters, Marlena Conen-Rines and her husband, Beau of Southhaven, and Jessica Conen of Hattiesburg, Miss.; grandchildren, Mackensey Hopkins and Daeton Rines; parents, Mickey Westbrook of Oxnard, Calif., and Don Westbrook and his wife Ruth of Westley, Calif.; brothers, Donald Westbrook and his wife Sherrie of Reedley, Calif., and Dennis Westbrook of Patterson; sisters, Diana Markum of Gustine, Calif., Peggy Perez and her husband Danny of Westley, Donna Ledford of Oxnard, and Lori Westbrook and her husband Joe Medwick of Rhine Beck, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, Peter, Casie, Raya, Sarah, Lori, Julie, Stephen and Donald III; and many cousins, especially the Chunns and Westbrooks.
