Dorothy Eddy
Dorothy Eddy, 90 of Pahrump, passed away Sept. 11, 2007 in Las Vegas.
She was born March 31, 1917 in East Liverpool, Ohio.
She was a resident of Pahrump for seven years, having come from Port Charlotte, Fla.
Her memberships included the Nevada Council for the Blind, and being of the Christian faith, she was a member of Pahrump Community Church.
Daughter, Joyce Tarrant of Pahrump; sister-in-law, Nancy Eddy of Medina, Ohio; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive her.
The services will be held in Florida. (09/11/07)
Harold Hunt
Harold William Hunt, 88, of Pahrump passed away Sept. 11, 2007 in Las Vegas.
Hew was born Jan. 12, 1919 in Oregon and was a 12 year resident of Pahrump, having come from Oregon.
Hunt worked in construction and held club or organization memberships involving hunting, gold mining, fishing, metal detection and photography.
His wife, Florine Hunt of Pahrump; sons, Robert, Roy and Allen Hunt all of California; daughter, Kathy Garrett of Oregon; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren survive him.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Services will be held at noon, Sept. 15 at Pahrump Family Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. (09/09/07)
Annie Monahan
Annie Marie Monahan, 66, of Pahrump, passed away Sept. 6, 2007.
She was born Jan. 16, 1940 in Chicago Ill. and spent the last 5 years in Pahrump, having come from Peoria, Ariz.
She worked as a printing coordinator.
Annie was a devoted, loving wife and mother; often called the "backbone" of the family.
She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Her husband, Victor Monahan, sons, Shannon (Sandra) Monahan of Glendale, Ariz. and Bruce Monahan of Pahrump; daughters, Diane (Kevin) Leslie , Stephanie (Angelo) Crivelli, both of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Mikeanne (Tim) Konop of Glendora, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive her.
No services are scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Pahrump in Annie's name. (09/06/07)
Barbara Raehn
Barbara Lee Raehn, 72, of Pahrump, passed away Sept. 6, 2007.
She was born Nov. 30, 1934.
She was a homemaker, a member of American Trakehner Association, of the Christian faith and a four-year resident of Pahrump having come from Hesperia, Calif.
Daughters, Wendy Van Engen of Pahrump and Cindy Varga of Mooresville, Ind. and four grandchildren survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her mother.
The memorial service was help Sept. 8 in Pahrump. She will be laid to rest in Victorville, Calif. (09/06/07)
Bernadine Sebastianelli
Bernadine Sebastianelli, 84, passed away Aug. 31, 2007 in Las Vegas.
She was born May 20, 1923 in Sand Hill, Ky. and lived in Pahrump for one year, having come from Desert Hot Springs, Calif.
Sebastianelli retired in 1984 from Hughes Aircraft where she worked as an analyst.
Her club memberships included the Elks, Red Hatters, Sons of Italy and she was a volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Elizabeth Church and Eucharist Ministry.
Sons, Jerry and Danny Brobst of Las Vegas, Robert Brobst of San Diego, Calif. and Larry Brobst of Blachey, Ore.; daughter, Susan Ikegami of Pahrump; stepson, Dennis Sebastianelli of South Jordan, Utah; ten grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nino Sebastianelli.
Services are at 2 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. (08/31/07)
Edward Barszcz, Jr.
Edward Joseph Barszcz, Jr., 64, passed away in his sleep Sept. 10, 2007.
He was born Sept. 8, 1943 in Exeter, Calif., and was the son of long-time Pahrump residents, Edward and Ferne Barszcz. Both have preceded him in death.
He retired from the casino industry in Las Vegas and moved to San Felipe, Mexico two years ago.
Barszcz served honorably in the Army and was a veteran of Vietnam.
His loving wife, Laurie; sister, Darlene (John) O'Mara; brother Michael Barszcz and numerous nephews and great nieces survive him. (09/10/07)
Harold Taylor
Harold "Red" Taylor, formerly of Pahrump, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at his home in Ashdown, Ariz.
Taylor was born July 27, 1944, in Paterson, N.J. where he was a member of the American Legion, a volunteer with Nevada County Sheriff's Department and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Taylor of Ashdown, Ariz.; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Steven May of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and WIlma Taylor of Prescott, Ariz.; two nephews, Kevin Taylor of Prescott, Ariz., and Michael Taylor of Elmwood Park, N.J. and one niece, Christina Taylor of Bloomfield, N.J.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the American Legion, Ashdown. Burial will be in Arlington cemetery, Arlington, Va., on Oct. 9, under direction of Madden Funeral Home. (09/06/07)
Lisa Flake
Lisa J. Flake, 55, of Pahrump, passed away Sept. 10, 2007.
She was born Feb. 26, 1952 in New York, N.Y. and was a three year resident of Pahrump, having come from Las Vegas.
Flake worked as an accountant for Bisa Insurance and she was a member of Akita Rescue of America. She was of the Christian faith.
Husband, William Flake; son, Michael Flake; daughter-in-law, Tina Flake and two grandchildren survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Stan Falk.
Memorial services are 3 p.m., Sept. 14 at Pahrump Family Mortuary. (09/10/07)
Thomas Platt
Thomas Floyd Platt, 36, passed away Sept. 10, 2007.
He was born June 25, 1971 in Riverside, Calif. and was a five year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.
Platt was the Director of a nursing home. His was class president of UNLV in 2000, and earned a Bachelors degree at UNLV in 2007.
He was a very loving father.
Mother, Patricia Platt; father, Blaine Platt; son, Tanner Michael Zambito and sister, Lisa Anne Basson survive him.
Services will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Sept. 14 at Evergreen at Pahrump. (09/10/07)
Patricia Southall
Patricia Southall of Pahrump passed away August 31, 2007 in Las Vegas.
She was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Hornersville, Mo.
Her step-daughter, Cathy Jones; three grandsons, Charles, Bill and David Neuwohner; three great-grandsons; sister, Lucille Davison; brothers, Bill, Theodore and Tim Nobles; a step-sister, step-brother, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends survive her, loved her, and will not forget her. Alice Ling
Alice Ling, 79, formerly of Pahrump, passed away April 26, 2007 in Portland, Oregon.
She was born July 5, 1928 in Chassli, Idaho.
She and her husband Larry both worked for Molycorp in Mountain Pass, Calif.
Upon retirement, they moved to Pahrump and built an adobe home with a solar oven.
Alice attended the Methodist Church and she was a member of the Republican Women's Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Daughter, Larie Ling and son, Alan Ling, both of Portland, Ore.; sister, Beth O'Brien of New Mexico and brother, Jim Bennett of Challis, Idaho survive her.
Her husband Larry, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Pahrump Masonic Lodge. (04/26/07)
