GLORIA J. GARCIA, 56, of Santa Fe died Saturday in Albuquerque.
She was a strong, caring and loving person. Her home was open to those who needed a place to stay or to those who needed someone to talk to. Her friendship, advice, guidance, outspokenness and understanding were appreciated by those who visited her. She loved her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos "Charlie" Garcia; parents, Jose P. and Juanita Vigil; sisters, Josephine Lucero and Barbara Vigil; and brother, Frank "Pancho" Vigil.
She is survived by her sons, Carlos " Charlie" Garcia and Lawrence Garcia; daughters, Adela "Della" Garcia and Monica Garcia; five grandchildren; sisters, Martha Chavez and husband Henry, Antoinette Tenison and husband John; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 3 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at 3 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

MANUEL GRIEGO, 85, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Saturday at Meadow II at the Las Vegas Center after a long illness.
He was born in Santa Ana. He was a hospital attendant and maintenance worker at the Las Vegas Medical Center and was a track laborer for the AT&SF Railway System. He was a custodian at New Mexico Highlands University prior to his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Griego; and sister, Faye Dimas.
He is survived by his wife, Gregorita J. Griego; daughter, Angelina Griego, both of Las Vegas, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with burial to follow in Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Tecolote.

HELEN LYONS KLUVER, 93, of Santa Fe died Sunday at Aspen Ridge Lodge in Los Alamos.
She was born in Excelsior, Minn. and formerly lived in Albuquerque. She was a "flapper", who loved her 1931 Model A. She never forgot the depression and its lessons. During World War II, she was a plane spotter in California during the constant air raid alerts and then began her career working for the military in the Panama Canal Zone. After the war, she moved to Albuquerque and worked for 18 years at Sandia National Laboratories.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Thomson of Santa Fe and Candace Frostenson of Los Alamos; six grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A private service will be held at the Episcopalian Parish Church of St. Barnabas on the Desert in Scottsdale, Ariz., followed by burial in the memorial garden at St. Barnabas Church.

VIRGINIA V. PACHECO, 99, of Chamisal died Friday.
She became a Carmelita at age 8 and was the oldest Carmelita in the Chamisal area. She was the oldest living member of the Chamisal community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fermin Pacheco; parents, Ramon and Felipita Vasquez; brother, Tobias Vasquez; and sister, Ursulita Vasquez.
She is survived by her family, Edonila Casados and husband Benjamin; Ernestine Cordova, Aurelio Pacheco and wife Ermelinda, all of Chamisal, Helen Johnson and husband Robert of Santa Fe, Adonio Pacheco and wife Lillian of Taos, Jose Pacheco and friend Rita of Chamisal, Frank Pacheco and wife Elaine of El Paso, Texas, Regina Pacheco, Virginia Dominguez and husband Roger, Sarita Lopez and Adolfo, all of Chamisal; 48 grandchildren and many other relatives.

GAVINO SANCHEZ, 81, of Rodarte died Sunday.
He worked as a miner in Grants until he was injured in 1967. He had also worked in other mines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Abigai Sanchez; brother, Joe D. Sanchez; and sisters, Carmen Cruz and Cordilia Duran.
He is survived by his wife, Della Sanchez; daughters, Geneva Baltazar and Josie Nerone and husband Richard of California; four granddaughters; sister, Olivama Fresquez of Rodarte; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peņasco. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at Llano Largo Cemetery.

CHARLES "CHUCK" STRAW, 75, of Santa Fe died suddenly Friday.
He loved attending his ceramic class. He worked for St. Vincent Hospital as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. He was a public relations man and enjoyed talking to his acquaintances of the past.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Martha Straw; sisters, Dorothy and Jessie; and stepson, Mickey Mondragon.
He is survived by his wife, Levoria "Lee" Straw of Santa Fe; son, Enoch Straw of Fairbanks, Alaska; daughter, Georgette Gilpin and husband Perry of Gardnerville, Nev.; adopted son, Marcus Straw of Portland, Ore.; three granddaughters; step-children, Marty Mondragon and Sandra Noe and husband Scott, all of Los Lunas and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Faustine and Mary Belen Chavez; husband, James Tsoodle; and sons, James Jr. and James Francis Tsoodle.
