James Glen Pond
James Glen Pond was born in Grand Junction, Colo., Oct. 12, 1984, and passed away at his home in Spring Creek, Nev., on May 10, 2004.
James was the son of Jim and Marcella Pond. He has two sisters, Jennifer (Ken) Zimmerman of Reno, Nev., and Stephanie Shrum (Tom Welty) of Boise, Idaho. James had one niece, Megan Gast, of Boise, Idaho.
He had a love for sports and his family.
Other survivors include his maternal grandparents, Lester and Doris Clark of Grand Junction; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
His paternal grandparents, Emmett and Marjorie Pond, are deceased.
A private service was held on May 13, 2004.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Spring Creek High School Athletic Department, Spring Creek, Nev.
Alice F. Wallace
Alice F. Wallace, 71, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at her home of natural causes. Private family committal services will be held in Elko, Nev. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Daly-Leach Chapel.
Frank Hughes
Frank Hughes died May 12, 2004, at his home following a long illness.
Frank was born May 18, 1942, in Seattle, Wash. He served with the U.S. Army from May 1964 until January 1970.
He moved to Elko in 1984 where he thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, baseball and cats.
Frank will be missed by all his family and friends. He also will be deeply missed by his cat, "Tom."
He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, "Frankie" Hughes.
He is survived by another brother, Randall Hughes, of Washington; his son, Aaron Hughes, and daughter-in-law, Julie. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Alyssa, Madison and Austin Hughes, of Spring Creek.
May God bless you Dad, we will miss you.

Marie "Mary" Barbara Smith
Marie "Mary" Barbara Smith, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died at her home Thursday, May 13, 2004.
Mary was born March 21, 1921, at Elko, Nev., a daughter of Ysidro Urriola and Esperanza Elu Urriola. She attended schools in Jack Creek, Nev., and Elko, Nev. She then attended Heneger's Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mary married George William "Billy" Smith in Elko, Nev. He preceded her in death. She then married Dale Burkhalter in Rigby, Idaho, and, following his death, she married Orlando Smith Aug. 23, 2001. He also preceded her in death.
Mary was a member of the Rigby Community Presbyterian Church and served several times on session as an Elder and as a Deacon. She was active with the Presbyterian Women. She also served as treasurer for the church for a number of years.
She served on the Jefferson County Historical Society and Farnsworth T.V. and Pioneer Museum board. She was also a member of the Rolling Russett's R.V. Club.
Mary worked with Billy, her first husband, at the Smith Implement in Rigby, at the George Dental Clinic for a number of years and as an Avon Lady.
She enjoyed playing bridge, painting with water colors, crafts, reading, and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family who will miss her greatly.
Survivors include, two daughters, Diana Marie (Phill) Russell of Orange County, Calif., and Kristie (Edward) Wagner of Idaho Falls; one son, J. Kenny (Toni) Smith of Rigby; one brother, Joseph (Peggy) Urriola of Elko, Nev.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main, Rigby, with Reverend Kristine Blaess officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
Dorian Alexander Shine
Dorian Alexander Shine, infant son of Matthew Alexander and Heather Marie Coutts Shine, died May 18, 2004 at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. Memorial Services may be scheduled at a later date.
