William King

Services for William (Bill) King, 66, who passed away Sept. 29 in Pahrump, will be held at 6 p.m. today at Heritage Bible Church, 3061 E. Heritage Drive.

He was born Jan. 25, 1939 in Atchson, Kan. He has been a resident of Pahrump since 2002, moving from Las Vegas.

He was a general contractor and a member of the following boards: Nye County Federal Impacts advisory board; Nye County Parks & Recreation advisory board; Nevada Test Site Citizens advisory board; Pahrump Regional Planning District Capital Improvements Plan advisory Board; and Town of Pahrump Parks & Recreation advisory board. He was also president and founder of Southern Nye County Trails Partnership and president of the Pahrump Senior Center's board of directors.

His mother Margorie; children Rebekah S. Shores of California, Cassie A. King of Washington, Sam P. (Sharon) King of Nevada, Kristi H. (Geoff) Trickett of Washington, Isaac King of Nevada, and Lane M. King of Nevada; sister Josephine; and three grandchildren survive him.

Donations may be made to the Bill King Trust at Valley Bank, in lieu of flowers.

Irene Pierce

A memorial service for Irene Pierce, 84, who passed away Oct. 1 in Las Vegas, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Preferred RV Resort in Pahrump.

She was born May 22, 1921 in Black Rock, Utah and moved to California as a child. She married her husband Artie in 1949 in Las Vegas and raised her family in the LaGrande, Ore. area before moving to Pahrump in 1989.

She played the violin in church as a teenager. She loved to do crafts and crochet and gave her work to family, friends and acquaintances. She was a wonderful wife and mother who took great pride in her family.

Her husband Artie Gay Pierce II of Pahrump; sons Artie (LaLa) of Tillamook, Ore., Lindsey (Carolyn) Pierce from Summerville, Ore., Ray (Marilyn) Morrison of Pahrump; Roberta and Dale Witherspoon; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren survive her.

Four sisters, two brothers and her parents preceded her in death.

Donations may be made to your local cancer society in lieu of flowers. (10/1/05)

Greg Blosser

A memorial service for Greg Blosser, 55, who passed away Sept. 28 in Las Vegas, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Boulder City at the Veterans Memorial cemetery.

He was born April 18, 1950 in Exeter, Calif. He moved to Nevada in 1955, attended school in Pahrump and graduated from Death Valley High School. After service in the U.S. Navy, he made Las Vegas his home.

He worked as a heavy duty mechanic and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 12. (9/28/05)

Robert Barca

Services for Robert Barca, 51, who passed away Oct. 1, will be held in Reno at a date to be determined.

He was born March 26, 1954 in San Francisco, Calif. He moved to Pahrump three years ago, after living in Reno for many years.

He was a wonderful husband, best friend and a great father. He will be greatly missed.

His wife Sydney McIntyre Barca; daughter Debbie Vaughn; son Richard McIntyre; his mother and sister of Reno; a brother in Washington State; and many nieces and nephews survive him. (10/1/05)

Anthony Stapleton

Services for Anthony James Stapleton, 34, who passed away Oct. 3 in Pahrump, will be held at noon Saturday, with a viewing from 10 a.m. to noon, at Pahrump Family Mortuary.

He was born April 25, 1971 in Boulder City. He was a resident of Pahrump for two years, coming from Las Vegas. He served in the U.S. Army and most recently worked as a pool technician.

His mother Claudia of Pahrump; father Edward Stapleton of Pocatello, Idaho; brothers Leo Stapleton of Pocatello and Michael Stapleton of Las Vegas; daughter Levoix Stapleton of Las Vegas; son Daniel Stapleton of Las Vegas; stepmother Vicke Stapleton of Idaho; and grandmother Gladys Stapleton of Georgia survive him. Benjamin Veloz

Services for Benjamin Mancha Veloz, 70, who passed away Oct. 12 in Las Vegas, were held Oct. 13 at Neptune Society Chapel.

He was born March 29, 1935 in Mexico and was a resident of Pahrump since 1977, moving here from Amargosa Valley. He was a farmer for Hafen Ranch.

His wife of 50 years, Eusevia; ten children; many sisters, brothers and grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren survive him.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (10/12/05)

Mabel Talley

Services for Mabel Rutledge Talley, 87, who passed away Oct. 6, will be held at 1 p.m. today, with a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Palm Mortuary-Eastern in Las Vegas.

She was born July 7, 1918 in Georgia. She was a resident of Pahrump since 1984. She worked in general services and retired from the state of New York.

Her daughter Marcia Talley-Morris of Pahrump; son-in-law Cornelius Morris of Pahrump; grandchildren Wayne and Maurice Morris; and great-grandchild Quannel Morris survive her.

Interment will be at 1 p.m. at the Palm Valley View cemetery in Las Vegas.

Palm Mortuary-Eastern in Las Vegas handled the arrangements. (10/6/05)

Jack Tooley

A memorial service for Jack Wayne Tooley, 67, who passed away Oct. 13 in Pahrump, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Moose Lodge.

He was born Jan. 14, 1938 in Elko. He moved to Pahrump in 1988, coming from Ogden, Utah.

He was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose, The Elks Lodge, The Eagles and The Masonic Lodge.

His wife Evelyn; daughter Traci (Steve); son Michael (Joselyn); step-daughter Kimberly (Karl); sisters Janell and Joann (Ray); brother Jimmy (Marilyn); dad James; seven grandchildren and dog Buster survive him.

His mother preceded him in death.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (10/13/05)

Jerry Clem

Services are pending for Jerry Clem, 86, who passed away Oct. 10 in Pahrump.

She was born Oct. 12, 1919 in Alabama. She was a six-year resident of Pahrump, moving here from Rialto, Calif.

She taught herself many skills, including reading, math and writing. She worked as a seamstress and retired in 1985. She worked for the Catalina Swimwear Company in California. She also worked for a newspaper in Rialto.

She was a special person and loved by all. She spoiled all those close to her heart and will never be forgotten.

Her sisters Johnny "Joan" Bell Rychell of Illinois and Pauline Michael of Jackson, Tenn.; nephews Larry Gaskin of Salinas, Calif., Tony Gaskin of Maryland, Randal Michael of Jackson, Tim Michael of Orlando, Fla., Charles Rychell and Michael Rychell of Illinois; nieces Bonnie Sanders and Tammy Siemeir, of Stockton, Calif., Betty Sanders of Memphis, Tenn., and Donna Litford of Jackson; eight great nephews; seven great nieces; and numerous cousins in Tennessee and Illinois survive her.

Her husband Robert Clem; sons Donald G. and Teddy; sisters Flona Mae and Loretta; brother Henry and her parents John Henry and Ruby Mae preceded her in death.

Cremation was held at Pahrump Family Mortuary. She will join her husband and son at Mountain View cemetery in San Bernardino, Calif., 570 E. Highland Ave. (10/10/05)

Doris Smith

A viewing for Doris M. Smith, 85, who passed away Oct. 22 in Pahrump, will be held from 3-7 p.m. today at Bunker's Eden Vale Memorial Park, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Eternal Hills in Oceanside, Calif.

She was born June 25, 1920 in Haines, Ore. She was a 22 year resident of Pahrump.

Her brothers Fred Coles of Niland, Calif., and Lyle Coles of Red Bluff, Calif.; and sisters Navona Green of Oceanside and Thelma Stevens of Oakridge, Ore. survive her.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Charlotte Nakielski

Services for Charlotte Vera Steinert Nakielski, 86, who passed away Oct. 21, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary.

She was born Aug. 8, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wis. She married her husband Richard there on June 26, 1937 at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. She was past president of the Christian Women's Society of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and retired from the Milwaukee Public School Culinary system.

She will always be remembered as a wonderful, loving and caring woman by her children, sisters, family and friends. She always said, "After 70 you get wisdom and I'm still waiting for mine."

Her daughter Charlotte (Daniel) LeVar; son Gerald (Pebbles) Nakielski; daughter-in-law Patty Nakielski; sisters Louise Johnson and Elsa Heidenrich; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; and many friends survive her.

Her husband Richard Boleslav Joseph Nakielski; son Richard Nakielski; brother Frederick Steinert; sister Henrietta Victor; and her cat Muffin preceded her in death.

Barbara Parker

A memorial service for Barbara Lyn Parker, 50, who passed away Oct. 22, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Neptune Society Chapel, 720 Buol Lane.

She was born May 17, 1955 and moved to Pahrump in 1982, coming from Illinois.

She worked as a nurse's aid. She was a devoted wife and loved life. She lived everyday to the fullest.

Her husband Donald Parker; children Jason and Nick; mother Gay Rocco; siblings Janet Smith, Cathy Weadell, Wesley Weadell and J. Douglas Weadell; in-laws Albert (Paula) Parker and Sherry (Robert) Ocraskinski; uncle Robert Rising; half-brother Keith Parker; half-sister Cathy; and many extended and step family members survive her.

Her father John Weadell preceded her in death.

Ronald Coleman

Private family services will be held for Ronald (Ron) William Coleman, 66, who passed away Oct. 22 in Pahrump.

He was born Jan. 4, 1939 in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years, coming from Running Springs, Calif. He worked for 40 years in the grocery industry.

His wife of nine years Debra W. Coleman; children Kerry (Rob) Dagley, Kelly (Terry) Jensen, Brooke Welch, Jillian Coleman, Leslie (Ryan) Holmes, Miranda (Michael) Miller, Samantha Holmes, Dawn Marie (Josh) Valentine, Chris (Maria) Coleman, Gary (Sharron) Coleman, David (Tasha) Holmes, Michael Holmes and Mitchell Mefferd; mother Kathryn L. Coleman; sister Kathryn Sherpard; 26 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren survive him.

His parents Margaret A. and Harry W. Coleman preceded him in death.
