Carolyn Hannah
A memorial service for Carolyn Marie Hannah, 62, who died Sept. 29 in Pahrump, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at West Haven Baptist Church in Tonganoxie, Kan.

She was born Sept. 9, 1941 in Missouri. She was a resident of Pahrump for eight years and a former resident of Amargosa Valley.

She owned her own business, was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Disabled American Veterans, and was of the Lutheran faith.

Her husband Thomas of Pahrump; daughters Deborah (Michael) Hannah of Wisconsin and Terri Hannah of Missouri; son Ted (Janet) Hannah of Pahrump; two sisters; five brothers; and four grandchildren survive her.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Helen Totino
No services will be held for Helen Totino, 70, who died Oct. 3 in Las Vegas.

She was born Jan. 11, 1933 in New York, and was a resident of Pahrump for six years coming from Las Vegas.

She worked as a teacher for the government until her retirement five years ago, and was of the Catholic faith.

Her husband Dominick of Pahrump; sons David Totino of Amargosa, Salvatorie Totino of Las Vegas, Richard Totino and Robert Totino, both of Arizona; daughters Carol Klein of Las Vegas and Rose Jorden of Pahrump; and seven grandchildren survive her.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Alan Martinez
Alan Martinez, 8, died Sept. 3 in Beatty.

He was born April 19, 1995 in Las Vegas, and was a resident of Henderson.

He was a student and a member of Choice Hills Baptist Church.

His father Jose Angel Martinez, of California; mother Mirna Espenoza Martinez of Henderson; brother Luis Angel Martinez of Henderson; and a 10-month old sister survive him.

Joseph Stevens
Services are pending for Joseph G. Stevens, 24, who died Oct. 2 in Crystal.

He was born Jan. 13, 1979 in Tucson, Ariz., and was an 18-year resident of Pahrump.

His mother Chausie Stevens and father Gary Stevens of Pahrump; brother Joshua Stevens of Great Falls, Mont.; daughter Justice Annette Stevens of Texas; grandmother Betty Lou Kaucky of Pahrump; great grandmother Betty Fay Warlick Higginbotham of Utah; uncles John Holt of Utah and Mark Higginbotham of Texas, survive him.

Mayo McCulloch
No services will be held for Mayo Ordean McCulloch, 60, who died Oct. 3 in Las Vegas.

He was born April 4, 1943 in Idaho, and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as an instructor for a community college.

He was of the Mormon faith, and was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association and the Lost Dutchman's Miners Association.

His wife Barbara of Pahrump; son Timothy McCulloch; daughter Sari McCulloch Wheeler; sisters Penney McCready and SaReta McCulloch-Hofius; and five grandchildren survive her.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society handled the arrangements. (10/3/03)

Colleen Nordman
A memorial service for Colleen Nordman, 74, who died Sept. 30 in Vacaville, Calif., will be held Oct. 11 at Trinity Baptist Church in Vacaville.

She was born June 7, 1929 in Alameda, Calif. She was a former, long-time resident of Pahrump, where she had many friends and attended the Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church.

Her favorite hobby was making cookies.

Her sons Ron (Margie) Nordman of Vacaville, Gary (Barbara) Nordman of Modesto, Calif., and Roger (Linda) Nordman of Sparks; brother Warren; granddaughters Erica, Amy and Vicki; grandsons John and Tim; and great granddaughter Tiffany survive her.

Her husband John and sister Patricia preceded her in death. (9/30/03)

Joyce Stover

Private family services will be held for Joyce Stover, 59, who died Oct. 17 in Pahrump.

She was born Dec. 18, 1943 in Ohio, and was a long-time resident of Pahrump and previous resident of Las Vegas.

She was a member of the Crewel World sewing classes, like to read, crochet, knit and play cards. She was a Dallas Cowboy fan and loved animals

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Her daughters Lori Chester of Las Vegas and Mary Anne Lemke of Toledo, Ohio; son Kenneth (Amy) Lemke of Toledo; brothers Charles Silcox of Florida and Donnie Silcox of Toledo; sisters Debbie (Don) George of California and Patricia Anderson of Ottawa Lake, Mich.; and grandchildren Jami, Jean, Brianna, Sabrina Lemke and Sarah Miller survive her.

Her parents, Maude and Walter Silcox, brother John Silcox and sister Emily Silcox preceded her in death.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (10/17/03)

Maxine Hackbarth

No services will be held for Maxine Hackbarth, 84, who died Oct. 17 in Las Vegas.

She was born July 15, 1919 in Clarion, Iowa, and was a 10-year resident of Pahrump.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star (IA), the Kinsmen Relief Corp and National Association of Credit Women, and was a past state president and international officer of the Rebekah Lodge.

Her son Verne Hackbarth of Pahrump; daughter Debra Hackbarth of Pahrump; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren survive her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

William Freed III
Services for William Brandon Michael Freed Jr. III, 30, who died in a car accident Sept. 20 in Hawthorne, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 781 E. Gamebird Road.

He was born Nov. 12, 1972 in Englewood, N.J., and was a resident of Las Vegas for five years.

He worked in security and as a bodyguard in Las Vegas, and owned several small businesses.

His father William C. Freed; mother Samantha Serena F. Freed; brothers Timothy Thomas S. Freed, Clint Charlton L. Freed, and Michael Martin C. Freed; sisters Ashley Amber C. Freed, Cassandra Celena J. Freed, Yvette Yvonne L. Esposito, and Angelica Nicole Giovanni survive him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Freed family at 3321 W. Charleston Park Avenue in Pahrump. (9/20/03)

Harriet Barth
A memorial service for Harriet B. Barth, 73, who died Oct. 19 in Pahrump, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 E. Cheyenne Road, Las Vegas.

She was born March 29, 1930 in Decatur, Ill., and was a 16-year resident of Pahrump.

She worked as a sales person in the clothing industry until her retirement.

Her husband Richard of Las Vegas; daughters Paula Williams and Darla Sova, both of Pahrump, Carla DeMauro of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Marla Laughlin of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren survive her.

Larry Corey
Services are pending in Illinois for Larry Gene Corey, 62, who died Oct. 8 in Pahrump.

He was born Dec. 9, 1940 in Illinois, and was a 16-year resident of Pahrump.

He worked as an auto salesman, and had many friends in Pahrump. He will be missed.

His nephew John Corey of Illinois; and several friends in Pahrump survive him.

His parents preceded him in death.

Dixie Hines
A private family remembrance will be held for Dixie Darlene Hines, 68, who died Oct. 16 in Pahrump.

She was born Jan. 28, 1935 in New Mexico, and was a 28-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Denver.

She worked as a manager for No To Abuse and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her daughters Catherleen (Hyden) Dellman, Lynn Benjamin and Leslie Eribe, all of Pahrump; sons Laurence Hines of Pahrump and Louis Hemes of Tonopah; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren survive her.

Her parents, husband and a grandson preceded her in death.
