Dorothy Hinkle
Dorothy (Dolly) Putnam Hinkle, 82, passed away Sept. 8 in Las Vegas.
She was born in New York, but has lived in many places throughout the United States. She settled in Nevada for a period of years several times during her travels and referred to Nevada as home for the last 20 years. She spent her last three years in Pahrump.
Her husband Taylor Hinkle of Las Vegas; sons Will Uhouse of Pahrump; Ed (Denise) Stoner of Florida; granddaughter Dee Dee of Orlando, Fla.; and daughter-in-law Sharon and son-in-law Don, both of Las Vegas, and their families, survive her.

Donald Gulberg
Donald Gulberg, 73, passed away Aug. 31 in Las Vegas.
He was born Sept. 15, 1931 in Chicago, Ill. He moved to Pahrump in 1992 from Washington.
He worked with electronics for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was a member of the Elks Club, Eagles, Moose Lodge, the Masons and the International Metro Car Club.
His wife Gladys; sons Gary Anderson, Bruce and Bryan Gulberg; daughter Kathy Sinn; brother Norman Gulberg; sister Audrey Gulberg; and two grandchildren survive him.

Coy Eden
Coy Lee Allen Eden, 77, passed away Sept. 17 in Pahrump.
He was born Dec. 13, 1927 in Arkansas and lived in Pahrump for one-and-a-half years.
He was a special and loving husband and leaves behind a very large family and a lot of friends who loved him very much. He will always be remembered.
His wife Penney of Pahrump; children Coy Robert, Tooty Ann, Michael Lee William, Rand Allen Thurman, Jeffrey David, Judea Elyse and Candace Marie; brothers Harold, Herman, Leon and Charlie; sisters Wilma, Lorene, Loweda Sue and Leah Jean; and 15 grandchildren survive him. (9/17/05)
Larry Powell
A memorial service for Larry Young Powell, 61, who passed away Sept. 15, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern in Las Vegas.
He was born Sept. 19, 1943, in Tooele, Utah. He moved to Las Vegas in 1970 and began his 30-year career in the home construction industry. For the last several years, he has resided in Pahrump.
He was an active person and loved being with his family and friends. He was an avid football fan and won many chili cook-off competitions. He will be missed very much.
His daughter Larae (Bryan) Knisley; son Thomas Powell; mother Marjorie Powell Stringham; brother Ron (Francie) Powell; sisters Judy Gentry, Renee Powell, Vera Dean and Misti (Stan) Beus; grandson Parker Knisley; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends survive him.

Columbine Martin
Funeral services for Columbine Westbrook Martin, 85, who passed away Sept. 16 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Mo. Visitation will start at 10 a.m.
She was born Oct. 31, 1919 in Elloree, S.C. She worked in various Civil Service jobs and always attended church services.
Her sons William H. Westbrook of Pahrump and Lawrence C. Goddard Jr. of Hickory, N.C.; grandchildren Kristine Wehner, Steven Goddard, Scott Goddard, Diane McGuire and Renee Westbrook; brother Edward H. Rourk of Williston, S.C.; sister Lutitia R. Sox of Lexington, S.C.; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive her.
Her parents John Henry and Mary Louise Seay Rourk; husbands Lawrence C. Goddard, David E. Westbrook and Eugene Martin; brothers James I., John H. and Clarence P. Rourk; and sister Ruth R. Thweatt preceded her in death. (9/16/05)
Michael Bordner
Funeral services for Michael A. Bordner, 48, who passed away Sept. 19 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road in Henderson.
He was a captain with the Nye County Sheriff's Office and worked at the Mercury Sub Station for 25 years.
His mother Joyce Bordner; and many friends in law enforcement, firefighting and the Test Site survive him.
His father Roy Bordner preceded him in death.

Robert Winter
Robert (Bobby) Arthur Winter, born in Chicago, Ill., June 11, 1980; died suddenly Sept. 16, 2005, in Las Vegas. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Marines at age 17.
Following 9/11 he was decorated while serving in Afghanistan. Recently he was employed at United Rentals Hyway Technology of Las Vegas.
He was the loving son of Laura and Peter Vavricka of Crystal, Nev. A sunset memorial service will be held on Sept. 29, 2005, at the home of his parents in Crystal.

Bobby Wallace
A private service will be held for Bobby Gene Wallace, 62, who passed away Sept. 19 in Pahrump.
He was born Dec. 22, 1942 in Muskogee, Okla. He moved to Pahrump from Las Vegas.
He was an ironworker and served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
His brother Harvey R. Wallace of Pahrump survives him.

Robert Turnbull
Private family services will be held for Robert Turnbull, 57, who passed away Nov. 18 in Pahrump.
He was born Jan. 1, 1948 in New York. He was a two-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Palmdale, Calif.
He worked as an operating engineer of heavy equipment. He was also a member of the Ingalls Motorcycle Group in Lancaster, Calif.
His wife of 23 years Eleanor; son Robert (Marsie) Orosco; daughters Cindy (Ron) Hickling, Tammy (Dean) Jensen and Debbie (Rob) Kirby; brother Jim (Linda) Turnbull; niece Paige; nephew Matt; and grandchildren Rendell, Steven, Anthony, Ashley and Jarrett survive him.
His parents Archie and Lois Turnbull; and Gary Turnbull, who died in Vietnam, preceded him in death.

Arthur Vanbetuw
Private family services will be held for Arthur Theodore Vanbetuw, 50, who passed away Nov. 19 in Pahrump.
He was born Feb. 9, 1955 in Indonesia. He was a six-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Fort Bragg, N.C.
He worked as an administrative clerk in the U.S. Army and retired after more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and reading. He will be greatly missed.
His mother Eugenie Vanbetuw; and siblings Walter, Josef, John, Desira, Muriel, Gina and Xandra survive him.

Dorothy Hanlon
Services were held for Dorothy J. Hanlon, 74, who passed away Nov. 23 in Las Vegas.
She was born Sept. 15, 1931 in Illinois. She was a Pahrump resident since 1992, coming from Las Vegas.
She worked as a private secretary in the banking industry. She also loved arts and crafts and was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. She will be dearly missed.
Her husband of 54 years James Hanlon; son James T. Hanlon III; daughters Catherine Best, Donna Lisk and Elizabeth Louise Coyne; sister Helen Malanoski of Tamaro, Ill.; grandchildren Tami, Amy, John David, Zachary, Daniel and Emily; great grandchild Marrisa; and beloved dog Shadow survive her.
Her great grandson John preceded her in death.

Kathryn Jones
Services are pending for Kathryn A. Jones, 53, who passed away Nov. 24 in Pahrump.
She was born June 2, 1952 in Springfield, Ill. She was a 15-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas. She worked as a bartender.
Her husband Samuel Jones; parents Rita B. McCarthy and James D. Spencer Sr., both of Witt, Ill.; son Earl (Renaee) Jones of Las Vegas; daughter Deborah (Keith) Olson of Las Vegas; brothers James D. Spencer Jr., Josh Spencer, and Paul Spencer, all of Springfield; brother Ken Spencer of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren survive her.
Her son Samuel Jones Jr. preceded her in death.
