Richard Allen Morse
Richard Allen Morse, age 64, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Hillside Manor in Missoula, Mont.
He was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Mountain City, Nev., to Richard Thomas and Marie Morse. He was raised on the Morse ranch at Wildhorse and went to school in Mountain City and Elko.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
He left the Elko area for Montana and ranched at Kila, Mont., and Hot Springs. He retired from Mountain Water, Colo., in 1997, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his son, Clint; two daughters, Jala and Ashley of Frenchtown, Mont.; his wife ,Kaye of Frenchtown; and a sister, Peggy Landon of Mountain City.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; sisters, Wilma Jean and Besy Glennon; and one son, Troy Morse.
At his request no service will be held following cremation.
Bertha 'Bert' S. Cordova
"Bert" went peacefully to be with her maker early Thursday morning on July 31, 2003.
Bert was born on June 7, 1943, to Victor and Lupita Silva, in Mora, N.M.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew Cordova, of Elko, Nev.; one daughter, Diana Y. Cordova, of Reno, Nev.; two sons, Mark A. Cordova of Sante Fe, N.M. and Jason C. Cordova of the family home; one grandson, Brandon Cordova of Sante Fe. She is also survived by her sisters, Carlota Romero of Mora, N.M.; Mabel S. Romero of Santa Fe, N.M.; and Priscilla Silva of Santa Fe, N.M.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Per Bert's wishes she has been cremated and a private family ceremony will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 3 p.m. at the family residence.
Jody Dean Brown
Jody Dean Brown, beloved father, husband and brother, passed on July 26, 2003, at the age of 42.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; son, Joe; his daughter, Aimee; his brother, Jimmy of Battle Mountain; and sister, Mary Kerrigan of Tempe, Ariz.; as well as nieces, nephews and other family members, Terry, Maggy, Mike, Mark, Ken, Jeremy, Becky, Spencer and their wives and children.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Jody was born in Farmington, N.M., and lived most of his life in Phoenix, Ariz., before moving to Elko four years ago. He loved motorcycling, hiking, nature, family and close friends.
Memorial services will be at Burns Funeral Home on Aug. 2, 2003, at 10 a.m. Pastor Dusoleil will be officiating.
The family has asked that no flowers be sent and anyone who chooses may make a donation to the Jody Brown Memorial Fund, for the future use of his children, at any Wells Fargo Bank, or plant a tree at the Brown home or make a donation to the charity of their choice in his name.
Reception to follow at the Brown family home in Spring Creek at 559 Poplar Drive.
Frank Vitale
Frank Vitale, 73, longtime resident of Elko County, died Aug. 8, 2003, at his Mountain City home of natural causes after a long illness.
Frank was born Nov. 9, 1929, in St. Louis, Mo., to Anthony and Augustine Vitale. He was a bar and nightclub owner in the St. Louis area until he moved to Elko County in the early 1960s. He worked as a bartender in Jackpot, Wendover and Elko. He moved to Mountain City in 1969 to do ranch work for Gus and Marge Vitale. In 1971 Frank and Millie Lenard opened the O'mera's Bar in Mountain City, which burneddown a couple of years later, then they replaced it with the Trailer Bar. Frank and Millie married in 1973, and operated the Trailer Bar until their retirement in 1993.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Augustine; and two brothers, Damian and Anthony.
He is survived by his wife, Millie, of Mountain City; daughter, Diane Sypnicusk, of Louisville, Texas; son, Anthony "Red" Vitale of Mountain City; stepdaughter, Linda White, of Susanville, Calif.; sisters, Grace Simon and Teresa Thomas of St. Louis; brothers, Gus Vitale, of Elko, Joe Vitale of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Emanuel Vitale of St. Louis.
Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elko.
The family requests instead of flowers, donations should be made to the Community Church in Mountain City, Nev. Donations may be sent in care of Melissa Prall, P.O. Box 146, Mountain City, NV 89831.

The memorial service for Sharon DiGrazia will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10010 Corona NE in Albuquerque, N.M.
